    Got this unit a year and a half ago for $69 and never seen it lower since. For me it's been great cleaning a big circular drive and a pool deck multiple times. Also, here in Florida we have a bi-annual infestation of love bugs that can totally coat the front end of vehicles. This power washer has saved me more than its cost in car washes in those seasons.

    I received my pressure washer ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP over the weekend and decided to wait for the sun to come out before firing it up. Was needed to clean the deck. Our last pressure washer broke a couple of seasons ago, and I just hadn't replaced it yet. This one had great comments, so here we are. It was easy to assemble, and the trigger wand is comfortable and easy to hold for long periods of time. The pressure washer worked great and made quick work of the "TN North side algae" that inevitably grows every year. I also washed all of the deck furniture while I was at it... it all looks great! So far I am happy with this purchase. I plan to climb the ladder to wash siding over the next couple of days, will update if I have anything else to add after that!

    For more foam, measure your soap accurately per directions on bottle, add distilled water to that soap bottle to top it off, and heat the distilled water in the microwave before adding it and you'll have noticeably more foam from any foam gun.

    I've had an electric pressure washer for years. I currently have the Ryobi 2000 psi washer now for about the last 4 years, bought it at Home Depot. It's plenty powerful enough for what I use it for around the house, cleaning the vinyl siding, sidewalks, cars, etc.
    My friend bought the HF Portland washer last year, for washing his car and cleaning the small deck he has on his town home, he likes it. It's nice that it comes with the foam cannon, I had to buy one separately from my Ryobi.

    I have the Portland unit and used it nonstop all day both days one weekend cleaning a deck and backside of our home and I expected it to overheat or just let go when it had enough..... Nope, it held in there and I use it still. It’s my go to for car washing (I hand wash the body and rinse with this) and use it for the engine and undercarriage. I’m very happy with the little $80 machine for what it is made for. Easy to grab and set up and does as it is expected to. I use the gas washer for my larger projects like drives and patios but I say go for it if something small and useful for the small jobs of everyday homeowners. 👍🏼👍🏼

    I purchased a Ryobi 1800 PSI 1.2 GPM electric portable pressure washer I picked up on sale at HD for $79.00 last August. I was able to pressure wash my entire house in one full day using the built in non-foaming soap reservoir. It worked like a champ. I also purchased the foam cannon accessory kit for an additional $29.00 plus foaming soap for use on my vehicles. It worked for my light duty applications just fine. I will say that when using the built in soap reservoir, it blows through the soap very fast and I had to run down to the hardware store for another gallon. All in all it was a good purchase and hope to be using it again this Summer. Cheers Bear!

    I used to have one always worked great. The only thing bad about them and that goes with all pressure washers is that they turn of when you press the trigger, that means that the tip is clogged up. I did a few videos on it, and how to add a foam cannon with a quick connect.

  • @kenabi

    not sure about the lastest version, with with the older ones, don't leave them outside. the hose input connection is aluminum and so is the internal connection pipe. my nephew left ours outside and it got rained on, hose got stuck in the input connection due to corrosion. literally could not get it to come off the end of the hose. unscrewed the piece out of the pressure washer just fine though.
    rendered that unit worthless.

    I have a model similar to the compact one you used in the RV, it’s made by Wen. I have found the single biggest point of failure is the high-pressure hose connections. They rust or corrode in the O-rings disintegrate. Keep those connections will grease and lubricated. Some of the unions made for those hoses so you can extend it in length, or aluminum, the connections are steel on the hoses and they corrode together. Dissimilar metals corrode terribly. Remember to disassemble all the connections, lubricate them every time you use them.

    • @rairadrai
      @rairadrai 4 роки тому

      Lubricate with what? Which product?

    • @TexasScout
      @TexasScout 4 роки тому

      rairadrai the o-rings and the treads of the connections. The male connection (with the o-ring is usually steel and the female is aluminum. They will corrode because of dissimilar metals. Keep them greased or better yet use “ anti-seize” compound.

    I use a Ryobi electric pressure washer (1600 psi) with a cheap Amazon foam cannon attached. Like you demonstrated, I don't get the crazy thick foam because it simply doesn't flow enough. But I get enough, and it beats the old bucket/garden hose method I was using before. I wish I had purchased the Sun Joe model. Sometimes the pump on my Ryobi revs up when I'm not even pulling the trigger. It was my first, and last Ryobi purchase. 😋

    Electric power washers are great for those who live in locations with sound ordnances or in a shared area. If you own a home in a freedom loving area, gas is the only way to go. Even the cheapest WEN power washer on amazon will outclass the most expensive electric one. Also the foam canons benefit from the higher PSI & GPM. I also recommend those cheap under carriage attachments that cost 20ish dollars.

  • @ratoneJR
    @ratoneJR 4 роки тому

    Ryobi electric is the one to buy. For one reason...universal connectivity. Standard 1/4" quick disconnect nozzle adapter, standard hose sizes and hose connectors, standard hose connector on wand + an excellent warranty. Have been using a Ryobi electric for 5+ years, no issues. Wait until on sale and buy. I bought extended warranty, and did not need it. Get a surface cleaner, too. My Ryobi also came with a quick disconnect turbo nozzle, that nozzle is awesom. .

Key to using PWer is they will use less water than the water hose. So saving water is important then the PW method is a no brainer.

    Bear, let me explain how things are working here. The “foam cannon” you are referring to with the Portland washer is not a foam cannon at all, it’s a low pressure soap applicator. A foam cannon uses the high pressure of the washer to make foam, this can only be achieved with a washer that has changeable tips, like the new Bauer, or the one you showed previously.

    Would this electric pressure washer work good for washing semi trucks ??

    • @denoftools
      @denoftools  3 роки тому

      No. Won't reach high enough up probably and won't have the cleaning power for bugs and road debris after really long trips.

    What's a good soap to clean vinyl siding? I know bleach does a great job but the pressure washer instructions say no to bleach.

    • @ccadama
      @ccadama 4 роки тому

      @Scooter George. If the siding is vinyl, Dawn dishwashing liquid diluted in a bucket of water and a brush will work. You can also try Oxy Clean as it will not harm shrubs. Test in a area you don't care about to make sure no harm to the siding.
      Hope that helps.

      I agree with C Adam, I use Dawn. It works great and won't kill my lawn.

    I know by comparing a dirty truck to a pic of a new car was about the benefit of using a pressure washer to clean it.....washing a dirty truck will give it a better appearance........BUT the over simplification is an overused and misrepresented sales technique. There is no way is a pressure washing (doesn’t matter the quality) or even washing a truck with a abused paint is going to look like a brand new car. It will only look like a clean abused truck.

    your better off with a regular pressure washer gas or electric with a attachment on the end soap will build up over time in the pump and lines and clog and eat seals on the machine,

    As someone who has professionally pressure washed many houses, roofs and buildings, this thing is OK for car washes and tiny bits of concrete, but if you asked me to do a single small house with this I'd tell you to fuck off, I have neither the time or inclination to mess with that level of bullshit. But that's me, who, after having used the good stuff, can not tolerate the entry level bargain bin things. The wand is garbage, the hose is garbage, the power cord practically stands at attention its so stiff. But for several times the cost of this you'll get a gasoline version that's only marginally better... Better in every regard, except louder and more expensive.
    At the end of the day, if you don't know any better, this'll probably be just fine for you

    The cheaper ones are not worth it.
    They break within 5 uses. Built cheap, you have to treat it like a baby. And it will still probably break.
    Spend $300-800 and get a solid one. Well worth it if you have a bigger job than a single use application.

    Great video but I hope this was just a demo of the washer and not how you actually clean your car. It's still dirty. You have to use a rag when you soap it up

    At first I thought you took a field trip up to the land of moss and was going to chastise you for not announcing your visit!
    Aside for that, I wouldn't get that close to my nice paint job with a pressure washer. Even the little electric ones can blast into wood pretty good if you're not careful.
