    The conflict of the play is something I've been wondering about for a decade. Thank you for this.

    It is amazing how a literature work can have infinte lives and interpretation. Anyway Prospero (accent on the first syllable if we consider this character with an Italian name) is an exile, Prospero is a fictional reflection of the person who wrote the play.

    i love the way you describe the play, it gives a lot of clarity. The idea that the true conflict is within prospero is something i definitely overlooked, thus is such a good way of explaining the plays meaning. it also relates better to the idea that prosper is seen as shakespeare speaking through him as he’s coming to the end of his playwright career as i imagine this would have caused him conflict

    CAN WE GET TO KNOW ABOUT THE CONTRAST BETWEEN NATURE AND SOCIETY IN THE PLAY

    • @bossybuddha
      @bossybuddha Рік тому +1

      Yes, all of Nature and all of society above and below, since it deals with the physical and the magical.
      For nature, we come to understand the power of knowledge over nature, and how wisely in keeping with ethics we must govern.
      With society, in keeping with our inner society we must understand that compassion and forgiveness is the only way out of the island, because all souls must come to realize the shackles that binds them and escape it through struggles and ordeals that manifest as religiosity, if they know how to answer.

    What is Caliban's relationship with Sycorax? Is it positive or?

    • @Nancenotes
      @Nancenotes  Рік тому +1

      There is virtually no information about their relationship, whether positive or negative, except for the idea of inheritance-the island was initially claimed by Sycorax, and she passed it on to Caliban.

    • @bossybuddha
      @bossybuddha Рік тому

      Negative. Much like the way of a ruling tyrant, we only understand the brief limits or boundaries of the land through their reign, but the penetrative insight came from outside, from Prospero because he taught all of the islanders how to understand for themselves phenomenon and things which they had not, because of the love of books and secret knowledge that Prospero had inherited. Before that Caliban is a mute savage, howling only to the midnight Moon, but the midnight Sun Caliban did not know to navigate until the office of Prospero.

    Milan is pronounced mil-arn not milun

      It actually was Milun when Shakespear wrote the play.
