Between this company and kempower they need to put the squeeze on all the suppliers for evgo and ea the unreliability of those chargers with those networks is astounding and completely unacceptable
High prices per KW is not the best way to advance the EV market. Remember that traditional gas stations only make a few cents per gallon. That’s why the convenience store was born to associate with gas sales. Get the customer out of the car and into the store to purchase food and drinks because that’s where the profits are. Great interview.
Price per Kelvin-Watts? That won't work. Per kWh, per minute or a combination is the common way. A pure per kWh is the most optimal as it enables load sharing..
Great show Francie! You and Batteries Included are my two main podcasts and also Autoline Daily / Autoline After Hours. I usually listen while working around the house (dishes, laundry, straightening/organizing, etc) or getting ready for work (Friday mornings-Batteries Included). Frequently, I do watch some while I work but I often am just listening as I have my phone in my pocket as I move around the house. Love the shows with Jordan. You both have great team energy. You work really well together and compliment each other well. I hope to see him on the podcast frequently. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
Since they are being built in Wi I hope they get a lot of distribution in not just "America's smile" but in the north central states too. We're lacking in DCFC infrastructure BADLY!!!
I listen to podcasts at all times of day, including when I am going to sleep or am awake at night. Yes, sometimes I have to listen again because I fall asleep at night.
Good interview, thank you. Was disappointed that Mike did not provide further details for Alpitronic or Mercedes Benz plug and charge solution that all of us EV owners want. I watched Kyle's Las Vegas back to Colorado EV SUV video in which the MB EQS SUV plug and charge started working on EA. This surprised Kyle but shows that MB and EA are turning this feature on. I would expect any EV charger that signs with MB would have to provide this solution, not something that comes after deployment. This needs to be investigated further.
wow, this is awesome, this will solidify the charging reliability and experience, strange that this was not initiated here in this country, Tesla was well aware of this and strived to make this work, thanks to Alpitronic and Tesla, Thank you Thank you Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. It has been incredibly valuable to me. I look forward to the opportunity to learn more from you in the future.
Any tie in to Ionna? Fast and reliable would be nice. Looking forward to the sites map and announcements. 1 billion dollars is nice, over what time frame? Love they already are made in the US and meet all the requirements. This is a big deal.
Today’s broadcast made my morning coffee great I wonder if we can have more information about the relationship between higher charger KW and the car charging curve
Thanks Question: Since you have a Tesla EV and driven a Fisker Ocean like me. When you have your Tesla in your garage and charging or not does it get very Warm inside your Tesla compared to the Fisker Ocean. My Fisker seems to be very warm for some reason after charging overnight. Also, my Mirror fan is now coming on even though I have Software version 2.0. Also, does this warm inside true of all EV's like the RIVIAN, etc...
15:55 If you do not want adapters, then you also have to have CHAdeMO. Their chargers do have CHAdeMO option, not the CHAdeMO max of 400kW, only 62.5kW.
is there any intent to bring their chargers to all of North America? Canada? btw, I listen to podcasts mostly when driving or other activities out of the house otherwise I watch OOSP on YT
Good morning Francie. Enjoying my morning coffee while listening. Love to see more companies getting into the charging network. Jus hoping they develop a North American network. Please don't forget about the 40 million citizens in Canada
The more charging suppliers the better! Just make everything NACS, I know they're ramping that up, but I'm surprised it's taking as long as it has so far.
@@oj9886as tesla can make money on all the other parts of their business, so they don't need to make as must or really any money per site currently. Like how gas is sold for very little margin to get people into the shop. As tesla can get value on the sale of cars, and as nudge factor in buying a tesla over other manufacturers. I think tesla aggressive pricing more about keeping there existing sites busy so to make a little more money per site. Also partly to keep competition in check, so there will not be lots of national rival popping up for a while. As for all other non car manufacturers backed CPO it has to have some margin to pay back all the costs in getting the site up and running or they not going to get the financing required to build out the sites.
Francie, it would be if great Alpitronic had a Map on their website that shows all the locations of their public use charging installations. OFF Topic Request for you. Can you do a show with UA-camr Josh Charles and talk about his COULst. L2 project initiative?

I wonder if IONNA will go with Alpitronic.
Edit: I see they’re in Charlotte, not far from IONNA’s Durham HQ.
Great to see these DCFC alternatives…Thanks Francie!
One minor correction... That Circle K site you mentioned is in Rock Hill, SC, not Rock Spring, SC (2764 Cherry Rd.)

Every exec needs to be asked what BEVs they drive and if they have done road trips in US.

I usually listen in the morning while doing my workout, running or walking
Thank You Francie for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth.... Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste .. 🙏🏻 😊 ✌ ☮ ❤ 🕊
Francie' isnt tall, but she's gorgeous. Anyway, will Alpitronic be making chargers for IONNA?

I had some issues with the Alpitronic chargers, I maybe was not lucky...
The best in the business are Kempower chargers.
Great interview!

Excellent interview, Francie!!
Thanks for the great interview.⚡️⚡️⚡️

You mentioned cable management. Drilling down a bit on that, I was hoping to hear about strategies to prevent cable theft.
Morning espresso here in Seattle at 6:45am
Thanks Francie
Kempower in Durham and Alpitronic Americas in Charlotte!! Come on state tax incentives!!!
More chargers, go go go!
Does this mean ChargePoint is no longer in partnership with Mercedes. Is Alpitronic offering more for less taking market share from ChargePoint?
Chargepoint like be the payment processor, since that their strength, with alpitronic being the hardware provider and maintainer.
I’d like to hear their deployment strategy. Number, timing and geography.

Getting coffee!
This might help sell more of their EVs to get that type of service in the US.
Someone posted that Ionna is using the Alpitronic 400 hypercharger in their new location in Houston. Can anyone confirm?
Eating a snack before mowing the lawn.
Make charging universal! Power is power
UL certified should lower fire and liability insurance costs for the owner/operator of the charging station. Nice.
Charging is misspelled if you'd like to fix it.
I listen while walking me dog :)
Cool!

Answering Your Original Question: I am in my Mach E GTP wishing for faster DC charging...
Now they need to get together with BK to set up charge stations
Kyle can set them up with a contact to get them going
My Bolt says: "Why?" :)
Charge 8 Bolts at maximum power!

Don’t that degrade the battery faster?

I want reliable high speed and competitive charging costs, not like 50-60 cents /kwh. That defeats the purpose 14:11
You also “want” to be a lottery winner …….. entitled aren’t you!
@@tonys9413 how is it entitlement. Tesla superchargers are much cheaper priced than non Tesla.
@@oj9886Not true …. Check it out; in many locations, some Tesla drivers try to use EA because it’s cheaper (terrible reliability, though).

Socal?
Then criminals will steal the copper cables from and render them useless.
Have washed dishes to your podcast 😂
What a joke. We need a few years to catch up to what Tesla did in 2012 😂
seem still unable to understand that charging stations should be pass through, though
