- In this video I replace my chainstay protector. It takes literally about 5 min with any old tube you might have laying around(1 tube makes 2 chainstay protectors). Its easy,fast, and durable. Plus mutes the noise from chain slap. Let me know if you have any questions.

Can you use a replaced handlebar tape?
Joel Alonzo it will work just won’t be as durable.
I recommend getting a Knipex pliers instead of using a razor blade that's just way too dangerous.
slicing it twice is a great tip, I have been doing it too.

I would wrap it from the whole chain stay BB area to the end of the chain stay
