I was watching the bass player trying to get Tab's mic turned down. I thought it was just fine because I could hear what he was singing about unlike bands like Primus that have terrible mixing on the vocals.
He is a great performer. One of my top concerts I have been to. Such an amazing player with an equally amazing backing band. Plus his banter really reminds me of mitch hedburg. Not only do you get to see some of the best playing of today, but you get some comedy also. Love this man and his music. One of a kind.
@@jamesgoltz4792 Attempting to compare a Tab Benoit and a band such as Primus is somewhat of a stretch. Tab is a blues/ rock artist and plays clubs when he's out on the road. Much easier to mix a trio in your typical club than a heavy, laoud guitar band or whatever Primus is exactly. Plus those guys are appearing in much larger numberd seated venues which will always be a much greater chalenge for the front of house mixing engineers, especialy with vocals trying to be heard clearly over a whole lot of roaring sound. Nothing against Primus; I'm really not that familier with them other than they have been succesful. I think that I watched a filmed concert they did at Red Rocks out in Colorado. Tab Benoit is a much diffrent animal. But it's cool to see that you have a wide intrest in music!

His style is unique. I did play some bass in the 70's. Used to have a old fender precision. Few months ago I checked the price on the internet, that fender price was $10-15,000!. Well happy memorial day and if you are a vet, thanks for your service.

I hope he gets to hold the Voice of the Wetlands festival in his bayou hometown (Houma, LA) this year; 3 days of music, lots of great bands, and it's *FREE*! ( PS, I don't just get how anyone can downvote this. There sure are some miserable people in the world).
I've seen him a few times in Michigan too. He puts on one HELL of a good show. The last time was at a bar and the poor guy had the flu. He played anyway and kicked it. He even played the drums for a bit. Damn talented and your right, any chance to see him, DO IT.
It's an individual thing good 'un. Some folks 'get it' .. and some don't. Others vote 'dislike' just to be different from the rest. I used to see Tab all the time in the early 2000’s up in Steamboat Springs, CO. Such a cool guy and monster player. He’d talk gear between sets with us drunk wannabe players. Too cool.
Been a fan of Tab since Nice n Warm came out. I remember not being able to afford the CD but a local music shop had it playing all the time so I would listen to it and sit there. I was a teen.
Just saw him in wichita, ks. for the first time and a huge SRV fan. Tab is a beyond worthy replacement for the way Stevie used to pick flawlessly and rock the stage. Its ridiculous!
Saw him just last night in Mobile. First time, and I can say I'm a fan now. Police had to come in to stop the dancing in the aisles when he played a really fun Zydeco set. He doesn't have a play list. He plays songs that people yell out from the audience. I didn't have anything to offer, but from what I saw, he's got a pretty rabid fan base here in Mobile.
This dude is a pure entertainer. I saw him first at Sellersville Theater and he was opening for a headliner, he may have stole the show that night ;-) - He's funny too :-)
Been watching and listening to him since he was just a kid, off the top of my head I’d say for 25 years, just one more benefit of living in the Texas/Louisiana state line area.
Met Tab back in the early 90’s when he use to go down to Morgan City, La. and Baton Rouge, awesome blues player! Glad I ran across this video, good to see he’s still out there performing and bringing the Blues!
Saw them last night in Fargo ! Excellent! Noticed the same no pedals, beautiful beat up Fender! Corey is fantastic bassist ! REAL roots raw hard good music ! Great story teller also! Everyone should them at least one time, was my first, knew of Tab, have music, but need to see them several more times. Alastaire Greene opened with Tab on the drums !Alastaire great guitarist and song writer also !

Hey man you don't need the wetlands really. Just take a great driving trip out to Ayers Rock, strap on a pair of headphones and Tab and the band will sound just as good!!
I have love'd Tab since the 1st time we saw him 15 yrs ago at Rhythm Room in Phoenix. We try to see him anytime he comes to town. He has such a great sense of humor in addition to his excellant guitar skills. Can't wait to see him again at Antoine's May 28th!! 😊❤❤
Somehow, this is the first time having heard Tab Benoit, and I'm quite impressed. Not only some truly awesome blues guitar, but was surprised to see him perform masterfully on the kit. Equally impressed with JP Soars, who had likewise never heard before. Excellent video and audio work for this performance! Much appreciation for posting!

I saw him in Orlando either right before this or right after. He was amazing as always. It was so great to see live music again. It seemed like he was pretty stoked to be able to play again also.

He runs into both, both are mic’d, and his sound is the combination of the two. The Super clone is for breakup, and the Twin for clarity. He has the back of the Twin mic’d too.

Im a guitar player and I love the way Tab Improviees on stage and he sings with a "whole lotta soul" . His bass player is tight as heck and looks like he's the happiest guy onstage. But Terrance Higgins is absolutely one of the most tasteful drummers I've ever heard behind a kit!! Can't wait to see these guys again!!!

Never heard of him till about 2 weeks ago. Love blues, Stevie goes without question, Winters, Elmore some of my favorites. This guy gets it.
Tab Benoit shows are not to be missed! If the opportunity presents itself GO! No excuses just GO! Guaranteed you won't regret it.

No pedals! Just two amps (category 5) 1 set for rhythm and 1 for lead. Tone is all in his hands. Hes one of the best!
