I did build a super budget version of Dee Kay a while back and it was so much fun simply from the fact that you couldn’t tell beforehand if you were going to be the strongest deck at the table and absolutely dominate, or do literally nothing at all the entire game since every card relied so much on dice rolls and chance. I want to see the list when it’s done!
I've long loved Skeleton Ship and originally built it in 2013 as a "pirate" deck long before they had printed pirates as a real type of card full of any budget card that lets me play my opponents cards or took control of them. That deck led to me finding my favorite Jank card in magic, Planeswalker's Mischief.
Dimir is pretty strong for those effects so I can see it working like that. I've somehow never seen Planeswalker's Mischief before, I need to go into the lab with that one...
I've been big on dragon throne of tarkir ever since I discovered it while building my Zaxara the Exemplary deck. Turn one of your big Hydra tokens you probably weren't getting through with anyway into a defender that pumps up your other hydras to make sure it really hurts when you do get through
@@xverfiend I am of two minds about cards like this. On the one hand it's certainly a fun idea. On the other hand it's an absolute slog in practice. I could see it being fun on MTGO (or similar) where you can let the computer handle it. That said Timesifter isn't TOO bad in paper. It's obnoxious but... it's no Scrambleverse or Grip of Chaos.
Honestly same. There are a number of cards like this that are fun in practice but they make the game kind of difficult to get through. They're the kind of decks you ask to play and warn everyone that it'll basically turn the game into a big puzzle of trying to disarm your deck
@@xverfiend Also good for anything that cares about targeting (see crime triggers, etc) and potential politicking (give someone's creature islandwalk at instant speed).
Dude, I love this. Please make this a series. I love wacky decks like this. I actually play magic because I love seeing weird interactions
Thank you so much! I'll see what I can do ;)
Weird interactions are the best thing about commander and we need more of it
This was great. I definitely found a couple cards I'd like to run. Would totally watch another video on diamonds in the rough.
You’ve inspired me to rebuild my Dee Kay, Finder of the Lost. Now I gotta go find cards to play with. Awesome video

Perfect use for it! I think a lot of people see that it gives the equipped creature defender and dismiss it
I like the earthbound music..
i love timesifter, but don't run it in anything yet! (also great video)
I know people run it in Ian Malcolm if chaos is your thing...

@@xverfiend Addendum
I am now imagining a deck designed to abuse this by repeatedly topdecking and then unexiling something like a Draco.

I found a rather janky use for War Barge.
Give your OPPONENTS' creatures islandwalk.
Blink War Barge.^^
Um. You are an evil genius. I'd not even thought about that!
