    I have put a piece of cleat tape over the end of metal tape measure before rounding corners. Prevents cut coners from flying somewhere

    Love your videos. Can you do an eye glass case with the snap closures? What would the measurements be?

      Hi Michele! You can make the snap bags any size! I would simply lay a pair of eyeglasses down and draw a rectangle around them to get your basic size. Then add extra for the top part and seam allowances. You can make a smoke out of your old/ugly fabric to try it out first!

      Sorry that should be sample instead of smoke! Sometimes I miss seeing the errors with auto correct!

    I like this but the marking pencil! Where can I purchase this one? The one I have is hard to mark lines

    Hi Michelle. I see you are using a Chi iron. What’s your feedback on it. I want to get a new iron. Do you steam or dry

    • @thesimplequilter7499

      Hi Peggers! I really like the Chi iron! It gets really hot and has good steam! It stays on for quite a while and does have an automatic shut off. I just got a new Oliso! I wanted to see what all the fuss was about! I haven’t tried it yet because I really do like my Chi!

      The Chi was a lot cheaper than the Oliso!!! I also like the Chi better than my cordless Panasonic! The Chi is a great iron in my opinion and I am particular about the iron I use!

    You mentioned "spray baste". What glue would you use for that? Just normal spray adhesive?

    • @thesimplequilter7499
      @thesimplequilter7499  2 роки тому

      Caroline, I use "505 Spray and Fix" which is a temporary fabric adhesive. You want to be sure it is made for fabric so it won't gum up your sewing machine needle or quilting needle when you quilt your quilt.

    Thank you so much for your demonstration. I was keen to have a go at making these bags. I have made three altogether but unfortunately not one has turned out perfect. The problems I have encountered are in the side seams I cannot get them to look right. I think the concept is great but there is a great deal of fiddly preparation work which I found too time consuming. Your instruction was very informative. I enjoyed your video, but this project was not for me.

    What adjustments would you need to make to teach this to 8-12 year olds? Thanks

    • @thesimplequilter7499
      @thesimplequilter7499  2 роки тому

      Char, I do not know what adjustments to recommend; however, I would definitely cut the metal pieces for them and provide close supervision with sewing. I would also precut the fabric for them unless you are having them cut with scissors.
