    Well done Hannah, (again). Thought I'd go back and look at one of your early (Northern Viet) travel vlogs, cos I've become addicted to your production discipline and editing skills. I traveled through Northern Vietnam with my wife and 19-year-old daughter and took that same bus up from the Old Quarter in Hanoi. I found, like yourself though, the only way to do Ha Long Bay is on a tour boat, and I truly hate tour groups. Especially when stuck 'on a boat'. But we found a great old boat with a gorgeous big room with immense windows. We did a two-day tour, so stayed overnight. I will never forget the sunrise. And the early morning kayaking into those small bays, the cycle ride out on one of the island, the caves and the opportunity to just jump off the boat and swim. The extra time afforded us a bit more relaxation in the location.

    My friend and I took a sea plane to ha long bay. We got to land on water which was very cool. Felt like a James Bond film. On the way back we took a taxi. Our driver was on a mission, constantly overtaking on the wrong side of the road. I was knackered so would randomly wake up to find us on the wrong side of the road driving into oncoming traffic, only for our driver to pull back in with seconds to spare. That was a fun experience.

    Welcome to Ha Long bay,
    That is very informative video. Nowday many people prefer to visit Ha Long bay from Cat Ba island. From the island you can have chance to visit another bay called Lan Ha bay that has been voted as one of the most beautiful bay in the world. Trekking and rock climbing at Cat Ba national park also is an option. We hope to see you again in Vienam, especially to visit Cat Ba islan. Thanks for sharing the video

    Your trip looks amazing, nice job with the drone. It does look a little scary traveling on your own. You have a lot of courage.

    Been there - did the overnight boat trip on an amazing Chinese junk but stayed in small hotel on Cat Bao island as opposed to sleeping on boat - much more confortable.
    Then got a little old Vietnamese grandma to buy me scores of strings of local pearls at the markets at ridiculous low price as she relentlessly bargained the price down. I’ve been giving out these strings of pearls to get things done ever since.
    Best of all the water was like a glass mirror reflecting a smokey sky and hazy sun (totally surreal) and only saw two other boats in two days.

    Excellent! First you give me Sapa, and now, a day cruise works- I'm not a kayaker nor each man. Caves? Meh. Been there as a young man, now, a lot less busy in my plans. I was considering the TWO Night Cruise, but shall do the single night. I wonder whether the "Overnight Sleeper" bus I've heard of goes from Haiphong or where the port for Ha Long bay is, to Hue? Your skill with your drone is superb. Thanks you're wonderful! Harry, xx

    Such an amazing footage of your Halong Bay experience. You must have had a blast cruising and kayaking. If you spend overnight on the boat, you will enjoy the serenity of Halong Bay at night and perhaps also catch some squids, too. You can check out our channel for more videos of beautiful Halong Bay.

    Hello Im planning to solo traveling in Hanoi on Oct, what is the safest transportation? And another thing, is it safe to do kayaking alone though I cant swim?

    • @danny48834
      @danny48834 5 років тому

      By train, a little slow but safe and you get to see the country. Kayaking is okay i would not recommend to do it alone. Bus can be unsafe.

    • @elmira2148
      @elmira2148 5 років тому

      @@danny48834 no I mean transporation in Hanoi City, I think there is no train there

    • @danny48834
      @danny48834 5 років тому

      In Hanoi motorbikes is better if you know how to ride one. Travel through the country train is better. Buses is a little bit dangerous.

    • @CurrentlyHannah
      @CurrentlyHannah  7 років тому +2

      Hey! Have the best time there! I didn't have any issues flying the drone in Vietnam :) Just be sure to fly it safely away from people - as you normally would. You're bound to get some incredible shots!

    • @ThirdGuevara
      @ThirdGuevara 7 років тому

      I flew my drone at the roof deck of the boat yesterday. Then it suddenly moved while the drone was 500m away, I had a mini heart attack! I had to figure out how to land it on a moving boat. LOL :D Overall the drone experience in Ha Long Bay is awesome, no radio interference, GPS is 16 satellites and the scenery is just meant to be shot above! Check out the video I posted today, it has the drone footages of Ha Long Bay.

    I did the 2 day tour of Ha Long Bay and I enjoyed it but myself and most of the rest of guest said they did not sleep well. We did a couple of things that you didn't on the one day tour but I would not feel slighted if I did the one day tour. My biggest let down was the junk floating in the water....sad. I did like you then and took the train to SaPa....BEST part of Vietnam! (SaPa not the train...I would recommend taking a bus over the train much quicker)
