    Thank u so much. For years I’ve had my sewing machine & I couldn’t figure out to do button holes. Now I can do it both ways. Very much appreciated. 👍🙏

    That was a good clear presentation of a pretty baffling subject. The last time I used the automatic buttonholer on my Husqavarna 116, it was a disaster because the stitches just bunched up. The cloth was a faux suede, quite thin, although I used interfacing. I was able to unpick the whole thing and use the manual C foot and it was much better.

    Thank you! Unfortunately, it seems my buttonhole lever to reverse for the second side is not working. So the second method worked well. I had to manually turn it around but still fairly easy.

    My buttonholes used to come out nicely thanks to this video but now the left side is good but right side coming down it makes just either almost straight line or very loose zigzag...any idea ?

    I'm glad I used the c foot. I only did because I had a button over 1" in size but when I tested my auto buttonhole foot it seemed a little off and I feel like I have more control with the "c" foot.

    Great video, I wish you had had the pattern marking on the material so we could how to do it in relationship as to *where* to do it. I practiced with the included button hold foot but I did not know to chose the reset button and the machine just kept going and going. Plus I practiced without a button in the foot. Yes, I have the Emerald 116 too. Again, thanks for this video.

    I have found that when I use the automatic buttonhole foot, that the buttonhole actually comes out larger than the button...... not by much, but enough that when the buttonhole is cut, it is a little too big , and the garment unbuttons itself. I have to go back and zigzag the tops or bottoms of the buttonhole, to make it slightly smaller. I have just begun using the C foot, and its so much better, as I have more control of the size.

    When using the automatic button hole foot the stitching is different on one side than the other. As I do the first side, the stiching looks good, on the second side the stitching is not as close together. I’ve also found the same experience when using the manual foot C. What am I doing wrong?

      I wonder if there is a buttonhole balance set button. Janomes have them and it's usually located on the far right side of the machine or somewhere on the front of the machine when you take off the free-arm piece.

    Thank you!!! Your videos have been life savers learning my machine!!! What kind of cord did you use for the corded button hole?

    The automatic buttonholer on the Emerald 116 is problematic . Hard to slip on and off to connect the foot , particularly to remove the foot.. hard to get a hold on it and pull out of the little slot.

      @@patimorin8688 No I never figured it out. I pulled the lever and followed every step perfectly. Im probably going to take the sewing machine up to the shop and get it serviced. Mine is definitely just broke

    I love my 116 but that buttonhole function is garbage. I had a cheap brother before this and it made buttonholes like a champ.

    • @HeirloomCreations

      It might just need an adjustment. Make sure you are using stabilizer under the fabric too.

    • @rhodamurphy2097
      @rhodamurphy2097 2 роки тому

      I couldn't agree more. It is cheaply made and hard to get on and off and the button sizer doesn't slip back and forth easily.

    • @rhodamurphy2097
      @rhodamurphy2097 2 роки тому

      I agree the buttonholer looks like something you would get out of a crackerjack box. Okay for doing buttonholes on cotton fabric but anything thicker forget it.

    I tried to follow you but you speak so fast and do not slow down to show your viewers exactly where to find levers etc. As a beginner, please try to remember we don’t know our machine or know how to sew but desperately trying to learn during this pandemic. Please slow down. Thanks.

      You can slow any UA-cam video down in the settings area.

    • @rhodamurphy2097

      I had to adjust the playback speed on this video to slow you down. It is under settings. You talk much too fast.

      @HeirloomCreations  3 роки тому

      You can always adjust the speed to be a little slower in the UA-cam settings.

    • @rhodamurphy2097
      @rhodamurphy2097 2 роки тому

      Use the playback speed under settings at the bottom of the video. Set it at a50 or 75%
