      I believe apart from Aberdeen and Gatwick (and maybe Heathrow ?) airport there aren't any other bendy buses in regular service in the UK

      Regular commuters are happy to see bendies as they can easily evade the fare, from what I heard

      @@darkwolfcz434 the Brighton ones were retired this year and at least one was semi preserved and can be found on rail replacement work

  • @TrainsAndBusesAroundNELondon25

    They're still in service
    Not just York that has the last ones but Aberdeen has BG58 reg Citaro Gs

    It's sad to see these retire since there are so few articulated buses left in the UK...the only other places I can name that have artics in the UK are Stansted airport and Aberdeen

    • @glitchFan2428
      @glitchFan2428  Рік тому +2

      I didn't know Stansted had them, although if I remember correctly Gatwick has some 17 plate citaro c2s.. and there's at least one semi preserved citaro G (ex Brighton) on rail replacement work in the north west. Still very rare though

    the front and back really looks similar to the citaro c1. this citaro g looks like its worth to be an addition to the singapore’s bendy bus fleet.

      I would really like to see that however Singapore generally doesn't really like bendies

    There fate will be sealed in the coming days sadly , the route 2 is being diverted away from the low bridges , allowing the route to use double deckers

      These Citaros are nothing compared to the bendies we have seen in Singapore

    Bendy buses in red london cannot last long for its debut like the old ones due to overheating fuel inneficiency and that’s why they’re weren’t popular

      Apart from that, they are often stuck on turning within narrow streets (don't forget that bendy buses have massive turning radiuses) and often overheated and burned down. Finally fare evasion on such buses were just like the plague, since people can board from any door and hence not pay the bus fare in the absence of the bus captain's awareness.
      Due to their issues when serving London, Boris Johnson (mayor of London then) in 2008 decided to replace these with newer high-capacity buses called the New Routemaster (Borismaster), albeit that the latter also had more problems. 😂
