When my son was about 2 and I took him shopping in his stroller, he’d reach out and pick things at his eye level. Every time I went back to pay for an item he had innocently picked, the cashiers would be surprised. One told me, “It’s just a 50-cent lemon... You didn’t have to return to pay for it.” I wanted my son to learn he can’t continue doing something that is wrong.
I feel like guilty people who are on record saying this should be required by the court to go to a human rights/Law class or something where they learn our actual human rights as an American bc so many Americans are so entitled these days due to misconstrued “rights” they were told they have once

That aside, if you can't afford to shop at Goodwill or any store, then you don't need to go there period. There's plenty of places you can get help, plenty. And I've seen crap stolen from the damn dollar store, so stop pretending it's about prices. Cause you do know that when stores encounter theft, they raise prices to recoup the losses. That's not true. If you fully cooperate and are innocent or only committed a minor offense it's possible for the officers to be nice to you. You don't have to go into cuffs while detained. Lots of people on these videos are detained while just standing there with the officers. Perfectly comfortable. It's when they try to walk away that they tend to get arrested and go into cuffs. It's them resisting that causes the pain.

Many years ago, my husband and I were shopping at Walmart where we observed 2 women shoplifting. They were hiding things under their burkas. We got ahold of the store manager, told her what was happening and pointed out the 2 women to her. We watched as the 2 women walked past the manager and out the front door. When we asked the manager why didn't she stop them for shoplifting, she just turned away and walked off. My husband and I don't bother anymore reporting shoplifters at Walmart. It's not worth it.
Sadly some Walmart workers don't care. In my area in California there's a new system where you can pay in self checkout but only on a debit card and the workers are right there holding a device that can see you while paying. I went 2 days ago and it surprised me lol. It's disheartening that Walmart has to go through so much security because of thief but, they hire anyone on the spot and only care about money. So I'm not surprised that the lady walked off

As somebody who works at GW, thieves are divided into 3 categories; the folks that stuff lots of clothes in big purses, the folks that hide things under carts or conceal in some way to walk out with a big or pricier item (cricket machines, mixers, large pictures, etc.) And then there's the people that just steal new goods. And the most common item stolen with regards to that are new goods socks.

A Compassionate heart is curable. I'm a forensic auditor and was diagnosed with depression because of how much it bothered me when investigating an employee that stole from the company because of their kid's medical bills. A Compassionate heart is curable. I'm a forensic auditor and was diagnosed with depression because of how much it bothered me when investigating an employee that stole from the company because of their kid's medical bills. I helped put a single mother whose kid had lukemia in jail. Had a full on panic attack in a bathroom after confronting her with evidence and she began crying and begging those present to not involve the police. And so for years I genuinely thought I was a piece of shit. Until one day, years later and thousands of dollars in therapy I met the CFO of that company and he said something that cared my Compassionate heart. The bitch lied, she had no kids. During the period she stole the money was coincidentally when she bought her boyfriend extravagant gifts, like a new motorbike and a 72 inch TV with cash. I almost quit my dream job over this lying pos.
