Helicopter rescue of injured hiker in Arizona spins out of control

- A routine helicopter rescue turned into a nightmare when the basket carrying an injured woman began spinning wildly in the air. Authorities say a 74-year-old woman had to be rescued by helicopter after getting injured during a hike on a Phoenix mountain. Fire officials say the woman was put in a stretcher-like device that is lifted up from the ground to the helicopter. The video shows the stretcher with the woman spinning rapidly as it nears the helicopter. She was transported to a trauma centre for evaluation and was said to be in a stable condition

The genius of this video is the hard cuts between the speed increases. You keep saying to yourself, “wow that’s really fast…” and then it hard cuts to an even faster spin rate that seemed impossible mere milliseconds ago. I feel bad at how much I cherish this footage but if she really is okay that makes me feel a little better.

Detlef Dingus my dad actually flies for phoenix police and his partner was actually the pilot in this video, the pilot did nothing wrong it was the firefighters that told him when to take off because in rescues the pilots only listen to the commands of the firefighters on the ground, so it was bad on the firefighters and the lady for hiking one of the most difficult hikes in AZ in JUNE LMAO
