    i BOUGHT NEW, A 1970 911T, four speed, s Gauges, appearance package, chrome wheels, AMFM stereo, and loved it, BUT, it was the last one with Carburetors and was fast but didn't have the ease of driving the 2.4 injection, had. My perfect car was 1972, five speed "S", with leather, in black, and silver exterior . 200 Hp and not 142, as my car had. I would have got alloy wheels, widest ones available from the Factory, and probably would have killed my self in it, but would have died with a smile on my face....PS I bought my car for 7,000 and sold it 14 years later for 8,700. Today in the shape I sold it in, (rebuilt engine) it is selling for 25K, and you never see early 911's on the street any more.

      @@jackjohnsen8506 I have a lead on one, an E model, for 65k between friends. Seller asking 75 but will do 65 for friend. It needs interior and the paint is an older re spray. No rust. Looks good. The motor has not been freshened up but runs well. So this one in what I would call fair to good is in that 65k range. To get up to the next level there is a quantum leap in cost.

    You know what's amazing is if were to put someone in a time capsule from 1966 and brought them to 2023, there would two cars that they would recognize instantly, and that would be a 1966 Porsche 911 and a 1966 Ford Mustang fastback, there body Styles have virtually stayed the same. Awesome Porsche.

    He never tells us why he loves the car, he never tells us what he likes about driving it, he never tells us what makes it special, he never tells us what it gives that today's cars don't. He just rattles on what you could read in a catalog, what the cars came with, woopi! how exciting, and rattles off how many owners and how he got it, bla, bla, bla, again, self-therapy, self-indulging stuff that no one needs to hear, but never a second about the driving experience of the actual car. Just a typical collector but "not" a car guy. Sad, cars like this should be owned by real enthusiasts, not bean counter collectors.

    Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
    In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
    on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!

    • @bigmacdaddy1234
      @bigmacdaddy1234 2 роки тому +3

      Move to New Jersey. Plenty of new gas stations are opening up and the state is very welcoming of classic cars. No emissions test required for cars 20 years old.

      Don’t worry once governments realize that the ice bans are virtually impossible to implement without destroying their economies they will back off and all those car bans will be reversed/delayed indefinitely.

      Uhhhh , sounds like plans . I believe somebody might plan that but the level of disruption to pull that off will be remarkable . I could be wrong but like most things I think they make It sound worse so people complain less when whatever they do happens . The logistics of everything you just quoted are wild . Living In NY I can't even begin to see how that could happen regardless of laws . The actual physics of it and change and adaptation to make that happen is nutty .
      If it were the case it isn't for any reason about ecology or the atmosphere . They would first stop making passenger cars that weighed as much as 10k lbs if anybody was actually serious regardless of how it's powered . There's a million ways to reduce OVERALL CONSUMPTION but it means stopping all sorts of companies making money so I will believe it when I see it .
      GM just invested a mess of money into the next generation V8 that will make more power then current V8s burning less fuel cleaner and without cyl deactivation. I cant see they would invest if that was coming to NY and CA the 2 biggest markets . Somehow I think the lawyers and bean counters at GM have some bead on what's coming over a random post saying don't invest in anything with an engine .
      A porsche like this with 40K ORIGINAL miles is not a problem compared to a new 10klb hummer that goes 0-60 in 4 sec or whatever insanity using batteries. The electricity to push that hummer that fast comes from burning something or burning something to build a windmill made of stuff being pulled from the ground . No actual reason to get rid of much of the old stuff .
      Changing new stuff sure . But some of It, what your saying is people talking , you can make laws that people can only breath their own farts , but I dont see how you enforce them .
