Keep up the good work! I'm really looking forward to using your program and will definitely support it, even as a student. Programs like Nuke are just too expensive for me, so I'll always support fair pricing policies.
But after effects its more about motion graphics Im not sure, but think, that IllusionFX is more about compositing, and not like to do logo/text animation, it cant replace AfterEffects (although I would really like that)
Will the paid version be able to be modified for pipeline integration ? Also being able to create our own tools and plugins or modify some stuff like Up to down node structure ?
Yes you will be able to create your own effects/plug-ins, customize shortcuts. For the node structure, I received a lot of requests to implement it as vertical instead of horizontal. What are your thoughts on this ?
@@satay71 fusion also have layer window for adjusting animation and that can do notion graphics too. i highly doubt illusion fx will be able to compete with fusion or even nuke
Nice, but... 100% of what I saw here looks - a lot - like BMD Fusion Studio (even layers UI)... Just what I noticed, no provocation or troll honestly. Is it normal ?
Thanks for your interest. Well, maybe the look, but the way you interact with it (UX) is completely different. It is more of a mix between Nuke (nodes) and After effects (layers)
@HollywoodIllusionVFX No offense - but yes, real interest - but 2 remarks : 1/ AE doesn't exist in my mind, it just never competed anything so trust me there's no gain quoting it anyhow ;) ; 2/ Fusion is yet something exactly as Nuke and you do there whatever you can do on Nuke. I understand you want to promote the layers feature but... it still exists : the spline editor, the keyframes editor are layer based in Fusion. This just because your software is very interesting for many reasons, but imho the reason people would like it or the way you promote it talking about layers are maybe not so relevant. I think it's really an awesome alternative... but not because of layers I still work with in Fusion ;)
Yes I understand what you mean 🙂 Regarding fusion, its keyframes panel is not very intuitive. As a comparison, AE UX is much better for that. The keyframes being a diamond (and not 1 pixel width), the easy way you trim layers (in/out points), the little arrow next to each track to go back and forth to each keyframe on that track etc. That’s what I am talking about when I mention UX, and that’s pretty much the only interesting thing AE has. Anyway, you are right about not marketing IllusionFX as an AE replacement
@HollywoodIllusionVFX Ok, my pleasure. Usually one havea "grab distance" in preferences to ease the KF grab. Anyway yes, as a guy into matte painting, set extensions, CGI and 3D inclusions etc etc, from a certain level strictly nobody talks about the poor AE, so it would indeed be better for you to advertise your app as a Nuke or Fusion team belonger (because hey, it may be interpreted as "it's the least you can do" to do better than the lowest if you race here ;) ). Also I didn't invent anything : be prepared to be consistently compared to Fusion because it's UX is very very close ;) Anyway, good continuation because it's obviously cool :)
@HollywoodIllusionVFX If posible do try to insert the great features of other apps into this. Like for example the shortcuts of blender for example s scale from wherever your cursor is or hitting right click on unknown icons to find the online manual of the function on the web browser. And there are many other apps like DaVinci resolves good features. Yeah I know the fact I don't know much how an app is made under the hood with coding but still I just wanted to tell you if it is possible as you are helping a lot of small and struggling creators.
Thanks for the initiative looking forward for this, Lets test and have some fun!

Any plans for AMD GPU support?
Not for the v1, but I keep it in the backlog for the next versions 🙂
Good luck
Thanks 🤩
This will be the DaVinci Resolve for VFX!!
so davinci fusion?
@jimderks3340 but better. The layers feature is a big plus.
@@satay71 Yep sounds good, wondering if it will be just for indv shots or if there also will tab for conforming/timelines
