Nice video. I had the same problem with the paint stripping and I solved it (albeit a bit too late) by rotating the exhaust ninety degrees and drilling another hole for the mount, the original grub screw still holds it in place. This way it gives the truck a but more ground clearance than the pipe. However I like your modification as it will most likely not void the warranty unlike mine.
markybyeah - The hose is meant for car radiators/coolant systems. Coolant can reach around 80-90 degrees and the exhaust doesn't get that hot anyway so I shall report back soon. I appreciate you looking out for me. That's really cool. I use as little fuel as possible and always wash my hands thoroughly after. I also wash the fuel down the sink for around 2-3 mins afterwards. I would rather clean the air filter in the sink than outside because I don't want to have an animal come and taste it. I've lost a cat trying stuff it shouldn't so wouldn't want that to happen to anyone else. I may try soap and water next time. Like you said, its safer. I was just going by the manual from HPI. Thanks for the tips. Its much appreciated.
Keep em' coming! I noticed you've used some kinda hose for your exhaust tip, you can also get the proper rubber tubes that fit on the exhaust tip, they are about £1.99 on eBay in all colors and they wont melt or burn... Just be careful what hose you've used as it may burn in the long run. Another thing, I noticed you used nitro to clean your air filter sponge? or did I miss something? be careful with nitro as it's very dangerous to the skin it can cause major health problems in the long run, the container will state this. I've always used soap and water to clean an air filter as it's much much safer than nitro of course... I would never use it near a sink either just to be on the safe side. But nevertheless each to their own... Maybe watch the Traxxas nitro DVD, you'll find some great tips for all nitro models really - just skip through it, I will link you to the video below...Just be careful with nitro dude! ua-cam.com/video/Hpx8zGzEj5I/v-deo.html PS, I'm just looking out for you - stay safe mate!
+Ryan van der Westhuizen I haven't run it in about 6 months. The pull start doesn't last long so I'll be switching to a Roto-start. Hopefully have it running for when the snow comes. Are you getting the MT or ST?
Hello can I ask what wheel to use as got all alloy parts bottom arms steering the lot but wheel keep distroying wheel hups and tyres help would be great you vids are great.
X-FLIGHT101 I haven't broken any parts yet. I've not run it much to be honest. I'm having trouble starting it at the moment. Will be switching to a Roto start. The pull start gave me huge blisters.
If the pull start is giving you blisters, then a roto starter isn't gonna start it either, normally the problems is bad compression or air leaks. There is many videos out there about why your nitro engine doesn't start. Check them out and go over your engine. Thanks for the quick reply hope this helps :)
X-FLIGHT101 I think I know why it's not starting. The pull start is getting a bit tired and keep hitting my knuckles off the top of the engine. I will check out a few videos but I'm pretty sure its down to tuning and the throttle linkage to the servo.
The ones I have aren't on Ebay anymore. I did a quick search and there's hardly any on there. Just try typing 'RC Shock Socks/Covers'. They might have some that are the right size.
+RCProjects Hi RC Projects, dont know if you still have the HPI Bullet ST, re the black paint coming off the right rear wheel . You said you would change the wheels around to let the exhaust take the paint off the other 3 wheels so they would all end up chrome. I had this same problem and all I did was use some nitro fuel on a rag and remove the black paint off the other 3 wheels in one go. I now have 4 shinny chrome wheels on my MT. Many thanks.
Thanks for this video series - just bought the same model and as a complete novice in all things RC these videos are going to be bloody helpful!
Nice video I love the look of those shock covers
Blue Thunder R/C I'm real impressed with them. They look good and are functional. Awesome.
Yah I might get those for my rustler
good video bud..if more people did what u did here..nitro would be a little eraser for people..got to maintain your truck
Ramsay Yeah, so true. I'm a little OCD when it comes to maintenance. If its dirty, it needs to be cleaned. Thanks for watching.

Muzamil Irfan Good idea. Its a shame the paint strips so quickly. I like the chrome anyway. Thanks for watching.

Cold plug is for hot weather ,and harder to tune engine running colder plugs
awesome job m8 .. nice one :-)
+HYRIZE RC-DJ Thanks. It will be back this winter hopefully.

the ST.... do u suggest a roto-start for it? havnt heard many complaints about the pull start, this is the 1st

Do you have to strictly use the HPI glow plugs, or can you use other types? If so, what others are compatible? Thanks.
I imagine you can use other types but can't be sure as I am not too educated on nitro cars and I don't own this one anymore.
Would u recommend changing the nitro engine to better one or bigger one ?
I didn't use it enough to want to change the engine. I've now sold it as I barely used it.
Moooore please!!!
What parts do you break most often, just so I have a heads up of extra parts to order if I crash?

that happened to me ;-;
I use bumper starter box to start mine if my hands hurt from pulling to many times
Can you give me the link to the shock covers because I really need some, thank you. 😜
