This was my favourite trail, I used to go almost every Sunday. You soon get fit riding this once a week I can confirm. Anything under 2 hours is reasonable, but if you're getting close to an hour and a half, you are really going some. The 4 mile black section (used for the 2010 world cup XC) is great, and you can tag that onto the 23 mile red, for some more challenging technical track.
Great! Thanks for the video, has made me want to visit, I love the look of the rock garden and switch back section. Looks like a more advanced version of rock/twisty section on The Monkey Trail at Cannock.
@@SearchMTB I'm Derbyshire based so Cannock isn't too far and I do like the Monkey Trail so perhaps I'll save Dalby for a future trip. One thing I noticed on the video is that it seems to connect/flow a little better where as the Monkey Trail has some great sections but feels pretty stop/start.
Too long, badly built, mainly boring badly maintained. Does link the off piste which is much better. The Firestry Commission are so far off the mark with Dalby. The other centres do it soo much better, Hamsterley for one.
Hamsterley Forest is a great day out, I haven't ridden anything else within a couple of hours drive of Dalby so I can't really comment.... I would say SW Scotland and Cannock chase are the best trails I have ridden within a few hours drive.....
Dalby is for people who like climbs and fitness, it's perfect. If you think it's 'too long', then stick to short downhill tracks where you don't have to be as fit.
@@elvingtonred I get what you're saying matey, but only better 'for you', because you prefer a different type of ride. The black bits of Dalby, and in particular the 4 mile world cup route, is imo brilliant, brutal climbs which really test your fitness and bike control/traction, coupled with some really rough and technical sections. The only place I think just beats it, is Gisburn, which although much shorter, has some excellent XC techy bits, and rocky challenging bits too.

It's definitely built for a fitness trail with some features to keep you entertained along the way. Great challenging XC trail 👍
Cool, gonna check this place out to put some miles in, loved the cheesy 90s backing music too
Have a good session 🤙

Thanks for watching 🙂🤙
Glad you enjoyed the video!!
Very similar to The Monkey Trail👍
@@SearchMTB do you think its worth a near 3-hour trip vs 50 mins to Cannock?
I think I would go to Cannock over Dalby, if I had to choose.
Where do you live?

Dalby has more of a xc feel to it. If that's the type of trails you prefer I would definitely give Dalby a go🙂👍
Great video, thanks
Thanks for watching 👍😁 Glad you enjoyed it 🤙
Good video -thanks. Are you allowed to ride a kick scooter on any of the runs?
Sorry, I have no idea....

@@DjNikGnashers We only do the off piste, my point was, that it could be sooo much better.
