There are several films where multiple states are involved, although the amount of time spent in the state should count a lot. Close Encounters starts in Indiana, with a short 'side trip' into Ohio (while chasing a UFO), and ends in Wyoming. The screen time for Indiana and Wyoming settings is fairly even, and evenly important.
That's the wrong Stepford Wives, 2004, not 1975, though they are both set in CT. Also, Fight Club was filmed in Delaware, but not set in Delaware, in fact intentionally not set in any particular city or state. Granted, Delaware is slim pickin's, but Dead Poets Society would have worked. Also, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly was set during the civil war, but there was no New Mexico until 60 years later. I like the back to back stills of De Niro in movie theaters. That was a nice touch. You know there are 51 questions on this quiz with your inclusion of D.C., right? Yeah, I'm that guy today. I got 48.
Not gonna lie, being from Massachusetts I was fully expecting it to be Jaws but it wasn't. Anyway I go 12 out of 51. Can't believe I missed Twister and Dawn of the Dead.
Here’s a genuine comment for the Guess the Movie Set in Each US State Picture Quiz: 🎬🍿 This quiz was such a creative challenge! I loved trying to guess the movies based on the state settings-so many iconic films I didn't even realize were set in certain places! 🗺 The mix of pictures and questions made it even more fun. Great job putting this together-perfect for any movie lover looking to test their knowledge!
"Set in" is NOT the same as "Filmed in". Dances with Wolves is SET IN Kansas. John Dunbar is dispatched from Fort Hays - which is in Kansas (I've been there). Shawshank Redemption was set in Maine, but filmed in Ohio. You also have a bit of an issue when a film is set in multiple states for a significant portion of the screen time - Close Encounters of the Third Kind begins in Indiana, and then later moves to Wyoming for the conclusion. How about a couple more tries at the quiz, one for a proper 'Set in' and another for 'Filmed in'?
Wrong on Forest Gump being filmed in Alabama. Mostly filmed in Mississippi. 9:29 The 1994 film Forrest Gump was filmed in several locations, including: Beaufort, South Carolina: Many scenes were filmed in and around Beaufort, including: Woods Memorial Bridge: The scene where Forrest runs over the "Mississippi River" and is interviewed by reporters Sea Island Parkway: The road where Forrest enters Mississippi Lucy Creek: The location for the shrimp boat scenes Port Royal SC Ports Authority Terminal: The location for the hurricane scene Coosaw Island: The location for the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company dock and boat house Savannah, Georgia: Filming locations include: Chippewa Square: The location for the opening "park bench" scene Love's Seafood & Steaks: The location for the scene where Jenny performs at the truck stop Marshall Point Lighthouse: Located in Port Clyde, Maine Pemaquid: Located in Maine Other filming locations include: Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Arizona, and Montana.
We’ll probably make another version of this quiz in the coming weeks so we didn’t want to use the most obvious one for each state in this quiz! Thanks for watching 😀
OK, I wasn't keeping track. If there were 50 questions, but you included Washington DC, that means ONE _actual_ state was left out. Which one was it? UPDATE: I just checked it out, there must be 51 questions because all 50 states are accounted for, plus DC.
Outside of a couple of scenes, Fargo takes place in Minnesota.

I love that Tom Hanks is in so many. 🤩
...Twister was shot in Iowa...
42/50 .. which is all the ones I've seen
Not gonna lie, being from Massachusetts I was fully expecting it to be Jaws but it wasn't. Anyway I go 12 out of 51. Can't believe I missed Twister and Dawn of the Dead.
All of the out door scenes in A Christmas Story are actually the Tremont and Downtown areas of Cleveland,OH and the Higbees store is now Jack Casino
"Filmed in" is not the same as "Set in". A Christmas Story is indeed set in Indiana, although none of it was apparently filmed in Indiana.
@sireuchre not a single second
That was fun to watch. I do wish you would've picked another movie other than Clueless for California though.

SLC Punk or 3 O'clock High would be good for Utah. I guessed North Dakota and Wyoming before I even saw them.
And Oklahoma's.

The quiz is movies set in each state not filmed in
I guess I don't get out much! I've only seen 18 of the movies! And since when did Washington D.C become a state? I guess I missed when that happened!
It was a mistake by someone who’s Geography is awful 👈👈👈
Gone with the wind was not filmed in Georgia. It was almost all filmed in California
The movie takes place in Georgia
9/10 guessed Badfinger on one. Know the rest
I was expecting Red Dawn for Colorado and Major League for Ohio and Varsity Blues for Texas
I'm good at losing count, but I think that I got thirteen right. Some were educated guesses.
So was Anatomy Of A Murder (1959)
43/50
Great score!
Its a little ironic, movies shot in my state, take place elsewhere.
And movies shot elsewhere, take place in my state!!
Go figure.
( Colorado,)😅
Colorado must look at lot like other states 😂
38/50. Not horrible
Thanks for playing Courtney!
@ 😊
I missed Michigan. Was it RoboCop or Eight Mile?
Ok, I found it.
It was Deep Throat
@@richardschnell4842 "American Pie" was set in Michigan.
Well, you didn't say that these were the best or most famous movies.
I was expecting Sandlot for Utah not 127 Hours

46/51

Hawaii?
@@patriciafenwick5846 Hawaii was 50 First Dates
@MrMousley oh. Thank you
@@Quizink DC is not a state. It''s one movie for every state PLUS DC. So there aren't _fifty_ questions, there are fifty-ONE.
Hawaii
You might want to do gernes, like horror or westerns.
This was fun, and I think I got at least 3/4 of them! 🤔🫠😄
Like different genres but for each state?
Sounds like a good idea!
Thanks for playing, as long as you had fun!! 😁
