The single siders are probably wonderful keepers. The yellow and pink labels also, and the foreign and American ones also. Some of the HMV ones there though, are part ones that seem to have been separated from their 'mates'. These are identified by either 'record #' (mostly), or by the number on the side of the labels. Some of those seem to be quite high (in the twenties), so are probably going to be difficult to get the other ones of them. (Note the low numbered and high numbered sides are opposing, so one has side #1 and on the reverse is side #20 or whatever). I'm probably telling you what you already know, but for those who don't this might help a bit. One of the HMV ones early in the video has a label stamped on it, this might be an unusual one. One of the Parlophone ones is an interesting variant also, with a different design to the other. And some of the Columbia ones are interesting, as they are older, maybe. One has the foreign 'Electronically Recorded' on it, so I don't know how interesting, or unique that is. Hope this helps, a little. Overall, however, some great ones there. (Not all though). Oh, and the BBC one might be a play, so could be a unique recording as well as the sleeve, as I doubt it will have been bought by too many.
Yes, some hidden gems in there. I'm not planning on keeping them all, but it's always good to get other people's opinions as I don't spot all the details when making (or editing) the videos. Thanks 😀 👍
Ive always been infatuated with old labels! I have a 1902 7 inch columbia, the earliest disc record i own. Im also a fan of the backplates, the recording angel is an iconic image, as well as the later single siders with the patterns and the huge "His Masters Voice" text
@@atariboy77 Yes indeed. There is something very physical about these early records. I'm not sure what the earliest record I have, but I believe I have one from 1902 also. Thanks 😀 👍

@TheBudgie29 Thanks very much for all the details. I have been very busy this week, so I am still catching up on comments and also need to look at the records again. Thanks 😀 👍
@recordhog78 Thanks 😀👍. Glad you enjoyed it. You seem to be doing very well picking up stuff, too. I have seen another of that round metal HMV needle container you recently got in an antiques shop for £50-£60. Great find! 😀
I don't always buy the lot. At the sale, I bought a single record from one box, and nothing from 2 other boxes I looked at. It's a question of time, though. As you can see from this video, even going through the box fairly quickly took time. The whole box was so cheap it was just easier to buy the lot and move on. I could see from even a small inspection it was going to have some good stuff in it. Thanks 😀 👍

What colour is that Caruso record label called ….. is a peach colour ?
28:32 This german Grammophon record should be from after 1926 and there might be a date in the runout
Thanks 😀 👍. I will take a look
We love finding record deals as well at discount shops!
@OurRetireEarlyJourney It's great fun, though I buy far more than I ever listen to! 😅. Thanks 😀 👍

That is very kind of you to say. Thanks 😀 👍

The german Grammophon record is from the late 30s to early 40s I think. Maybe there's a date in the runout
Thanks 😀 👍. I will check for a date 😀
43:48 This record should be from after 1909 because it has Nipper the dog on it, which was introduced in 1909 in Germany
Yes, I think it must be from about that date. Thanks 😀 👍

Some nice early records are in there. I'm only at the start.
Yes, looking good! Thanks 😀 👍
hm nice records 👍
Thanks 😀 👍
What will you do with the records you won't want. I'm not after them. I was just wondering, as someday I might have to consider getting rid of some.
Probably Freecycle or something similar. Ultimately if I run out of space I will take them down to the reuse shop at the recycling centre 😳
In very good condition also
Indeed 😅
Why do you always buy the whole lot even while only a very few to none are of interested?

Sorry if my comment is a bit long.
No problem. Very interesting stuff. Thanks 😀 👍
