I don't know of the connection to Lilit BUT #Asherah - She Who Walks on the Sea - This gave me chill bumps and a feeling of #home. ♀️🌊 #HebrewGoddess

you can learn more about the lilit lore if oyu check out my other labyrinth edits (link in the description).
i grew up listening to legends and myths from all over the world and i like to play with them...explore how humans tend to twist the simple into something grand and epic

@@cursethestarss I think that's a good upbringing and your work is beautifully expressive and deeply felt.
I know various short tales or backgrounds of/to #Lilit/Lilith.
The first being she was the first woman which I would assume meant part of the intersex or "siamese twins" that were the first human Adam Kadmon. She was Adam's equal (but not his clone opposite) and he didn't like that. She wanted to be equal and "on top" so the story goes. Adam didn't like that, her. Enraged she became the first to speak ITs name, "The (Holy) Name", and she lifted off the ground flying off to become the mother of (half?) demons, inccubi and succubi... Lilim. And in a sense then, vampires I suppose. It's been said "wet dreams" are her doing and so she can give birth to many demons which apparently "God" kills her children a lot too I don't remember. It's messed up.
There have been archeological finds of ancient Semitic (others too?) incantations inscribed along with a sketch of her on/in bowls for warding her off during childbirth lest she still the baby's breath, life force.
A new midrash/tale written by Rabbi Jill Hammer... (if I remember correctly) expresses Lilith as the dark mother or shadow self/side to Chaya (Eve). Something like that. I loved it but I need to re-read it.
I'll most certainly check out more of your work!

There’s something... so inexplicably serene about this. I think with the consumption of media we forget that film is an art form. This hits me to the very core, and I cannot tell you why. The lonely vocals, combined with the instrumental score; The soft voice (almost reassuring); the tones of cool blue and beautiful frigid white. Then it’s purity shifts and stains and you see the agony in her eyes. More so than the original media could ever convey.
This is so incredibly stunning, thank you for sharing it.

    • @cursethestarss

i share your thoughts in that department. i mean, it's not like there is no films that aren't aiming for that sense of beauty and art and something just.... something that just art itself can express. because there are those but the problem is we kinda got numb over time because there is SO MUCH going on and SO MANY things to see and it becomes more of a chore than anything. i miss the times when films got made just because there was a story to tell and it was weird and out there but it was its own thing.
thank you for the most beautiful words, they made my heart swell. they made my day, truly.

I am so in love with this colouring and how you combined so many various movies together to tell a story! This is completely ethereal and the aestherics are so beautiful!! ♡

i love this colouring too, it's mesmerizing isn't it? *sigh*
thank you so much, i'm happy you've liked it! -especially since it's more aesthetics than the story-

tbh i don't really get the story they are trying to tell but i do _love_ the aesthetics of it.
that's such a kind thing to say, thank you! i'm currently working on a proper koschei&marija edit so hopefully we'll get another installment soon

this is magnificent. ethereal. timeless. i have no words for how magical this is. the casting, the voiceover, the music, the pacing, the manips, i'm just !??!?!??!?!? the atmosphere is so captivating, drawing you in and seducing you, hypnotizing you until you can't help but staring into the beautiful abyss that is this video, completely transfixed for almost three fucking minutes.
just. wow. this kind of otherworldly aesthetic is hashtag goals.

i love the "i'm just ???????" part, i relate to that feeling and state of mind so much.
you know i feel like this song is a *must* for your skald verse, it just needs to be done -go and do it-
i'm still trying to get a hold of all the "aesthetics" part of editing so 80% have no idea what i'm doing but i'll shut up now bc you'll strangle me if i keep complaining like this haha
i could not ask for a better person to yell at the sky for me, you are beyond precious

    ODA A ASHERAH

Is this based off of a book? Or a movie or something? Mythology?

    • @cursethestarss
      @cursethestarss  5 років тому +1

it's a story spanning across the generations of goblin kings and the labyrinth. i've been "inventing" it in my head since i was a child after my first viewing of labyrinth film. and yes, it references some myths and legends from various cultures around the world trying to showcase how people tend to make up their own versions of people and history by mixing them and twisting them into something that has very little to do with the original events and people.
