His playing is so sterile and bland. I was not moved nor touched in any way. This contest is really for amateurs only. Low caliber.

With a ridiculous comment like that, you are either a troll or a complete jerk. The candidates of this competition are among the best non-professional pianists in the world. If you don't like it, just go buy a ticket for a concert by your favorite professional pianist instead of being deliberately hurtful on the internet out of jealousy.
Real amateurs cannot even play this concerto (George should not be considered real amateur, he has piano degree).... His playing was pretty good. After all, this is not a professional competition. I am just concerned WHY you have the urge to write what you wrote.
Tbh his playing was very good. It lacked a bit in dynamic range and sensitivity to harmony but it was clean, in period style, and decently blended with the orchestra.
Just FYI, this was the first concerto I ever performed; so I've got some experience with it.
