100% agree. The kids acted more like kids in this episode than any other, except maybe episode 1. Jod knows that Brutus was not among the pirates that were on Lenupa. He knows the seriousness of the situation, and his conversation with Wim all but confirmed that the kids have no idea what's in store. I, too, believe that he turned on the kids to stop their goofing around, and so that they would have to rely on Jod to get them out of there. Not gonna lie, though, KB understood all of SM-33's directions to fly the Onyx Cinder. I thought they'd make it back to the ship and escape back home BEFORE Jod and the pirates caught up to them. That way, they could have just enough time to use that massive cannon on top of their school. Now, they still might use it, but with Jod there.

Jods going to have to save KB with force heal . As I commented in the last video I truly believe he was trying to get control of the droid ASAP to keep the children safe . More pirates and bounty hunters will be on the planet soon . This puts the children in grave danger . It wasn't a look of anger when everything unfolded last episode . It was a look of frustration . I've seen that look on my face many times while Raising my kids . Maybe he should have used a different way . I don't believe he'd feel using a mind trick on a preteen girl . Also the last time he probably had to deal with children may have been during the purge and if he was in his late teens / early 20s it probably was very unpleasant . So it explains his attitude and unpleasantness with them . The last time a child didn't listen may have ended in death . I feel for him there . He's obviously suffering from PTSD . That's why he seems mostly drawn to Wim . I believe Wim may have trauma in his past because of his mother .
Without a doubt, Jod challenged for the captaincy, because it was the right thing to do. The kids were making kid decisions. Like, at the very beginning of the episode, they told SM33 to "take us there" and he immediately broke free of his restraints. That whole situation could have gone south so fast. An adult in charge would have taken more precautions, and also would have said to take us there, right away. Putting a little more thought into what they were doing, and they could have avoided everything that happened in the episode. And you saw that Jod was sick of having to deal with the kids making these bad choices. So he did the only logical and safe thing, challenged for the captaincy.
do pirate captains also go down with their ship? because that seems noble, as does relieving the kids of the strain of being in charge. really wanting jod to be a sith, but it all seems pretty honorable so far. cautious, absurdist, but not too un-jedi-like
@@astrocoastalprocessor I'm not sure how often pirate captains went down with their ship, but if he really just wanted to relieve Fern of her status as captain, for nefarious reasons, he would have hurt her and had it done with. You don't have to be a Sith, or Jedi, to be a Force user.
@@astrocoastalprocessor I think his back story is going to be that he literally just started his training, when order 66 happened. During those events, the Jedi would have done anything and hired anyone, to take the younglings away from the Emperor. Jod was taken in by pirates, and became one.
6:31 he needs to become captain because, for story telling sake. pirates aren't gonna hold back or be lenient to children... if there was ever an attack from an opposing pirate company, those kids would be dead in the second if it went captain versus captain.
It's black and white. Jod Na IS a Pirate Captain. Fern is a teenager with zero experience! Capability don't enter in to it! To save the party's lives, Jod Na needed to take complete control without delay or explanation. Hence his drastic action. And the wisest move was to get SM33 to auto-cover his back, instead of Fern's!
@michaelsullivan3581 *hear me out, Saw Gerrera from Rouge One is played by Forrest Whittaker. Whose to say Jod isn't Remy, and this is just the future of Repo Men
@@SomeTheorist9090 Jod was literally capitan of the show intro called Silvo back then. And he's adult. He is good at controlling his team to make goal happen. Fern is child, unexperienced capitan. Jod learned to love these kids. He took a mask of evil pirate to take capitan role for the safety of the kids.
@LukiKruki Fern is a more capable captain than Jod could have ever been. She earned the title Captain. Jod just stole the Captainship. He may be the better pirate--but he wasn't a good captain or person.
I think there is a possibility that Rennord could have been the supervisor for a wile. But that means SM-33 lied again. The fact that Tak was stabbed to death with his own dagger, fits with the skeleton that Jod took the dagger from. So I still think he still died in the crash. But the droids can still be in control and the Supervisor can be a droid from the beginning.
No review from me today but i wish all of your viewers here and yourself a happy and healthy and full starwars good news to come in 2025 and may the force be with you all.
those KB lines, I thought about those lines as well , could be foreshadowing ,but their on a moon planet at night , that some how has air , it probably was cold , even Jod wraps his scarf around himself , and the mud pits , they are gross , a young girl not wanting to go down there isnt surprising , although , I do think her health will come into play , i still predict Jod will give up the treasure to save her
I agree, Jod was trying to be the only adult in the room...when the kids were constantly messing around the whole episode. They are going to get everyone killed, and Jod realizes it. He will come back for them.
Boba Fett is interesting cause anyone IRL ive talked too in there 40s loved it , a s2 would HELP so much . Honestly its wild how all the shows that were rough were ones who arguably shoulda been movies and the shows being shows again really do well . Im rooting for them to take the lessons learned with how they pace themselves . KB is a fav of mine too , I am SO invested
When we 1st see Boba in Empire, he's mysterious, quiet and cool with badass armor. In the series, he's loud, obnoxious, animated and not reserved, not cool at all and has his helmet off 90% of the time. If you ignore Empire Boba, the show is still cool. It's like seeing your grandmother drunk at the New Years party. Awkward.
I'm in my 40's and although I didn't love BoBF, just a few too many flaws, I got enough enjoyment out of it that I'd happily watch S2 if they make one.
Completely agree! Jodd realized the best way to repel their collective foe was to assume control of the ship. A ship’s helm isn’t a democracy & he was best suited to navigate what he saw as an increasing existential threat to the whole crew
Great catch that he's leading them with that lightsaber on his belt. He's not going to have a redemption. He's already redeemed and has every intention to help the kids. He was obviously trying to confuse SM33 who's been a pain in the ass for this whole mission. I thought 33 could've been Tak before this video. These last episodes are going to be fun. Great Video Meg! you caught so stuff most didn't.
I think Jod is a ‘fallen Jedi’. Someone trained in the force, at least as a youngster, but who has lost his way and has become selfish to some degree in order to survive in a post order 66 world. He’s far from perfect, but I don’t believe he has turned to the dark side.
I think he probably will have a redemption arch, but I do not want him to, I think it would be better to set him up as a Dark Jedi, and a long term foil for the kids for later stories.
If everything is booby trapped, how did Wymm get the light sabre? If Jod was just lying about the booby traps, why not get the treasure that's all around them?
Jeezus had media literacy been lost? Not everything is literally boobytrapped. They don’t know what is boobytrapped and what is not so they treat the situation as everything is. Wim grabbed the lightsaber out of desperation, to try to protect Fern
Jod had pulled the switch were the "roast" were. So they could assume that everything was safe now. Also at this point they had other problems than getting treasures.
I agree with your theory about Jawd. I definitely think it was a betrayal, but I think it was done strategically. He was done with the kids’ uncertainty and the fact that they didn’t take their situation seriously. So now that the stakes are higher he was like OK enough messing around. I’m taking matters into my hands now that I know what’s at stake. He needed to get the kids in line. Though I do agree it was done very aggressively.
Episode 5 had to be the first episode that made my heart skip a few beats at times. It was great, at first i was disappointed because i thought the show wouldve been circled around adults, i have given my respect and high hopes to the series, and your theories hype the next episode so much!
It's a no-brainer. As soon as Johd finds out At Attin is a mint, he knows every pirate and lowlife in the galaxy will descend upon it like vultures. And the kids will never be safe. Remember, he sacrificed himself for David in AI.
I think Jod challenged Fern because being captain is the only way to control SM-33, and therefore the only to make proper decisions without needing approval from a bunch of kids.
assuming kb's cybernetics is the same as other depictions, my guess would be that she's getting more emotional as the implants essentially trade emotion for efficiency. her parents might not be worried about her having a life threatening issue so much as they're worried that she won't be as good or better than the other kids in school.
I think Jod went "dark" not because he turned against the kids but he was saving them. Re-listen to the recording of the pirate and then listen to SM-33... Jod told SM-33 to turn off the recording rather abruptly. He realised something about it. And when Jod realised it so did KB. She didn't shed the tear over how Jod was behaving towards her friend. She was upset because she had a connection to SM-33, him being a droid and her having the cybernetic implants. She felt like she could relate to the droid. I think her attitude towards the droid began changing when he went all "terminator mode" on the planet where the two factions lived. Fern telling her to switch on SM-33 caused a "jump scare" because she was certain then that his real identity would reveal itself. Had Jod let him continue playing the recording it would have been SM-33 who'd challenged Fern to the captain status and SM-33 would, as stated on the planet, torn her from limb to limb... Jod prevented this identity from asserting itself. Yes, Jod is likely a criminally unscrupulous jack-of-all-trades who is a pirate first and only after what serves him best but there was something "pleading" in how he demanded for Fern to yield. He couldn't tell them why he was suddenly acting differently. When Jod activates the light saber I wonder if it swung left and cut the droid into two parts, and then he'd jump in after the kids. Then the door opens and the only 2 or 3 surviving pirates find the room empty, the droid dead, and nothing there to find out why...
Hey there Star Wars Meg!🤗Absolute LOVE your videos! I agree with most of what you said, but I have to say, that I disagree with a couple of things (and this is, of course, just my opinion - not fact). Those things are: 1) Going too far - I don’t think he went too far. I believe he saw the need to take the dagger out and place it to her neck because he REPEATEDLY told her to yield and she wouldn’t. If he meant her any harm at all….he would not have told her to yield, thereby avoiding any injuries. By taking out that dagger, he essentially played upon her childlike mind (because she is a child) and caused her to FEAR him. 2) Droids Taking Over - That’s a popular theory right now….but here’s the problem. The mom (can’t remember her name. I’m ashamed 😢) got the droid to clear all data concerning the incident at the data hub. If the Droids were in charge, that could NOT have happened. The Droid would have overridden the override. Thank you Meg for all that you do for the fans!! YOU ROCK!!! This is the way. I have spoken….
Hi Meg just looked in wookieepidia to see about Rennod, it says he died at 9ABY wile crashing into at attin. Doesn't make any sense. It feels like it was before the clone wars or even further back
What are your thoughts on Ninaa Na nawood Is it a sister or wife that will come in to set him straight. Or is it his mother in a flashback when he reveals his past?
The Concubine mentioned in Episode 5 could be The Supervisor of At Attin. Strictly speaking she isn't a member of the crew and her death isn't explictly mentioned. Unconscious bias / sexism could mean that many people don't even imagine a woman could be The Supervisor.
She is force sensitive. Her parents hid it as a medical condition. She didn't want to go down below because she could sense the creature and / or the dark side. Not neong trained she just knew it was bad.
SW has an unimaginably wide fan base with various preferences and prevents any standalone movie, trilogy, or series from being universally loved by all. Although the Mandalorian is closest to my heart, I really liked Book of Fett. I get that many may not appreciate it. Onto Skeleton Crew, I still agree Jod didn't turn and did it to protect the kids. I like your angle that he did it to take charge. I really thought "The Captain" was SM-33 himself, but that screenshot torpedoed my theory.
We could play what if all day long. If Jod were going to hurt Fern, he would have. He openly, and calmly suggested that she just yield... but her doubts made her resistant. In order to change command, the pirate code requires policy, and procedures just like any structure. She couldn't just give him command without serious physical ailments, because SM33 is programmed to acknowledge the code. And the trap door, being located near the dataports hidden switch seems like a hidden escape route. Remember... Pirate Captains never trust their crews. Mutiny is always possible... and Pirate rule is to run away, to live to fight another day... wether it is from their crew, enemies, or authorities. Of course they have a contingency plan. The way in is blocked by acid. The way out has to be included due to the circumstances. A true Captain wouldn't just lock themselves in to any situation. Jod is going to follow with 33, and the kids only have a short head start. Although there will undoubtedly be some separation time. It will give Jod and 33 much needed time for building their relationships. I think even 33 has been aware of this from the beginning, and catering to the kids need for control. It is time for the real Captain to take command of his Skeleton Crew. Star Wars is a fictional tale, and the writers will work the script as need be... building tension and release. These are fictional stories, and the fans have apparently forgotten who is telling the stories. While healthy departures are welcome, the real World in which we are all living has it's own share of real problems. Debating the twists in a fictional tale is not going to solve the problems this World is confronted with. These are just breaks in reality. Not Reality itself. 👽
I think KB is force sensitive and the medication was to suppress it. With the medication wearing off she may be experiencing her force powers for the first time.
A few things, and I might be very thinking it. If Nawood was on his own since he was a youngling he may not see other youngling as younglings; especially Firn, who come off as bossy and uncompomissing, so he simply realized he had to be more forcefully. With that said, he order SM-33 to hold them not kill them, this is telling, since we know that Nawood has no issues with killing. I mention this in another post that KB sounds like a droid designation like R2, or SM -"Beware the cyborg"; there my be another reason that KB didn't want to go underground, it would render any tracking signal inoperative. Moreover, if KB is a cyborg she is under the control of someone else.
If the administrator/supervisor is gone, and the droids are in charge....it's a lot like Wall-E when the ship robot is ordered to take over, and the humans/captain don't know about it.
I’m rooting for a Jod redemption. I want to see hope and light win in the end. That is what always attracted me to the original saga. May the force be with you.
Jod "Na Nawood"? Just call him Captain Jude... "Silver"! "Treasure Planet" animation (based on "Treasure Island" lore) repurposed as always by Disney: "no source material".
I think for Jod this went from fun diversion and possible pay off to something far more serious the pirates are activly hunting them now and he's starting to see what the search for At Atten is really all about so for him the challenge was about taking charge in what has become a dangerous situation no more time to screw around no time to waste
Joe just realized that SM-33 is the Captain. He is using the “pirate rules” to save Fern, who SM-33 will have to kill (because she’s the Captain). The “Concubine” is the computer program “The Supervisor” who ordered SM-33 to go crazy and kill Capt. Rennod and the crew. SM-33 wants revenge. He’s playing everyone. Jod knows.
I thought he took control because the stakes got higher due to everyone that's after them now. Getting away is more critical because someone is chasing now.
I think Jod just challenged her to be Captain because things are getting a bit more serious and dangerous and he can't play games with who's in charge and the decisions that need to be made quickly.
It has been very obvious the whole time! SM33 "let" Fern think she was Captain because it suits his plan as defacto Captain, as the sole remaining member of the crew. He knew for a fact that Fern didn't kill the Captain. He'd been long dead for centuries! (And, most likely, SM33 is who killed him! But that has only been hinted!)
I clicked on this video out of interest - on a previous video, I asked: "Is this Meg's real voice, or is it AI? Almost no one talks like this even when giving a formal speech". I ran this through THREE very reliable programs and all of them detected that Meg's voice is AI - one program said that she used the words 'Star Wars' a totally of 5 times in one video where each audio clip is more than 99.5% of a match to each other, as in: the inflection, and the speed (to the point of 960 BPM [beats per minute] where it maxed out), and also the actual tones: like C# or E or A natural. So...
So... I find it very misleading that we're listening to [most likely] - a person who has sampled their voice in order to make videos very quickly. It's like "Meg" doesn't actually care, or else she would voice each video herself and give her ACTUAL expression with each video. This then leads me to believe that most of the components to her videos are also AI, so the clips are auto-inserted, the intro/ending parts are inserted automatically.... I basically think "Meg" just has to type in a title. Hell, even the tags are probably auto-generated!!!
Didn't SM-33 tell us that the captain's concubine stabbed him with his own knife during the mutiny? SM-33 then said the captain had the last laugh because he'd locked the Onyx Cinder's controls to crash on At-Attin, implying they all died. The knife Jod took from the ship is probably the knife that (maybe) killed Captain Rennod (if SM-33 knows/is telling the truth).
Wow we did miss that about KB, well done Megs and yes I think you are right it will have an impact at sum point. The “ challenge” to be a new captain was messy I feel it could have been handled more creatively and in-line with Star Wars theology. (Respect.) But it is more a goonies thing, in that the children were shot at and threatened. I like that Fern doesn’t respect Jod, he hasn’t really proven himself yet. He has an agenda and I believe it is less sinister than it seems. Maybe a past mission gone wrong now able to right it all. ?? But you are right Megs we need to start looking at the less obvious and more too the smaller details. What’s that old saying, the devil is in the details.
It was that dang 60s retro biker gang they put in it totally out of place for Tatooine. And our guy Boba they toned down the ruthless bounty hunter a bit too much.
I love The Boo of Boba Fett. It needed many more episodes though, because the final confrontation was too soon, before Boba had built up any army. That just ended up mating the ending really stupid. What type of intergalactic cartel were those guys supposed to be that were defeated by such a small ragtag crew, lie Boba Fetts.
I’ve been a been critic of Star Wars the past few years but this show so far has been decent. Even my wife likes it and the only other Star Wars series she has watched is the Mandalorian.
Chill bro
I was thinking the same myself.
do pirate captains also go down with their ship? because that seems noble, as does relieving the kids of the strain of being in charge. really wanting jod to be a sith, but it all seems pretty honorable so far. cautious, absurdist, but not too un-jedi-like
@@astrocoastalprocessor I'm not sure how often pirate captains went down with their ship, but if he really just wanted to relieve Fern of her status as captain, for nefarious reasons, he would have hurt her and had it done with.

Blink and you miss it bit, when they are reading the carvings near the mud pools a small steam cloud envelopes KB and she groans and holds her head
Yes! I caught that too!
6:31 he needs to become captain because, for story telling sake. pirates aren't gonna hold back or be lenient to children... if there was ever an attack from an opposing pirate company, those kids would be dead in the second if it went captain versus captain.
Do you really think Jod is somehow more capable or competent than Captain Fern?!?
No need for the sexism.
Interesting🤔 I think you may be right about the reason Jod challenged Fern.
Thanks Meg 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I think there is a possibility that Rennord could have been the supervisor for a wile. But that means SM-33 lied again. The fact that Tak was stabbed to death with his own dagger, fits with the skeleton that Jod took the dagger from. So I still think he still died in the crash. But the droids can still be in control and the Supervisor can be a droid from the beginning.
Yeah, a lot of people seem to be overlooking what SM-33 said happened to Rennod during the mutiny.
No review from me today but i wish all of your viewers here and yourself a happy and healthy and full starwars good news to come in 2025 and may the force be with you all.
I liked how dark the ending got with Jod holding the dagger up to Vern's neck
those KB lines, I thought about those lines as well , could be foreshadowing ,but their on a moon planet at night , that some how has air , it probably was cold , even Jod wraps his scarf around himself , and the mud pits , they are gross , a young girl not wanting to go down there isnt surprising , although , I do think her health will come into play , i still predict Jod will give up the treasure to save her
Star Wars meg you are a great talent. We love your accent .Thanks keep up the good work. I love this show
Even if Jod has gone full dark side, he'll want to get the children back. He wouldn't want them telling anyone else about At Attin.
Is he a Gray JEDI ??? 😊😊😊
KB's "urgent medical needs" are that her batteries are getting low. There will be an episode where they find her some AAAs and fix her right up.
When she grows up maybe she'll need Bs or Cs... 😅 ... off to bad joke prison... 🗝
I agree, Jod was trying to be the only adult in the room...when the kids were constantly messing around the whole episode. They are going to get everyone killed, and Jod realizes it. He will come back for them.
Absolutely
I am so excited to find out what will happen in the next episode where either the kids dump Jod, or they give him a second chance.
I have to say I am unreservedly enjoying the series so far. Part of it is realizing that it's not fully a kids' show.
Could KB be Force Sensitive and sensing the Dark Side of the Force when she said she was cold. In Jod and then when going down into the catacombs?
I think that rat thingee in SM33's head is more than just an infestation ... It might know/have something important ...
Obviously. The timing and nature of the rat's appearances furly much insists it!
Thanks Meg! Have A Good Week😃
Remember, even if Jod leaves, there is a bounty on the kids as well, so the other pirates might find them and race to at attin...
They’ll self destruct the ship. The same button 33 told them not to touch.
There was a flash scene of the hull self destruct going off in one of the earliest episodes, so...
If the KB medical condition is in fact that she is force sensitive end need medication to suppress that 😮.
intuition he has been silently mentoring them he just hasn't been aware of it
Episode 5 had to be the first episode that made my heart skip a few beats at times.
Maybe she is worried about her cybernetic brain taking over in an emergency, like what happened to Lando's friend Lobot?
If KD gets any worse, then their Jedi friend will have to prove how good he is.
Did y'all notice that KB gets sprayed by steam and stops what she was doing to cradle her head
assuming kb's cybernetics is the same as other depictions, my guess would be that she's getting more emotional as the implants essentially trade emotion for efficiency. her parents might not be worried about her having a life threatening issue so much as they're worried that she won't be as good or better than the other kids in school.
that makes sense considering her odd outburst to correct the skull mountain spa security team 😅
When they were looking at the carvings in the mountain she reached for her visor and groaned like something hurt her.
"You can always trust the untrustworthy because you can always trust that they will be untrustworthy."
Those things are:
1) Going too far - I don’t think he went too far.
It feels like it was before the clone wars or even further back
Jod will probably have to use some force healing on KB
What are your thoughts on Ninaa Na nawood Is it a sister or wife that will come in to set him straight. Or is it his mother in a flashback when he reveals his past?
It'll be his grandmother. Nana Ninaa Na Nawood.

Last week was awesome! I'm excited for this week!
5:38 Never mind Ronald, I'm waiting for Hondo to show up.

Fun fact: Wen's Sith name is:
'FOURTH GRADER'
I’m sure whatever she needs is in the galaxy.
Maybe I’m a simpleton but I think the KB payoff is when the inside of her visor was fogged up.
I think for Jod this went from fun diversion and possible pay off to something far more serious the pirates are activly hunting them now and he's starting to see what the search for At Atten is really all about so for him the challenge was about taking charge in what has become a dangerous situation no more time to screw around no time to waste
One thing I notice in episode 4 can't say I remember no at attin is that neil the elephant one is dressed like stewie from family guy
Loving Skeleton Crew!
KB went into the manhole conduit on the ship when she reveals where the conduit leads.
Jod knows.
I'm willing to bet he did it to protect them from who is coming.
Oh aye!
I freaking LOVED Book of Boba Fett. Felt like I was 12 again
Is it too obvious that SM33(Mr. Smee from Peter Pan) is also the pirate captain?
It has been very obvious the whole time! SM33 "let" Fern think she was Captain because it suits his plan as defacto Captain, as the sole remaining member of the crew. He knew for a fact that Fern didn't kill the Captain. He'd been long dead for centuries! (And, most likely, SM33 is who killed him! But that has only been hinted!)
Interesting! I hadn't thought of that.
@@michaelsullivan3581 The hologram was too conviently missing identifying features, and sounds just like him.
I think he was just trying to stop them from touching anything
Hopefully I'm not the only one that's a bit sketched out concerning Winn's dad. Not sure what his deal is, but there's something off about him.
I'm still holding out hope that he's Willrow Hood.
You are not the only one! He is deeply conflicted. What DOES he know?
(Respect.)
But it is more a goonies thing, in that the children were shot at and threatened.
So they add a Weequay, but not Hondo??? Here's hoping Hondo shows up, he probably will now, we have one Weequay, why not two?
It was that dang 60s retro biker gang they put in it totally out of place for Tatooine. And our guy Boba they toned down the ruthless bounty hunter a bit too much.
I couldn't care less about the condition like what could possibly go wrong
I still think someone in the imperial remnant found this out by accident after Jakku and lie being part of the old/original republic
Main issue I had was that all his major character development happened in flashbacks, leaving very little for present-day Boba to do.
I thought it was pretty obvious from the earlier episodes that the Ai & robots are actually controlling the planet.
I’ve been a been critic of Star Wars the past few years but this show so far has been decent. Even my wife likes it and the only other Star Wars series she has watched is the Mandalorian. Im very happy Jod kicked the kids to the curb, an adult needs to take charge as the kids are just kids. Wouldn’t bother me if he just dropped them off at their house and the show continued on without them
Seeing the show and pretending like it's a prediction, is NOT prediction
I could buy in to Jod just taking charge of he didn't tell SM-33 to put them in the Brig. I don't buy it that it's a simple power play.
Why does the robot's eye keep moving from side to side?
