I thought I’d be unable to take this self-satisfied narcissist singing this masterpiece seriously - hard to imagine him living the kind of brutal internal life that inspired Jackson C. Frank to write this song - but he did a nice job, the guitar part is spot on and Mayer ditched his usual vocal affectations. But give credit where credit is due - he’s a gifted musician.
Ten years ago today. I was in the audience, my facey memory shows I left there raving about him.
Wow. Love that he’s playing the song. Didn’t expect to stumble upon this tonight. I grew up down the road from John. Was friends with his brother.
Cool
Fabulous version
Thanks for uploading this. The version im used to listening to over the years had no video and poor sound quality.
Jackson Frank would be so proud...
I can't get enough of this performance. It's perfect!

I spent the last decade looking for this video.

Love it
A sadly brilliant song.
It's the soul of the artist in the form of music. That's what made it brilliant
Unreal!
lots of Queen of California here
💖✨✨✨
That wa la killer
I am happy that he's playing Jackson C. Frank, although he's doing the faster Simon and Garfunkel version.
I hope he cited Jackson c frank!!
Bert Jansch certainly did.
Kobe thiz
Why can’t I find a better quality of this video anywhere??
A John MAyer, or Christina Aquillera only come by once in a lifetime.
Small guitar this time John??
This is his signature model acoustic Martin Guitar.
This is one of the few times that a cover is better than the original. Ok there are others, but not many
It can't be better. It's good in its own way, but never better
no way ! jackson has an untouchable voice .
