- This rider allegedly had his license confiscated after sideswiping a child.
It's easy to give consideration to the person standing in front of you.
The hard part is strictly enforcing the law, for the good of everyone else.
If you give unlimited consideration, there will be unlimited problems on the road.
The rider also showed an unpaid ticket that was issued by an LGU enforcer.
The rider was stopped by the MMDA because he was driving in slippers, which is a dress code violation.

Cases like this doesn't needs to be discussed, the guy is an offender and should be penalized. So many like him roams the street who repeatedly violates the law.

That officer with the hat is very empathetic. He seems tough, but he's always looking out for the potential victim. He's probably saved countless lives without even knowing it.
I really wish mmda gets more authority, like being able to arrest unlawful drivers.

The biggest issue is that in the country there far too many law enforcement branches. The further you go down those branches and department the Rules and Regulations becomes grey.
This should be part of the Police Department.

Mmda should have an onsite database for checking repeat offenders. The driver's license already has a bar code that could be utilized for such things. Also, Ads regarding traffic accidents due to improper driving should be plastered all over edsa's LED screens i.e. showing a foot missing half its digits after skidding along the road without proper footwear.
If they can be pardoned then they can go ahead with their usual doings. That's what is in their mind not thinking of what they might do to other people.🤦🤦
A couple of days ago, I saw a rider get on his motorcycle and start to ride away without a helmet.
The enforcers were standing there and told him, sir you need to wear a helmet.
He just laughed, waved and continued to ride.
Then he was flagged down and given a penalty ticket.
That's the reality that I see on a daily basis..
That enforcers try to give someone a chance, or a warning, to immediately rectify a mistake. But some drivers or riders just don't want to obey 🤷
It's the same thing with counterflowing. You'll see an enforcer remind the rider that it's a one-way street, but some riders just say "Jan lang ako" and continue to counterflow.
Then when they get ticketed, they say the enforcer doesn't have a heart. Even though he was already given a chance to turn around 🤦
Pedestrians are regularly hit by counterflowing bikes and cars 🤦
@@GadgetAddict Yep, give them a ticket and the enforcers are heartless. Let them go and they will brag to their friends how stupid the enforcers are while drinking. Some people even makes videos where they bypass enforcers then a GTA Mission Passed Respect + at the end of the video.
Agreed the law maybe harsh, but it should be implemented on everybody and in NATIONAL LEVEL not only when MMDA is there. In outside Metro Manila this is rampant, no helmet, slippers, no registration, driving in slippers and etc. If we need to discipline all drivers it should be on NATIONAL level not on selected city and roads only.
So many violations it deserve a punishment. Salute to Col. Bong!

I asked multiple police officers and enforcers, what could be the reason for the police holding his license, even if there's no ticket or document.
All of them gave the same answer..
That most likely he begged the police, to let him get through, promising to come back and pay for the medical costs of the child that he allegedly sideswiped.
But those are only educated guesses. No one knows for sure, except the rider himself.

Though they have no authority to take license, taking it is the only way to ensure the victim that they will take responsibility for the accident.
Heard a lot of stories where the offender gave their victims fake names, addresses and phone numbers after an accident.
I had a friend who got in an accident near our place (he was at fault), then the baranggay officers took his license and let him sign an agreement that he will settle everything with the victim.
That is very likely. The next time he bump or crash, he is more inclined to run away since 1.) he dosn’t have a license 2.) he knows the consequences would be severe for him this time. Good thing MMDA caught him first
I receive messages every week from people who got hit by another driver or rider, was promised that the damages would be paid, and then never heard from them again.
That's really how it is, a lot of the time. If they can just beg their way through, and escape, you'll never see or hear from them again.
They know how difficult it will be for you to do anything about it later.

Masyadong pabaya, lax, may katamaran yung LGU. Ewan kung anong mga inaatupag. Super daming road violators sa Cavite ng mga camotes atbp driver kasali na ang mga illegal, unattended parking. Mga pinalapad na kalsada ginagawang paradahan, repairshop, extension ng bahay, vulcanizing etc.
Mas mahigpit pa nga sa ibang bansa sa totoo lang. Yung iba need mo maging sobrang yaman bago makabili ng sasakyan gaya sa Singapore.

This is frustrating to see. What the colonel said is true, if he wasn't wearing slippers he wouldn't have been flagged down. He has the gall to drive without a license and at same time commit a violation that is easily seen (wearing slippers). He also admits to previous violations including injuring a child. This is culture of impunity that seems prevalent in Filipino society. Walang pakialam sa batas. Civilian or government personnel, both can be irresponsible. He really doesn't deserve the privilege to drive.

Ang problema kasi ng batas trapiko, hindi lahat ng lungsod pinapatupad. Kaya pumapasok sa isip ng motorista na pwede kahit bawal sa batas. Ang magandang gawin ng MMDA dyan, lahat ng enforcers ng lungsod ay i seminar nila at ipatupad kung anu yung pinapatupad ng MMDA. Maraming lungsod ang pwede naka tsinelas, pwede mag counter flow, pwede tumawid, pwede overloading, pwde mag park sa kalsada. Sana maaksyonan ng MMDA.

I’ve been watching GA for some time now. I observed, these motorists, always disregarding the rules & law, over & over. Fines should be increased, no more Php500, 1000 is minimum & goes up. Impound their vehicles w/ higher fines. Once their pockets start emptying, maybe then they will finally realize to follow the law. Too many excuses.
