Frame a Double Door Wall - Build a Shop door

- I am building a 20x30 workshop and its time to frame the double door. This door is 64" wide and 80" tall to allow plenty of room to get large things in and out. This door has a 2x6 header to support the weight of the load above. The walls are 10 feet tall to supply lots of room for storage. I like to use contractors adhesive to connect the frame to the floor. This makes a nice solid connection but also helps to prevent unwanted bugs from getting into the shop. If you are looking for how to build a double door this is the place for you.

Wanted to thank you for the videos on the double and single door framing. I was very anxious and your video walking through all of it made my walls a success! Thank you for the content
merci pour votre video
Nice work 👏🏿
Thank you.
I'm working on a 10x20 office shed. I like to keep a ratcheting bar clamp / quick clamp with me as a third hand. Latest use is balancing wall OSB on a screw at the right height and holding OSB to wall with clamp (2 10D nails in stud to space from previous sheet).
Best
Thank you. This type wall is fun to build.
I have to say that I’m really impressed with your video quality, camera angles, and your descriptions. These videos have been super helpful.
Thank you. This build has been slow because of filming. Happy to hear the videos have helped!
So I noticed off your measurements you made the door opening exact alot of people say you should five yourself a extra 1/4 inch per door for any adjustments that may need to be made. Has there been any issues with exact? I am planning on making my own doorway soon and was wondering the best way of doing it.
Dang. The HF framing nailers are up to $110. Still, it's quicker, better shear strength, and a lot easier to dissemble if it comes to that.
I have not even priced one of the nailers. I am sure that I have built enough over the years to justify buying one. Just have not taken that leap.
watched to see the shop door ?
That is part of the series. Check the channel for the door build.
Nicely Done, I'm looking forward to the next video. It looks like you are set up to hang the wall sheeting horizontally so each panel spans the most studs for strength?
Yes that is how I placed the exterior osb sheeting. Really firmed this place up!
I don't have friend's who would help me either. (;
