The Rolling STONES' Ventilator Blues Is NOT What You THINK?

- The Rolling Stones were on a roll! Between 1968 and 1972, they put out four albums that many fans say are their greatest, and some even say they're among the best rock albums ever made. Their last album in this amazing streak was a double album called "Exile on Main St." It was a wild ride to close out this epic period, just like you'd expect from the Stones.
Most folks know the story behind the album's name: the band had to leave England for a while because of high taxes, so they rented a place in France to make their music. But even though they were in Europe, the music on "Exile on Main St." is a mix of blues, soul, country, and rock - a sound that's all over the map in the best way possible.
This is a special double album - all 18 songs are fantastic, no duds here! Let's dive into each track and see what makes them so great.

Mick Taylor's genius all over ventliator blues
Love the comments by the late, great Bobby Keys here… he was such a good fit with the Stones!
This is a classic song that should get more play time,it's definitely a hidden treasure for sure 🎉🎉
Awesome tune... Thanks to M. Taylor
Didnt stand out to me at the time but now its one of favorites
Great song, great feel, great vocals. Just one of those things that the Stones do/did so well. And a real tribute to the often overlooked Mick Taylor.
Yes Stones songs structures were immensely improved by the likes of Hopkins, Keys, Ry Cooder, Billy Preston. This is what's missing now in Hackney Diamonds : songs sound naked compared to the past
Agree 100%. Love the Stones, always will. Unfortunately I just don't think we'll ever hear anyone like Bobby Keys or Nicky Hopkins on their songs again. It was a perfect fit.
I find the production of Hackney Diamonds to be too “bright.” I think the producer (and the band) were trying to prove the band still had amazing energy despite their advanced ages. I think a dialed back production would have sounded better and more organic, like their old classics.
Jagger has said that's exactly what he wanted to do. Make a bright crisp 2024 record. The old records are still there to be listened to but they are of their era and so is HD.
@@TheBearBiffo yep. But producer Watt made a too poppy sound. Stones were pop in the 60s, but their quintessential sound is Rock in the 70s. They should have kept it. Not many guitars in HD. And when there are, production is no good.

I respect your opinion but I was just trying to point out that, for good or ill, it is the record they set out to make.
Ventilator Blues einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsnummer
Ein ausgezeichnetes Team hat den “Ventilator Blues“ kreiert...dieser Song gefiel mir schon immer...
🎼🎵🎶🔝👏...
Why am I NOT SURPRISED Mick Taylor wrote this classic tune?
What blues artist did Taylor steal that riff from?
@@andrews527 : I NEVER SAID he stole anything from anyone because Mick T is a genuine blues / rock artist but now what I did mean is he never received creidt for songs he DID write for the Stones. You should know this if you're a Rolling Stones fan, however, I have a feeling I've been listening to that band longer than you been alive, sonny boy...
One of my favorite songs on Exile. I have been requesting it to reactors on UA-cam for a long time, but so far no takers.
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day also i have a stomach ache also a stomach flu ❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢😢😢
Thank you, You too! Sorry to hear that and get well soon!
Yes, get well real soon!
I know a thing or ten about a bad stomach!!
I know listening to The Rolling Stones will make you feel much better.
Keith Richards has an amazing voice!!!
"Not what you think"? What did you think?
Where is this footage from?
From the Stones DVD "Stones In Exile".
It's sort of a grindy track, proving that Mick Taylor wasn't a great suppressed songwriter after all.
Can't imagine Brian being able to write or even play anything as magnificent
Nope. He hated that the Stoned were taking this direction. The Taylor years are the best of the Stones
Brian Jones would have played some great slide guitar on this, come on now.
@@ericmalone3213 I think you're deluded if you think he could better Taylor's part
@@nihilistlivesmatter Nihilist's can't think very clearly. Where did I say Brian Jones would have "bettered" Mick Taylor? I said Brian would have played some great slide guitar. Were members of the Stones in competition against one another? For all we know, Brian would have also overdubbed a savvy clarinet arrangement, or added a part for prepared piano. Don't exhibit contempt and disrespect for the man who founded The Rolling Stones, Auld Schlubbo, you'll upset Bill Wyman, who will arrange to have you bludgeoned with a copy of Gertrude Stein's The Making of Americans.
@@ericmalone3213
Uhm neither can you if you think I'm a nihilist....but in their defence their world view does require some introspection
I doubt Brian could have been sober enough to contribute anything...Taylor's part is perfect I don't think a clarinet or marimba part would have fitted
Oh yes. Nicki Hopkins.
The quarrel over Anita, the drug busts, the ouster and death of Brian, Altamont, Allan Klein, tax problems, and the controlled lunacy of Villa Nellcote - The Stones seem to thrive with adversity. I dare say no other band would have survived the long ordeal.
Are you serious?
So what did I think it was? I hate these titles.
One of my least favorite Stones album. Only a couple great tunes. The rest just filler crap.
go play your foo fighters greatest hits
Says you and you alone !
Are you unwell?
