In this special livestream event (session 1, timed for people EU and the Americas) I outlined my arguments that while IA (Intelligent Assistance) and some forms of narrow AI may well be quite beneficial to humanity, the idea of building AGIs i.e. 'generally intelligent digital entities' (as set forth by Sam Altman / #openai and others) represents an existential risk that should not be undertaken or self-governed by private enterprises, multi-national corporations or venture-capital funded startups.
So: IA /AI yes *but with clear rules, standards and guardrails. AGI: NO unless we're all on the same page. www.haltagi.com
Here l explain why I believe we need an AGI-Non-Proliferation-Agreement, what the difference between IA/AI and AGI or ASI (super intelligence) is, why it matters and how we could go about it.
@LondonFuturists ' David Wood joined me as special guest on this live-show. Thank you!

Thank you for producing this, Gerd; it is a very important topic with many subtopics. The topic I would like to express involves the impact beyond job/income loss on the economy over the next 5-15 years. AI/Robotics use by producers/manufacturers is inevitable as they improve to and then beyond a human level and at a cost less than human workers. Job losses will result. Without income, consumers will slow or stop buying products and services. What percentage of consumer withdrawal will impact producers of products and services? How will our economy work? It will affect everyone nationally and internationally. I don't hear anyone in industry or government thinking or planning for this. It is just a matter of when and how much time we have.

That’s a great question Bill and actually I’ve been working on that with governments as well as brands and investors - many of whom are thinking “What If.” Firstly the transition will be slow, however most jobs automation could impact the higher earners first especially in the digital-tech space (I have a book on that topic, happy to share), and as for the slow down if there are a lot of jobs lost then there are alternative ways to drive the economy and create value ($$$) such as DeFi where we can decouple income from “the economy and jobs.” The transition is also hard - just because you can automate a single job doesn’t mean you should because automating a single job can have a significant impact on other roles and tasks in the organisation that relied or interacted with that job. Etc.

Seharusnya AI ada dalam manusia dan manusia ada dalam AI juga
