- After dealing with the wasps in the last video! we crack on ploughing the 50 acre field with the JCB Fastrac 3170 and 5 furrow Dowdeswell DP7E plough. Don't forget i'll be at the Irish National Ploughing Championships on the applied Concepts stand 268, Block 2, Row 15.

Nice to get behind the wheel and do a bit of ploughing. The only reason i gave the Fastrac back was i needed to get home to the dogs!

I do miss ploughing, but its great to watch a plough man taking pride in the job and wants to make the best job possible. Keep it up George your doing a great job
Your ploughing looked great George and it was lovely to see Liz tramping along there as well. The old Fastrac certainly takes it all in her stride very comfortably and wow, those lights are something else. You’ll enjoy your time in Ireland, they are tractor mad over there! Enjoy. 🚜👍😊

Didn't see any Fastrac's yesterday at West Grinstead ploughing match pulling a plough at least, had a very tidy and sweet sounding Muir Hill in action.

That’ll be a good shake down for the old girl after her rebuild. Pity about the pipe, I didn’t release I poor some of them can be 😳. Would love to put mine on a plough and see how she fairs… previously someone has had a go and damaged her 😩🤦♂.

was thinking you had a reverser fan fitted. As 8.28 straw blows off the side of the engine grill. Coincidentally it's the same place as your burst air line.

Hey George The way I would have sorted those Wasps out was to use the plough and stayed in the cab so you did the way I would have done so!
You be best spraying petrol over those wasps and igniting the ground around it that sort them nasty buggers out?

How dose the connection work from the tractor, to the lights on the plow?
FASTRAC is ploughing well. Lucky it didnt break down next to the wasp nest
Mold board plowing has become an abandoned practice in my area. More & more no-till due to rainfall concerns.👌
we have rainfall concerns also here .............our concern is will it ever stop raining ...........

I think you should of had the headlights so you could switch between the 2 sets.. surely the bottom ones bounce light off the box
My dad went over a wasp nest in the 70s they came in the cab he was sting about 20 times he had to leave the tractor there and walk when he got home he couldn't open his eyes 2 days later the went back in the dark to get the tractor a plough master 78 by the way 😮
You should try to get a furrow for the back of the plough make it a six furrow for the fast track
How do you set up the auto steer for in furrow ploughing? I’ve the same system and been messing with it today but can’t get it right
So Richard the main thing is your plough needs to be set exactly the same both ways, not easy with an old plough and even trickier in furrow. Work out the width of each furrow and enter that as your width, do a pass, turn round and enter the furrow again, see how far off centre you are, use that information to alter the width. Keep doing that until you get it dialed in. The other easier option is when you enter the furrow just recenter your line.
