A new video will be needed in 2025. ^^ The new metro 15 will arrive. The first 100% suburban line (not in Paris),and the first section of the loop line. Suburban train gauge trains (2.8m wide) ,6 cars, 100% automatic and speed 110kph. The Mp73 series of the line 6 is disappearing, replaced by the Mp89 series from the line 4 (which had received those from the line 14, + new mp14-6 series). The Mp73 series will have disappeared by the beginning of 2025. The line 11 is currently making its transition to Mp14-5 series. In one month the entire fleet will be replaced and the Mp59 series will disappear. at 1:36:02 the audible sound which is similar to that of a cricket (it is intended), indicates that the station is curved .... the famous "mind the gap between the train and the platform".
they are bars of soap under braking... especially if a lubrication train is in front. it requires skill in driving.^^ But otherwise they are reliable...simple, rustic, solid.
I take twice a week the lines 2 and 4 in order to go to the market under the aerial metro line 2 between Barbès-Rochechouart and La Chapelle station. It is cheap and lively. I see some tourists and I recommend this market on wenesdays and saturday : it's not far from Montmartre hill (just keep an eye on your belongings).
I think it was a demonstration that it also works with the phone off. It's store in the NFC RFID secure chip. I use my phone to validate in the metro, trams and busses in Paris.
It's to warn passengers about the gap between the train and the plateform, station is on a curve, normally it's only played during the presence of a train.
@@tomymy_fr Nah, it's basically to remind of the crickets that were in the subway before its renovation/platform doors. The blue lights however are there to warn passengers. You see it everytime on curved platforms, like Bastille.
Both are true : the blue line and sound are used to warn passengers about the gap at curved stations. RATP chose cricket sounds as a reference to the ones that used to live in the metro on the tracks.
Appreciate the vid Huey!

Paris Metro has the highest rail ridership in the world outside of East Asia: 2 billion a year!
