Kafka is one of the best well designed character that Mihoyo have made imo. And it’s not because of how good she is, it’s just that she’s so versatile for a damage focus character. I was ready for her to be just as limiting as Nilou, turns out she can stand alone without relying on other characters DoT. Viable and strong in multiple playstyle/build, and have a lot of room for improvement if they ever release another 5 star DoT character. Or even normal damage supporters since she’s also usable in non-DoT team. Also able to use different supports that aren’t usually used like Sampo/Luka, even though some people thinks that it is expensive needing to build new characters for her, i think it’s a plus in the long run for variety sake. Also interacts really well with the game’s main mechanic, the break system, since they are also DoT’s that she can detonate, bleed break is especially disgusting for boss fights.
The relic situation and the fact she uses characters no one else wants already says to me she's a 10 out of 10 and I wouldn't ever tell someone it was a bad choice. As always with these games, if you're happy with your tower progression get the one you like more 🤗
Both are pretty good in their own way. I'd say a suggestion i thought to improve jing yuans immediate damage is either let lightning lord 10 stack immediately hit. Or when lightning lord 10 stack hits, make it so that the next lightning lord gains 2 extra stacks, thus making it much easier to consistently do damage.

Kafkas crazy cause she doesnt need dot. She works as an hypercarry using crit stats and her dot dmg alone is enough for hige damage so you dont jeed sampo or luka

Jing Yuan have only one issue that hoyoverse need to addressed. let LL move regardless if JY is cc'ed or not. i dont think hoyo gonna do a drastic change that allow LL to immediately move after 10 stacks with how long he's been released but updating the cc'ed status is a good enough change
dmg wise, i think erudition as a whole need a buff or dedicated support. example like how for nihility, enemy res at higher lvl got reduced in 1.1. a huge buff for the path as a whole. maybe should do a specific change for follow up attacks that can ignore a bit of enemy def?
Even Serval is viable with Kafka. Were also gonna be having Guinaifen and Luka eidolons once Topaz comes out and we can get Sampo Eidolons on Jingliu Banner
Kafka's game design is amazing, shes extremely f2p, she doesnt need hours of farming artifacts, she works alone as an hypercarry but also on a dot and she makes a lot of mid characters good, shes future proof and hot

As someone who have both Jing Yuan and Kafka, they're good in their own way. For Jing Yuan, his build is more expensive than Kafka as he needs crit, but his team composition is not really as demanding as Kafka for max damage output. Kafka has a simpler build because she doesn't rely on crit, but she needs other DOT characters to maximize her gameplay
Personally, I tried Kafka thanks to the new event. I tried her with her best supports 'cause I had them already built (hence why I was thinking about pulling for her) but I've felt pretty underwhelmed. I'm just going to wait for Imbibitor Lunae and the Fu Xuan, if I get lucky enough.

Yeah its making it diificult in clearing current MOC 9... Everytime I almost get a weakness break or kill on svarog, the arm keep aiming for my Jing Yuan and CC him. Yeah and the lithtning lord is not activated and i ended up with dead jing yuan and there goes my 3 star 😢

When I read the description of Fire Mc taunt it says " 100% Base Taunt chance"? Maybe the enemy resistance can mitigate the taunt effect chance somehow?
Jing Yuang feels weak if you are not a whale and erudition lightcones are a Joke other than his signature, not to speak of the huge investment and luck that he needs to be good, Kafka only needs traces, you can slap any artifact on her and she’ll be godly with other dot characters, or even hypercarry dot on her own if you wish so and you can use Pela’s lightcone that is easily obtainable or even Fermata that is 100% f2p on her and she’ll be great. Kafka will only get better as the time goes on, Jing Yuang will only get worst. Traces upgrade is NOT expensive, it’s a thing that all characters need, Dps more than ever since they only do dmg. Jing Yuang skill and burst deal low dmg and his only real dps ability is the 10 stack lightning lord that is good only in single target since in aoe the dmg distribution is random, making an Aoe dps Worse in aoe, what a joke

idk about their damage but Kafka's playstyle is the 2nd most fun thing in this game for me next to Clara. Jing Yuan on the other hand is a turn based Eula lul. regarding the high lvl/trace investments, it's much better than needing crit on relics, at least farming those are guaranteed results, instead of relic rng where you could farm for weeks and got no improvements
Kafka outdamaged Juan in aoe, heck even Blade is better than him and need way less sp. pretty funny when Erudition was supposed to be *THE* aoe damage units.
@@lorraineg8605 Well, Jing Yuan was literally the first limited 5star Erudition. So it was expectable for him to become weaker as we get newer characters that stronger than the previous ones. And Jing Yuan's only hope currently is Fu Xuan but even in that case he will become weaker as new updates comes out. And Kafka will never be weak in DoT teams if Hoyoverse not releases a DoT that does what Kafka can but on a stronger way. Since Kafka basicly uses the newer and newer DoT characters as a tool.

I have both and enjoy both. I don't mind spending so I can also get IL and Jingliu. Just pull for who you like and don't let the meta slaves tell you otherwise.
Not to mention Who have Gepard and plays with preservation that Relic farm place is haven. And i Build E6 Serval too so i rly am happy with Kafka and Jing Yuan as my Dmg dealers. Btw Jing Yuan do rly good dmg even vs enemies without Lighting weakness.
I mean both are good in their respective scenarios do you need to clear large groups of enemies out quick basically farming calyx's or do you need to just farm enemies in general. I know that's a bad example but each of the characters is good in their own way with this game, a bunch of different scenarios and such. Not like genshin where you got one dps and you're basically set for life. My biggest thing with it is the game is still in the early stages so you never know if they'll add enemies who can combat DoT or not so it's hard to make a definitive answer atm. I'm just tired of ppl saying she's meta already I swear we said that with Blade so please don't make this a running thing with all the characters.
For gacha games, a DPS for every element is needed. I already have Jing Yuan. Kafka may be better but since my Jing Yuan at E0 can still finish all content of the game, I'm good. 😂 Im going for 5 star Dan Heng. Then next would be a fire DPS, then a Physical DPS.

as a JY main, I'm not gonna lie and pretend Kafka didn't hard powercreep the General imagine if a unit (not even JY), let's say Himeko, just has the ability to trigger another character's critical attack even though it's not that character's turn that's basically what Kafka does. sure DoTs aren't crits and they can't crit but you know what they do?? they stack!! it doesn't matter that DoTs don't crit when you have 5 stacks of bleed, shock and wind sheer all on 1 boss, and that's before dmg buffs and debuffs btw, then Kafka can just snap her fingers and make those stacks trigger for absolutely no reason other than she just can and it's not even Kafka's fault. she's designed that way. her entire schtick is giving people deseases and making other deseases that are already there hurt more. meanwhile JY gets frozen and the LL just doesn't exist. 1 mechanic (crowd control) completely invalidates JY's entire playstyle.
kinda want her for her uniqueness, but i dont think i will regret not pulling her as i have JY, the problem i am facing is Lunae or Fu Xuen both would add something. Lunae because i dont have a imaginary i'm not counting in Yukong. Fu Xuen (with clara especially) sounds like she is gonna be a real benifit to team comps that play crit/cdm (sorry mommy).
We have the same opinion about having her even I have already Jingyuan is a win-win situation regarding to relics. The only cons that I have is i have to build my sampo and asta or luka because I am still new about DoT teams and I actually liked it. If they don't need Crit Value then their Character Value will be high (for me). I finished building Nilou and Kafka just 30 minutes after getting them without special Farming Relics before they release. I searched for trash in Inventory, Max Upgrade, and it's done 👍👍
Kinda hate it tho like after 30 minuts your character will deal the max damage it can do while crit characters they basically get better which feels good tbf
Kafka: strong ST, aoe future potential AND downside, if they introduce more enemies who can cleanse Kafka will fall HARD, currently enemy bronya does that Jing yuan: strong ST, strongest aoe, fucks up if you get cc'ed, Fu xuan will cure that but its a flaw to consider, future potential (?) If he gets a follow up relic set, since there's a planer ornament for follow up, needs investment. Who's better? They give almost the same damage with situationally pulling ahead of each other Just go for the gameplay you enjoy. Enjoy building stacks? Jing. Enjoy dots? Kafka.
Saying Kafka cannot hypercarry or needs other DoT units is a gross error. Phimoji 0-Cycled the MoC with an E0S1 Kafka, and only Silverwolf (E1), Sushang, and Tigyun. That is a 0-cycle with decent relics and investment in the supports. Now if another D0T comes out in the future, that just synergizes with Kafka.
People have 0 cycle clears with herta , 0 cycle doesnt mean a character is good, with proper investment any character can do it on the right MoC buff. While you can play Kafka witouth dots and get clears the same way you can play seele witouth a single support and get clears doesnt mean is the best, Dot characters give a lot more damage to a kafka team than other type of team comps
@@chelo136 you miss the point. The 0-cycle was done with a standard attack build and NO other D0T characters. In the hardest content of the game. With just OK artifacts. The Herta 0-cycles have god-tier artifacts on everyone, huge investment in Light cones, and all E6’ed supports. Whale level stuff (at this point in the game) The Kafka 0-cycle team is 100% F2P achievable. Saying she requires D0T is just wrong. Kafka is flexible on how you run her and the kinds of teams you can slot her in. It is a Hoyo game. All characters are viable with investment. Kafka requires significantly less investment and RNG reliance on artifacts. You do not need to build the other D0T units if you don’t want to. That is the “high investment” many say about Kafka and it is not true.

At the end of the day you can run her with wathever you want, run her with bailu loucha and natasha if you like them, but when talking about BIS DoT focused team comps are the bets for kafka and they dont require much investment

I think you are misunderstanding what “investment” requires. Yes, you have a better artifact chance, but the initial build is significant, and the issue with current D0T teams is you really need Kafka for viability. You aren’t building general supports, you are building supports SPECIFICALLY a for Kafka. Does that mean D0T is bad? No. Not at all. Just time consuming investments. And with Kafka, that is an option, but hypercarry using standard existing, and universal, supports is just as viable. You can build D0T if you want, but it is not necessary at all. You can build the D0T units you actually like.

F2p destroyed MoC with seele and jing team. Skipping kafka for fuxuan for mono quantum team. Will summon kafka latter when more DoT 5* is released.. Mihoyo dont treat kafka like Eula or kajuha. And give rerun 2 years later. . . . Also tenha you can change sampo later for a waifu.
I think kafka is WAAAAY better for f2p, like i have my jing yuan with really good relics, and my kafka still does more damage than him, and I don’t even have a good team for her, using lvl 60 not build sampo and she still outperforms jing yuan

If you're f2p and you already have jing yuan then it doesn't make any sense to pull for Kafka. Unless you skipped the entire last patch and don't want to pull for the next 2 patches then it'd be OK to pull her.

I'm skipping because JY is already built enough to help me full clear MoC. Imo better to pull for DPS of new elements to be able to tackle a wider variety of stages than double up on the same element this early in the game.
I have jy +lc and get himeko after, instead full build jy i maxed up himeko and give jy lc to her, And poor jy is sitting in the corner of the room till today 😂

Not sure if your Clara is built, but on the second half of Memory of Chaos 10 she performs extremely well since Kafka is so aggressive. I took Clara, Luocha, Jing Yuan for extra dmg since this team has a lot of skill points and Natasha for emergency healing.
See like.. Kafka does damage but is also a support. Jing is not a support. Kinda simple. When the 5* dot or break characters come out Kafka’s value increases even further

Kafka is my second limited charaster, after SW. I loose 50/50 to e1 Clara at 75-80, and got her with e1 at next 50 pulls, pretty happy with that result. Fun part is - I still dont got Luka... I dont have Sushang, and i was thinking like okay, not a big deal Luka will be my savior! 100+ pull later, i got 3 lightcones, 3 Sampo, and my Serval from e6 go up to e10. Yeah. Without e1 on Kafka i would be mad. With it im perfectly fine, just one more elusive 4* ignoring my roster. Shame they both phys and extremly good. I have found some leaks about free Sushang, so i guess i might build her later on. I still think Luka is superior compared to her, but it is what it is. Clara will stay my one and only phys for now. Now thinking of speed boots for her... With e1 this idea become much stronger.. With e2(pls game, give me her e2!) I will do it for sure.
I am not pulling for Kafka since I already have JY and his LC (at S2). Both of them are lightning DPS regardless if one is better than the other. My main focus is getting a DPS per element first. My next one would be IL since I do not have an Imaginary DPS yet.
And there is very possibly won't be any other characters in the visible future that could replace Kafka any time soon. And you're right, she will be needed to bring out the full potential of future 5* DoT units.
05:38 hard disagree with ya here bud. Hypercarry Kafka even on dot build is good. This "she's expensive because she needs other units" is kind of an L take coz who doesn't need a team. Kafka doesn't NEED other dot characters. It's one of her optimal party options but you can just slot her in your team, replace your previous dps and she's good to go. I mean anyone who's been playing with at least some braincells would have tingyun or pela built, maybe asta plus a healer/tank. She's really strong and I personally didn't expect that. I thought she'd be mid, I pulled coz she's hot 😂
Just like Genshin, hyper carries will get power crept easily. Kafka's playstyle is mainly enabling DoTs, and the game is just barely started, they will release more 5star DoT characters in the future, and when that happen Kafka will only get more relevant. The only downside of playing Kafka is that you have to invest a lot, either you go all out for Kafkas alone or you build more DoT character, which is still a lot of investment. Sampo's ult increase DoT damages and Luka's kit can dispell enemy buff and increase dmg taken by them, so that stacks a lot. Yeah, both have a lot of investment to make them strong, you have to invest a lot on relics on Jing Yuan while you have to invest a lot of nihility material for Kafka, so the short answer to "do i pull for Kafka even if i already have Jing Yuan?" for F2Ps out there is if you dont have any interest in Imbibitor Lunae, i'd say go for it. Unless you're a Fu Xuan stand and dont want to gamble 50:50 after you pulled Kafka. Because i'm pretty sure you can barely get atleast 1 5star character by the end each patch.
I have Jing Yuan and his light cone, decent relics, traces leveled… and he’s so much worse than my Kafka with Fermata. It just feels bad to use him, I use his skill and it’s like I’m hitting the enemies with a sponge.

As someone who have both Jing Yuan and Kafka, they're good in their own way. For Jing Yuan, his build is more expensive than Kafka as he needs crit, but his team composition is not really as demanding as Kafka for max damage output. Kafka has a simpler build because she doesn't rely on crit, but she needs other DOT characters to maximize her gameplay
Personally, I tried Kafka thanks to the new event. I tried her with her best supports 'cause I had them already built (hence why I was thinking about pulling for her) but I've felt pretty underwhelmed. I'm just going to wait for Imbibitor Lunae and the Fu Xuan, if I get lucky enough.

Yeah its making it diificult in clearing current MOC 9... Everytime I almost get a weakness break or kill on svarog, the arm keep aiming for my Jing Yuan and CC him. Yeah and the lithtning lord is not activated and i ended up with dead jing yuan and there goes my 3 star 😢

When I read the description of Fire Mc taunt it says " 100% Base Taunt chance"? Maybe the enemy resistance can mitigate the taunt effect chance somehow?

i have a well build jing. 141 speed, 80/160 crit with sw i can force him in any element, pulled for kafka to play dot on the other side
Jing Yuang feels weak if you are not a whale and erudition lightcones are a Joke other than his signature, not to speak of the huge investment and luck that he needs to be good, Kafka only needs traces, you can slap any artifact on her and she’ll be godly with other dot characters, or even hypercarry dot on her own if you wish so and you can use Pela’s lightcone that is easily obtainable or even Fermata that is 100% f2p on her and she’ll be great. Kafka will only get better as the time goes on, Jing Yuang will only get worst. Traces upgrade is NOT expensive, it’s a thing that all characters need, Dps more than ever since they only do dmg. Jing Yuang skill and burst deal low dmg and his only real dps ability is the 10 stack lightning lord that is good only in single target since in aoe the dmg distribution is random, making an Aoe dps Worse in aoe, what a joke
Yup. I personally not even understand people who make and/or follows build guides what says an oddly specific number for trace levels. Like as why not just max them out as much as the person can step-by-step?
I always recommend pulling on Kafka instead of JY even tho I don’t have neither of them and I won’t go for Kafka!
idk about their damage but Kafka's playstyle is the 2nd most fun thing in this game for me next to Clara. Jing Yuan on the other hand is a turn based Eula lul.
regarding the high lvl/trace investments, it's much better than needing crit on relics, at least farming those are guaranteed results, instead of relic rng where you could farm for weeks and got no improvements

Kafka outdamaged Juan in aoe, heck even Blade is better than him and need way less sp. pretty funny when Erudition was supposed to be *THE* aoe damage units.
@@lorraineg8605 Well, Jing Yuan was literally the first limited 5star Erudition. So it was expectable for him to become weaker as we get newer characters that stronger than the previous ones. And Jing Yuan's only hope currently is Fu Xuan but even in that case he will become weaker as new updates comes out.
And Kafka will never be weak in DoT teams if Hoyoverse not releases a DoT that does what Kafka can but on a stronger way. Since Kafka basicly uses the newer and newer DoT characters as a tool.

I mean both are good in their respective scenarios do you need to clear large groups of enemies out quick basically farming calyx's or do you need to just farm enemies in general. I know that's a bad example but each of the characters is good in their own way with this game, a bunch of different scenarios and such. Not like genshin where you got one dps and you're basically set for life.
My biggest thing with it is the game is still in the early stages so you never know if they'll add enemies who can combat DoT or not so it's hard to make a definitive answer atm. I'm just tired of ppl saying she's meta already I swear we said that with Blade so please don't make this a running thing with all the characters.
For gacha games, a DPS for every element is needed. I already have Jing Yuan. Kafka may be better but since my Jing Yuan at E0 can still finish all content of the game, I'm good. 😂

imagine if a unit (not even JY), let's say Himeko, just has the ability to trigger another character's critical attack even though it's not that character's turn
that's basically what Kafka does. sure DoTs aren't crits and they can't crit but you know what they do?? they stack!! it doesn't matter that DoTs don't crit when you have 5 stacks of bleed, shock and wind sheer all on 1 boss, and that's before dmg buffs and debuffs btw, then Kafka can just snap her fingers and make those stacks trigger for absolutely no reason other than she just can
and it's not even Kafka's fault. she's designed that way. her entire schtick is giving people deseases and making other deseases that are already there hurt more.
meanwhile JY gets frozen and the LL just doesn't exist. 1 mechanic (crowd control) completely invalidates JY's entire playstyle.

kinda want her for her uniqueness, but i dont think i will regret not pulling her as i have JY, the problem i am facing is Lunae or Fu Xuen both would add something. Lunae because i dont have a imaginary i'm not counting in Yukong. Fu Xuen (with clara especially) sounds like she is gonna be a real benifit to team comps that play crit/cdm (sorry mommy).
We have the same opinion about having her even I have already Jingyuan is a win-win situation regarding to relics. The only cons that I have is i have to build my sampo and asta or luka because I am still new about DoT teams and I actually liked it. Kafka: strong ST, aoe future potential AND downside, if they introduce more enemies who can cleanse Kafka will fall HARD, currently enemy bronya does that
Jing yuan: strong ST, strongest aoe, fucks up if you get cc'ed, Fu xuan will cure that but its a flaw to consider, future potential (?) If he gets a follow up relic set, since there's a planer ornament for follow up, needs investment.
Who's better? They give almost the same damage with situationally pulling ahead of each other

Saying Kafka cannot hypercarry or needs other DoT units is a gross error.
Phimoji 0-Cycled the MoC with an E0S1 Kafka, and only Silverwolf (E1), Sushang, and Tigyun.
That is a 0-cycle with decent relics and investment in the supports.
Now if another D0T comes out in the future, that just synergizes with Kafka.
People have 0 cycle clears with herta , 0 cycle doesnt mean a character is good, with proper investment any character can do it on the right MoC buff. While you can play Kafka witouth dots and get clears the same way you can play seele witouth a single support and get clears doesnt mean is the best, Dot characters give a lot more damage to a kafka team than other type of team comps
@@chelo136 you miss the point. The 0-cycle was done with a standard attack build and NO other D0T characters. In the hardest content of the game. With just OK artifacts.
The Herta 0-cycles have god-tier artifacts on everyone, huge investment in Light cones, and all E6’ed supports. Whale level stuff (at this point in the game)
The Kafka 0-cycle team is 100% F2P achievable.
Saying she requires D0T is just wrong. Kafka is flexible on how you run her and the kinds of teams you can slot her in.
It is a Hoyo game. All characters are viable with investment. Kafka requires significantly less investment and RNG reliance on artifacts. You do not need to build the other D0T units if you don’t want to. That is the “high investment” many say about Kafka and it is not true.

I think you are misunderstanding what “investment” requires.
Yes, you have a better artifact chance, but the initial build is significant, and the issue with current D0T teams is you really need Kafka for viability. You aren’t building general supports, you are building supports SPECIFICALLY a for Kafka.
Does that mean D0T is bad? No. Not at all. Just time consuming investments.
And with Kafka, that is an option, but hypercarry using standard existing, and universal, supports is just as viable.
You can build D0T if you want, but it is not necessary at all. You can build the D0T units you actually like.

If you're f2p and you already have jing yuan then it doesn't make any sense to pull for Kafka. Unless you skipped the entire last patch and don't want to pull for the next 2 patches then it'd be OK to pull her.

I'm skipping because JY is already built enough to help me full clear MoC. Imo better to pull for DPS of new elements to be able to tackle a wider variety of stages than double up on the same element this early in the game.

Not sure if your Clara is built, but on the second half of Memory of Chaos 10 she performs extremely well since Kafka is so aggressive. I took Clara, Luocha, Jing Yuan for extra dmg since this team has a lot of skill points and Natasha for emergency healing.

How is Kafka expensive lol? You slap attack and speed relics on her with some dot units like sampo or Luka and she still does work.
Well she’s easy to build but “expensive” since you would have to level up other DoT units, farm for their talents, and so on as well as building Kafka herself. It’s a lot of materials
Kafka is my second limited charaster, after SW. I loose 50/50 to e1 Clara at 75-80, and got her with e1 at next 50 pulls, pretty happy with that result.
Fun part is - I still dont got Luka... I dont have Sushang, and i was thinking like okay, not a big deal Luka will be my savior! 100+ pull later, i got 3 lightcones, 3 Sampo, and my Serval from e6 go up to e10. Yeah. Without e1 on Kafka i would be mad. With it im perfectly fine, just one more elusive 4* ignoring my roster. Shame they both phys and extremly good. I have found some leaks about free Sushang, so i guess i might build her later on. I still think Luka is superior compared to her, but it is what it is. Clara will stay my one and only phys for now. Now thinking of speed boots for her... With e1 this idea become much stronger.. With e2(pls game, give me her e2!) I will do it for sure.
I am not pulling for Kafka since I already have JY and his LC (at S2). Both of them are lightning DPS regardless if one is better than the other. My main focus is getting a DPS per element first. My next one would be IL since I do not have an Imaginary DPS yet.
DPS aside, I see Kafka as more of an enabler. If a future 5 star dot dps come to hsr, Kafka might be the most needed unit for that char.
And there is very possibly won't be any other characters in the visible future that could replace Kafka any time soon. And you're right, she will be needed to bring out the full potential of future 5* DoT units.

Kafka doesn't NEED other dot characters. It's one of her optimal party options but you can just slot her in your team, replace your previous dps and she's good to go. I mean anyone who's been playing with at least some braincells would have tingyun or pela built, maybe asta plus a healer/tank.

Just like Genshin, hyper carries will get power crept easily. Kafka's playstyle is mainly enabling DoTs, and the game is just barely started, they will release more 5star DoT characters in the future, and when that happen Kafka will only get more relevant.
The only downside of playing Kafka is that you have to invest a lot, either you go all out for Kafkas alone or you build more DoT character, which is still a lot of investment. Sampo's ult increase DoT damages and Luka's kit can dispell enemy buff and increase dmg taken by them, so that stacks a lot.
Yeah, both have a lot of investment to make them strong, you have to invest a lot on relics on Jing Yuan while you have to invest a lot of nihility material for Kafka, so the short answer to "do i pull for Kafka even if i already have Jing Yuan?" for F2Ps out there is if you dont have any interest in Imbibitor Lunae, i'd say go for it. Unless you're a Fu Xuan stand and dont want to gamble 50:50 after you pulled Kafka. Because i'm pretty sure you can barely get atleast 1 5star character by the end each patch.
