this is a helpful video however the presenter forgot to mention you need to prime the black filters first...also wash the unit well with soap right out of the box. just a couple of suggestions for new users (like me) thanks, Joe
The included quick start guide for my Berkey light is clearly for the stainless steel model. I’m having a mental block with all of this & the red dye test.
If yours has 4 holes instead of 2 like mine did, don't forget to put the rubber stoppers in the extra holes or your water will just go through unfiltered. Also mine didn't snap at all when it was being assembled and didn't take any pressure to put together. Oh and don't forget to prime the black elements which is in a separate video... ("How to Prime the Berkey Filters")
Wow that is small! I thought it would be a lot bigger than that. I might be able to find some space after all! I would be interested in seeing how the other filters (for the fluoride) fit in this as well. This is one of the next things on my "must have" list. Thanks for taking the time to show this.
Thank you Berkey. I just picked up my Berkey Light with PF2 filter's at the Brave New Bookstore in Austin Texas. Can't wait to get this assembled and get off of the toxic fluoride. Fluoride Free Austin or bust!
After doing much research..came across this video..and the demonstrator did an awesome job easing my anxiety about the assembly part, however I am SUPER SO confused..I want the Berkey Light, but after reading so many conflicting stories from buyers on other websites I am having second thoughts. I just would really like a nice, clean and safe water filtration system for my family.😢
I have 4 holes and 2 filters, the little block things escapes water and I filled it up with water and water doesn’t come down yet. I did not order the fluoride one but it would have been better.
If you're going to spend the money, save up until you can buy the metal one. The light has tons of problems. I'm on 2nd spout tank and second set of filters (first ones died waiting on spout replacement). Have used about a week total.
For what it's worth, I personally used the Berky light for 4 years as my first system because it was all I could afford at the time. We loved the ability to see the water and it was kinda cool watching it filter the water. However, some prefer the stainless look and that housing does go well with stainless appliances.
@adelelles Yes, the PF-2 fluoride and arsenic filter would be shown hanging in the lower chamber of this system. The screw onto the stems of the black berkeys (8 revolutions).
lol mine just came without a hole for the spigot. i came to watch this video to make sure we weren't supposed to drill our own hole out hahaha. guess i will contact customer service now
I find “the Berkey experience” to be very disappointing, personally. It’s very slow and the base only holds 1.75 litres of water. The rest is just empty space.
The slower filtration is by design as longer contact time between the water and the filter media itself results in higher purification rates. As for the volume in the lower chamber, if you have the fluoride filters installed, it will reduce the volume from approx 2.75 gallons to 2.25 gallons.

Yep that's why I gave the video a thumbs down.
super duper helped me in taking apart my Berkey after not using it for about 1 year! Thanks!

Good demonstration, simple and to the point 👌. Thx

How do you get the water from the upper chamber to the lower chamber then if all the holes are blocked up?
@@carlitob6731 it goes through the filters

Thank you so much for making it simple to put together instead of all that jargon on the instruction notes.

I am going to buy either the Berkey light or the stainless steal model.

Had I seen this before buying my Berkey light, I would have bought the Berkey Royal.

Spout tank?
I’m trying to decide if I should get the plastic or metal water filtration tank

what if the spout holder doesn't "snap" into the base, it just sits there
Same
Good vid, but I would have liked to have seen the PF2's in there as well...
Did not answer my questions. You didn't show how to deal with the filters. Do I use both black and both fluoride filters. How to flush...
Please visit our UA-cam page and you will find other videos at the top that will address and answer these questions for you.
Berkey light 2 hole or 4 ? I heard the the 4 hole one weakens the plastic top container .....Anyone ?
The berkey light only comes with the 4 holes. There is no 2 hole option.

Don’t waste your money on the Berkey Light. The plastic cracked just below the spigot after only 10 months of use!
Don’t you have to prime the filters first???

@@Bigberkeywaterfilters I’m definitely not getting 2.25 gallons with the fluoride filters installed. I’m getting 1.75 litres.
Mine was delivered and had missing parts. I left a message at you 877 number. Waiting for a reply.
