Let's be real. She had them when they were on the rooftop. There was nothing holding her back to just catch them. She just wanted to have a bit more fun.
In the LN its stated the reason she didnt catch them there is any magic she used would have insta killed them. Even something ment to be non lethal would likely "carbonize" them due to the massive level difference... She decided exhausting them is the best course of action.

Can we just appreciate how a kid was able to row at the speed of a motor boat, with two other passenger's.
I've noticed that even the background boats in the show seem to be going a bit faster than they should.

I think this going to be one of the best animes this season, not that there is a lot of offer this season of real interst, while its not inventing Isskai, its just having the main character come across as OP yet extremely comical
