In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Be sure to stay subscribed to stay up to date with my latest expeditions, y'all!
That unboxing by you was magic! So organized. Excellent example of how to keep a job like that under control. And I note you not only saved all that metal from the landfill but also all the paper boxes and cardboard are going to be recycled. Save the Earth and make some cash too! ❤🌎👏
Thank you. Being organized is a big part of efficiency
It was soo therapeutic to watch.
I've know too many scrappers that end up hoarders . They pile it up all over the place, never sort it out and put stuff in storage units!!!! Angel from Norfolk VA
The only thing more impressive than your finds scavenging is the order and neatness when preparing for a scrap yard run! I’m kinda a neat freak and love it! Keep on scavenging Mike! 🇺🇸
Mike is definitely organized. I've watched other scrappers and they drivevme crazy how disorganized they are. Mike always gets a A++++++
If he lived near me, I'd try to hire him to organize my garage. Right now, it looks like a thrift store truck just backed up and dumped a load there. I had to clean out a garage that my mom had, and I haven't had the time to sort and tidy up.
Nice haul Mike! How is that new "Penny" doing. She has such a sweet face. You can't make the scar's disappear on the outside but love will heal her heart. Love heals all things.
She’s doing fabulous! We are still calling her Mercy and it’s starting to stick I think.
I don’t think I’ll ever go the puppy route again. Too many precious baby’s need adopting
Thanks for taking her Mike. Your a great man!
I loved the name Mercy glad you kept it. You and Mrs. Mike are da bomb.
You earned every penny of that Mike. Have a cold one and relax a minute. See you again soon. Thanks for showing this follow up.
They are contactors (switches), saleable as is, love how you turned $4,000 into $178 so efficiently.
They're cheap and it would have taken him a year to sell them if not longer. Maybe you have a ton of storage space but he doesn't.
You're killing me, Mike. I think you had good resale stuff there.
Hvac contactors are worth $10-30 each.
@@drewaholic8009 so 20,000 to 60,000 he scraped for pennies on the dollar
A phone call to the 4 largest HVAC contractors would have had those sold at $5 each in less than week. Mike you need some salespeople.
@@randywilliams787would have take a lifetime to sell 2000 of those lol
those look like contactors used in HVAC systems, if so they are worth a lot to heating and cooling companies
Double pole contactors . The price is pretty much dependent on the coil voltage. Low voltage / 28 vAC. Higher voltage / 110--220 vAC. The Lower voltage are on HVAC residential , the higher voltage are more for a chilled water system or for commercial units over 7.5 ton. Some electric heat strips use them to engage the voltage on the heat coils. (Electric heat, mobile homes etc. )

Love to hear the scrap yard run tune, makes me smile.
When pushing heavier materials with your broom Mike, flip it upside down, use the top of the broom. Works much better.
Wow not bad money from trash and some for resale!!!! Awesome loved the air guitar! 👍🙂👍✌🎸
Love, Love the truckbed guitar solo always rocking, good work thanks for everything Uncle Mikey rock on 🤘 🤘🤘
I love it too!
Thanks for the update. It is hot like the devil no breeze til late in the day.
Dang, man. Look at those shadows move.
And the trash bags.
Doesn't matter there was no copper you still made Bank on them , and didn't even go to the yard with the rest. Love the videos Mike I didn't start scraping till 82 . I only scraped aluminum and copper being in the construction business replaced thousands of windows and and tore down so many aluminum structures to build real additions probably took enough in to build a B17 with engines. Keep it up brother.👍👍
did he make bank? looked like sub $10/hr in time.
Very successful job! Glove your broomtar playing. Waiting for the next one. Thank you Mike.
Thank you Mike ! I love the scrap yard trips !
I love to scrap very addicting, you never know what your gonna find it’s amazing what people throw out .
Mike your one of the FEW I will watch the ads for. Nice haul for you. It was nice to even see you doing all the work for that money! Thanks for sharing can't wait for the next one!
Nice payout Mike. You did good!!!! Money for someone's trash is priceless!
Broom Guitar player with nice sounds.... Love it. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Fantastic job today mike!!! S.o great to see you at the scrap yard to !
This video is why you're my favorite scrapper!
NICE! STILL LOVIN' THE AIR GUITAR, MIKE.🇺🇲💕
Brother, you can tell you are not from the south where I live! Your yard is immaculate. Where I live, scrappers yards look like the back of your truck! Outstanding!
be safe Thanks for sharing Great video
98 here in north texas about 10 miles from the red river. HOT, DRY and no wind and my neighbor called just now and asked if I could come down and help him take down there trampoline and a swing set for the metal so he could mow under them. I told him lets wait intell about 7 or 8 after it cools down and I will mow your yard for you in the morning. he said ok sounds good. he is 82 and still out there in this heat wanting to take this stuff apart. Heck I just got finished feeding my pigs, goats, horses and cattle and I look like I fell in the swimming pool I am so wet from sweat and wore out from the heat and I'm 62. this old man cant take the heat like I use too. Time too set down and watch ol mike,s videos for a while.
That's great your getting .10 cents a pound in AZ my one yard just dropped to 4 cents a pound! Totally sucks I dropped 920 pounds of light iron made a whopping $36 bucks! Scrap on!!
Loved the air guitar solo!!!!
Oh my gosh! When you see that all separated- boxes, cardboard, and parts, it's mind-boggling what you saved from a landfill! Kudos! That was a ton of work to get that done, thank you for taking care of planet Earth. It has been terribly hot. Stay hydrated, stay safe and GOD bless
I guessed 1800 lbs. But had no idea you'd get that much money. Super!
Love seeing how hard u try to keep all this recycling organized. Thanks for doing ur part
Not to bad at all...thanks for the hard work to keep the landfills less nasty...
Love the riff!
Go have a cool one, Mike!!! I just did. But mine was grape flavored.
Love how organized and orderly you are !!😊
That was pretty good Mike, I do miss the guitar solo behind ur truck very funny
Hell, my scrap yard would have taken the full box, No prep necessary. Ty for taking us along
Loved this episode. I would have come to help you take the stuff out of the boxes. But I live in Canada soooo. Lol. Keep it up Mike my husband and I love watching you.
Good Afternoon My Good Bro Mike The Scavenger
I had to do this recently with a bunch of gear from gas station vacuums. Boxes and boxes of pre packaged spare plugs/ power supplies/control boards etc. So much tedious work, but i enjoyed it.
Hard work payed off, now take a break and have a cup of something you like 😉👍
Amazing cardboard and packaging stripping job done. Glad you got some gas money for the next dumpster diving missions.
Keep on scrappin!!
Your narrative at all times, puts a smile on my face. You are really funny at times. I enjoy watching your scraping and hearing you describe everything. Thanks.
Nice vids Mike. Go on and have fun.
Martin from the Netherlands 🇱🇺
Mike I'm sitting home from broken bones and have enjoyed you going out and finding your pot of gold.
I'm in air-conditioned comfort and being cared for by rehabilitation home.
Mike please stay hydrated and in a cooler place. Thank you for being entertainment while I heal. Stay safe to you and yours.
Mike is the best air guitarist in the world!
I appreciate the humor and commentary during the videos.
Thanks for sharing! Love watching you scrap!Always loaded with so much energy and strength. Great attitude!👍👏👏👏
The little musical interlude in the back of the truck was funny.
My guess is that white Honda Accord always parked out in front of Mike's house is his going around town car. I cant possibly see him taking the old lady out in the scrap mobile, or maybe it isnt ;-)
Dang.. your yard pays well.. I did a drop today of angle iron and very clean metal. Only got .07 a pound. Well done, Mike!!
My yards are down to .05 here in Iowa . I'm leaving the shred sit , can't afford to take it in anymore . 😟
.02 cents a couple weeks ago. I don't like asking people for gas money to grab their shred, so I've told people I'm taking a break. Too hot, too cheap lol
This economy sucks! 😒
I took some the other day and mine also was .07 in NW Louisiana
Thanks for all the hard work and time you put into all these videos ☺️
That was a good trip gas is really crushing profit if you're just taking steel tho. I have one yard for steel and aluminum and another I take all my copper stuff to because they pay double what the other yard does.
I think it’s great what you kept out of the landfill! Even the cardboard ❤️👏👏
Mike, eres genial me he visto ya todos tus videos y me entretienen mucho. Un saludo desde España.
GO MIKIE, YOU EARNED YOUR SCRAP MONEY ON THIS ONE.
Saw below someone asked about Mercy glad she's doing well love helps all. Glad too see follow up too the box dumpster. My arms hurt just watching all that!!! Lol
bout spit out my tea when you bust out with the air guitar lol
Mike to ty jesteś prawdziwym ekologiem, obrońca środowiska!!! Gratuluję
Try carpet cleaning companies with the Vaccum hose. It may fit their machines.
Mike, you have the patience of a saint & a stick to it work ethic! You made getting thru all those boxes look effortless and your persistence certainly paid off!! Great job! Thanks for taking us along.
Nice job Mike! Organizing skills in there!👏👏👏👍
That was a whole lot of little boxes 📦 😂..
I want to know how long it actually took him to do all this.
@@gazb87yorkshiresalt48 I was also curious about that.
Mike Mike Mike you the man.free money in the dumpster. You do you.
You deserve every penny you make my man... Good job!!
Great show. I always love the guitar solo with the broom. 🤙
You have changed our opinion about the scrap collector. You are a respected and diligent person and love your work. These are the qualities of a superior human being. Despite your hard work, we notice that you maintain cleanliness... Continue and try to thank God because people love you more day by day... Greetings from Kurdistan
Wow you work fast mike 🙈💕
I know you were miserable doing that in the heat, like you said, it would have been nice to find that in the winter instead. You are such a hard worker Mike, I challenge ANYONE that says otherwise to spend a week doing what you do and in the Houston heat/humidity. I live in Phoenix area and actually love the heat, but there's no denying it takes a toll on you (and it's a DRY heat! 🤣🤣)
Love what you do and sharing it with us. I hope between the $178 PLUS the UA-cam income from the 2 videos it was worth your while.
I 💙 MTS! 🐼🧦💪😰🤩
Loved seeing what you got for the haul.
Those windings were definitely not magnetic. If only 5% of those contractors was copper (I'm sure it's more), at today's no 2 price it would've made approximately 260$ extra. Worth scrapping for sure.
Brilliant as always Mike😍😍😍
All those have silver contacts inside you had a huge jackpot of money right there!
So stoked to see the broom solo is still blazing. Yeah Mick get it
Well darn, thought you were gonna hit a real good luck with them. Oh well, it will happen.
Thats was worth the trip
Have a great weekend Mr.Scavenger
Thanks Mike!! Take care and stay cooln everyone!!💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜
Nicely done again! And, we got another musical interlude! Way to go Mike!!
Found few box of these contacts myself last year no where as many as you found Mike. My yard gave me transformer weight on them . ,65lb
I was patiently waiting for the broom air guitar and you didn't disappoint 🤣❤
Yes indeed!!!... Quite epic!.. God bless...
I watch that JBL video earlier that's cool it still works. And you are so organized I love watching your videos
My boy, always an adventure.
That’s good money right there!!!
I've been waiting for this one
You are flipping amazing. Your wife is so fortunate to have you.
A eso le llamo ser paciente se paso una buena cantdad de cajas y cajitas buena maestro !!!!!
Aww, air guitar! You're a virtuoso at air guitar! Awesome scrap run! #WatchYoHead #MTSScavengerKing #GottaBeStrong have a great day friends! Weekend is almost here!
Where did you get your hat
Great haul! The prices are going down FAST! My yard is down to 7¢ for shred. Keep looking for quality and don’t stop picking 👍🏻
You are Killing it Mike, keep rocking and scrapping it out.
Mike, the actual Contact PAD on those are usually SILVER or a silver alloy. Its the part that actually makes the connection. Some of the good ones are PURE SILVER. 😎🇺🇸
I really like this video! Amazing!!
The black part with a yellow ribbon that you tested in the magnet at 0:40 is the coil of contactors, it is a copper wire winding. I hope you sold separately from the rest of the material.
When sweeping out the truck bed with bigger stuff I flip my push broom over and use the wood piece to push stuff out first then sweep out small stuff...
Dang I thought that bailing wire would have brought more money than that because it was clean... nice guitar riff with the broom
It be nice if you recycle all the boxes too
I have become addicted to the way you organise as you go around picking. I don’t watch the videos I used to because I get grumpy with the slack way they go about the job. Keep thinking I should send them links to your site but I figure they wouldn’t appreciate it! 🤣
