- The last month has been one that Chappell Roan won't forget. She released her debut album, began a nearly sold out headlining tour, and announced that she will support Olivia Rodrigo in the spring. She even made an appearance on Elton John's Rocket Hour show, where the music legend expressed that he thinks her records are "amazing."
Raised in Willard, Missouri, the singer-songwriter spent time in Nashville before moving to Los Angeles. Since her debut EP in 2017, she's released a series of singles and music videos that showcase her creativity, infectious pop songwriting, and colorful, campy aesthetic.
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is the culmination of all that momentum. Collaborating with producer Dan Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo, Conan Gray), she's developed a sound that's both adventurous and ready for the radio. Tracks like the energetic "HOT TO GO!" and the ballad "Coffee" showcase her versatility and powerful vocals.

If you’re not listening to Chappell, you are missing out. My 14 year old daughter introduced her to me & I love her. An artist that can create a joyful musical experience for a gay teen & her 47 year old mother;)) She’s a very polished performer too. A true talent.

Y’all I feel like you fucked this interview up 😭 consistently interrupting her and asking bad questions…it’s clear you didn’t really do much research beforehand. It’s such a shame because Chappell is about to be one of the greatest musical artists of our time. I agree with other commenters that Demi really took away from the interview. The album is SO good, Chappell's project is one of a kind and so incredibly beautiful and fun and queer. She's the star we've all been waiting for. I saw her live this month and I can't wait to see her again this spring with my girlfriend

This interview, 'It's Real" cringe. Only saving grace is I feel like we met Kayleigh (Chappell Roan's real name) in this interview, but there are better interviews now thankfully! She was gracious, real and super thoughtful and humble - although even she seemed to look for the exit at the end. Both interviewers were mostly cringe and off-putting. Jordan talked over Chappell throughout, seemed to try and score a free ticket to Chappell Roan's (almost) sold-out tour, and couldn't even bring himself to thank Chappell at the end! Demi is definitely taking Chappell's peerless Tiny Desk Concert direction to "be bimbos ladies, be bimbos", and at least she was nice enough to thank Chappell Roan/Kaleigh at the end.
