- An original song by the American rock band The Beach Boys, "God Only Knows" was composed and produced by Brian Wilson with lyrics by Tony Asher.
As performed by The BEE Sharps in the video game BioShock Infinite, set in 1912, where a time rift leads a musician to plagiarize the song more than fifty years before it was written.
Arranged for TTBB barbershop by Clay Hine.
NAILED IT. Thanks for bringing me back to Bioshock Infinite for a minute. You also somewhat encouraged me. My range is spotty, mostly tenor (why am I missing entire portions of octaves??). You showed that its possible to hit just low enough to cover both basses without having a super low, frog-like for lower bass. Another one of those videos that justifies a 'Love' button on YT...not wife love tho, just bro-love
thanks for your nice comment! :) what I usally do is record the bass parts in the early morning right after waking up (and ideally having sung a lot the day before for my voice to be a bit tired) so that I can reach those "low" notes. tenor parts are recorded in the afternoon after a proper warmup. also you can fine tune a lot in the mix, like making the bass sound more full or adding some gloss to the tenor parts by using eq, compression, reverb, panning.. with some practise, strategy and effort you can really achieve a lot!
The transition into the last verse at 1:29 gave me chills. Smooth and powerful. Great rendition of one of the most iconic musical moments in gaming.

Knowing the lore of bioshock infinite, this song does nothing but stab me in the heart when I think of Elizabeth and everything that happens in the game, this version is beautiful

It's sad that you fiddled with the rhyhtm and allowed awkward pauses, silences and transitions into the piece, because you're harmonically perfect!
Kinda mechanical... great singing! Accent is noticeable, but not obnoxious. But yeah, the "singing to a click track" mojo is strong.
