All you have is bunch of kids shooting threepointerrs, with absolutely no defense. Basketball fans are getting fed-up with kids making millions and are not competing anymore on defense like motombo. It's not about surpassing football. Football is also number 1 in Spain and Italy yet both countries also have their professional basketball league too. So what is the problem? In the USA basketball is not the only sport either. People can like many sports not just one.
I don't get this either or mentality. Soccer (football) will be the number 1 global sport for generations to come. Also, NBA has grown globally the fastest of any sport in the last 25 - 30 years. With more academy and basketball clinics as well as local leagues popping up globally, the NBA is definitely in that second spot. I was shooting soccer ball through a make shift hoop in a mangexisted. in my backyard (naturally occurring in the braches) before I even knew Hockey, American football, tennis, golf, or rugby even exist.
