    Trumpet soloist and crossover artist JOE BURGSTALLER has performed and taught in 48 states, 21 countries and hundreds of cities throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, has performed and taught at over 70 universities, conservatories and colleges around the world, made numerable national television and radio appearances, performed with many orchestras and has an extensive discography. He tours extensively as a soloist in recital and with orchestra and band, with the BurgstallerMartignon4, and as a teacher and clinician, traveling the world hundreds of days every year. A former member of Canadian Brass (7 1/2 years) Joe was awarded Arizona State University's Inaugural "Distinguished Alumnus Award", and the Inaugural "Outstanding Alumnus Award" from Eastern Music Festival. He is also a former member of Meridian Arts Ensemble. Mr. Burgstaller teaches trumpet and chamber music at Peabody Institute, teaches every summer at the Music Academy of the West, and in his second decade as a Yamaha Performing Artist.
    A native of Ayrshire, Scotland, JAMIE HOOD started cornet lessons with his father James Hood at the age of four. He then started to play in the local Salvation Army Band when he was seven. In 1992 Jamie moved with his family to Alsace, France where he was influenced by Marc Ullrich (solo trumpet Basel Symphony Orchestra), Dr. Edward Tarr and Niklas Eklund (International Baroque trumpet soloist). In 2004 Jamie started working with Besson as a cornet artist and clinician giving recitals all over Europe as well as working for Besson as a brass band trainer and conductor having played with some of the best brass bands in the world including Grimethorpe Colliery, The Kirkintilloch Band, Scottish Coop and Brass Band Willebroek to name a few. Jamie is now the Divisional Music Director for The Salvation Army in North and South Carolina where he continues to develop brass and vocal training within The Salvation Army as well as teach and play professionally all over the East Coast. Jamie Hood is a Besson performing artist.
    WILLIAM HIMES earned his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Michigan, where he studied composition with Leslie Bassett and George Balch Wilson. For five years he taught instrumental music in the public schools of Flint, Michigan, where he was also adjunct lecturer in low brass at the University of Michigan-Flint. Mr. Himes continues to be in demand as conductor, composer, lecturer, clinician and euphonium soloist and has appeared throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Jamaica, Japan, Argentina, France and the United Kingdom. Well known for his compositions and arrangements, Mr. Himes has more than 170 instrumental and choral publications to his credit. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and his music is continually featured on international broadcasts and recordings. Since 1977, Mr. Himes has served as head of the The Salvation Army's USA Central Territory Music and Gospel Arts Department in Chicago, Illinois. In this capacity he is also conductor of the Chicago Staff Band, an internationally recognized ensemble which he has led on successful tours of Panama, Mexico, Chile, Canada, Jamaica, Singapore, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Korea and United Kingdom.

    Wow. I've loved this song ever since I first heard George Beverly Shea sing it. I've always wanted to try an arrangement for solo trumpet, and this video has given me the inspiration I needed. Thanks so much for posting.
