    Thanks for the video! It is always motivating to see videos like this in the big outdoors with the dog and camera, my favourite pastime! I have only one lens for my XT-1 which is a 27mm pancake lens and I love the size of this combination the most. I tend to bring it with me more often than the other cameras I have even though they would be more capable. Was half thinking of getting one of these extension tubes to add a bit more depth to this camera and lens, and that is how I happened upon your video...and I am glad I did! Go raibh míle maith agat!

    Macro is possibly my favourite genre, it opens up new worlds all around you. Macro bubble photos can be a great afternoon if you get stuck in due to bad weather, well worth a try to practice macro.

    Greetings from Australia, I'm really enjoying your videos just finished watching your lens reviews. Have you thought about adapting old vintage lenses? I think you would get a lot from them & it would suit your photograph style. Obviously they are all manual but this is a small price to pay in order to use some fantastic lenses from Minolta, Pentax, Canon & Nikon etc. Be warned collecting & using them can become addictive! I have over 100 now. It all started when a customer asked if I wanted a box full of old lenses that she was throwing in the bin, I later discovered that all of them were very rare & highly sought after. Assuming you can get adapters for your Fuji, you can pick up old lenses for a fraction of the price of the modern ones.

    • @wildandfreevictoria
      @wildandfreevictoria  2 роки тому

      Hello Australia! Thank you for much for your lovely comment and I am really glad to hear you are enjoying the reviews! There are more on the way! I have never thought about this but it does sound like a brilliant idea! I don't mind shooting in manual, I do this anyway, even the focus at times, I quite enjoy it :) Haha thank you for the prewarning, I can imagine it can get addictive but a harmless hobby in my opinion! To have over 100 is incredible, you could open a mini museum and discuss some history of lenses! That would be great! It is also lovely to know that you rescued a box of lovely lenses that would have been binned! I have looked at this in the past as I was looking for an old telephoto lens but there aren't many adapters out there but I shall read into some more! Thank you again for this, it was a very lovely insight to your collection and photography! Keep collecting 🙃🤘🏻

    I tried the extension tubes (brand Meike, with contacts, seem to fit just right) with the 18-55 and I am not too satisfied with the sharpness. I will try to work at the tele end specifically and see if that is the problem. Or maybe a prime just has enough extra sharpness that using it with tubes is not a problem.

      @@wildandfreevictoria Hi Victoria. That was an amazing time in Scotland. I had two days in Edinburgh and then we (group of 25 riders) took a bus to Fort Williams where our bikes had been tranfered by a van. And of course we had try Ben Nevis trailpark. That was fun. We headed to Fort Augustus after that. Next day we rode to Kingussie passing the center of Scotland 👍😄. Then next day to Tomintoul passing the national nature reserve Abernethy. We stayed there for a day and did some whiskey tasting 😬. Not my liking 🤣. Then to Ballater and on the we went to Balmoral Castle to see if the Queen had made some tea for us 🙈. I think the forrest we went through was on the way to Ballater. That was tricky because trees were all over the road 😆. We had to climb over a fence and walk on rocks with bikes on our shoulders
      One day We even walked with the bikes up to the top of Mount Keen.... totally insane but it was worth it. What a view but very very stormy that day ☺️. We finished at Montrose. It was so awesome that I have to come back again. I could spent many hours just watching the landscape changing when the clouds were passing on the sky. Every day we saw a new type of landscape. And we had the most beautiful weather. Only raining during the night, and when we started the day the sun came through. Have you ever been to Denmark ?

    Pine forests are the best! I used to use these extension tubes a lot, they worked very well with the 90mm f2. Can I give a small tip, everyone might already be doing this, but having lens and body caps on the tubes when you’re not using them helps keep dust out of them and out of your camera, I think. In my mind I’m imagining dust gathering inside the tubes when they’re rattling around in the bag and then that dust gets into the camera when you attach the tubes to it. Maybe the chances of that is minimal, but I use caps to try avoiding extra dust.
