I am a grandma with an 11 y/o granddaughter thats getting bullied. I think what you said on this video is so impressive. You have a big heart. I'm going to let her watch and listen to what you say. You are an upstanding young man and I think you for that.
Bless you for being raised as you were. As a disabled veteran I was bullied as a little kid on our school bus . It affected my life all through my formative years. That's one of the reasons I went in the military besides wanting to not only serve my country likey dad and grow to be more than what I was back then.
My son has severe autism and is non-verbal. He has an incredible heart and not hurtful bone in his body. He is the true definition of Innocence. He goes to high school next year and I pray he has a protector/guardian such as yourself watching over him when I can’t. Thanks my brother for the reaction.
I wish there were more people (kids at the time) now. I have a 12yr old son who is high functioning autistic in the 6th grade and he has never had a friend at school. He is by himself a lot. So thank you for being you 😊
Thanks for your reaction! This song has a very powerful message to a very serious subject. Love that Home Free isn't afraid to tackle the issue of bullying. And I really appreciate that Home Free doesn't take the limelight away from the original artist & the message.
This is my favorite song. I use to get picked on all the time. My grandmother use to always tell me do on to others as you want to be treated. It took me in my 40’s to truly understand. I have tried to teach my kids and my grandchildren the same.
Your parents should be proud, that you understand & acknowledge the special place in our lives that those w/ handicaps have! Wether it's a physical or mental handicap, they serve a purpose in this world! My aunt had down syndrome. She knew no stranger's. She showed me how to love everyone, no matter what happened! She was filled with the most purest love, and shared it w/ everyone!
Great reaction!! ❤ I coach softball for a special needs league and this song is always played at our state games each year. As well as, Garth Brooks “Standing Outside The Fire” & Carrie Underwood “The Champion” ft. Ludacris. We have players who range between the ages of 5-68, and all different types of physical and mental disabilities. No matter how bad my day has been, what I’m struggling with or stressed about, when I step onto that field with my players all the bad is instantly gone. They are always happy, determined, strong willed and it’s completely infectious. It’s truly a blessing to coach them! There’s no bullying or bad attitudes, they’re all equal and supportive of each other. The world could learn a lot from them!! If we could all view each other as they do, the world would be a much better place!!
I was a kid everyone laughed at. I could do nothing right… I was always picked on… I taught my child to befriend the little guys, the people in need of a friend, especially those others would be cruel to. She was always so sweet and would. Volunteer to help those who needed it, and never intentionally hurt anyone’s feelings. It made her a target in ways but she could have cared less and at 21 she is still that way. You are teaching your kids well and I realized it all starts at home and more people need to hear your words!
Thank You Sweetie.. That was for my Granddaughter Cooper'.. Who LOVES her little Brother Corbin who has Downs Synonym.. And your right he's loving, pure, genuinely, happy and giving and he's just 3.. I've taught my kids just like your parents did be kind.. My son goes over to pick up my granddaughter for his weekend... and when Corbin (her brother) sees MY SON COOPER'S DAD...He just lights up.. AGAIN.. I PICKED THIS SONG TO HOPEFULLY LET YOUR VIEWERS SEE HOW THEY HAVE FEELING TOO...❤❤❤
Bless your parents for raising you to an upstanding young man! Thank your parents and give them a big hug! I'm 69, and the single mom of a 47 year old special needs man. He was born healthy, got sick as a infant. He has the abilities of a 6 month old. His dad left.
I will never tolerate bullies. That's just how I was built. Most of the trouble I got into in my younger years was because I can't tolerate bullies. I got my ass busted (in school) at times for fighting for "the little guy", but it was worth it. Peace, Love!!
I was the same way, I got into fights protecting vulnerable kids at school and on the bus. My youngest took after me, he once got suspended for fighting a bully who was brutally picking on a special needs kid. I took him to pick out a nice new pair of shoes and to the movies on the days he was suspended. 🤘
This right here is why I love spending time on your channel, my friend...your big heart is worn on your sleeve openly! Never change. I'm happy to hear that you're raising your own kids to be loving like you. ❤👍
Just happened on this video & subscribed on the spot because you're the type of beautiful person we all need more of in our lives. Thanks for making my day with your words on this video. I was that kid always picked last. It worked out for me because, without friends, I learned to entertain myself, and to follow my own ethics and morals. Since knew I would never fit in, I never tried, and that led to a life of doing all sorts of unusual things that most folks never get to do. And I have a brother who has Down Syndrome, so for all those reasons, your words were a huge ray of light in my day. Lots of love to you.
A beautiful collaboration. Mark Wills is a great singer. And then my favorite group Home Free in the background sounds fabulous. A beautiful song and video with a sad subject and important message. I know what bullying is. Not by children, but by the teachers. I never told my family and thought I could handle it all. Now I am 59 years old, and only 2 years ago did I find out what bullying has determined my life. It's so good that it's getting attention. Because bullying has to end. Think about what you're doing to someone like that.
The man singing is Mark Wills the original artist. Although he didn't write this song the man that did wrote it for his daughter that was bullied. The woman that joined him is his daughter. I think the character believed that maybe these two boys were coming from a negative situation themselves. His response was to help and become their friends. Admittedly a better response than I would have had. He's a better person than me.😊
I'm disabled and grew up being bullied. didn't have many people who stood up for me until i got to highschool. one friend in particular made it all stop. he saw what was going on and how it was affecting me mentally and i didn't find out until later but he told all of them to leave me alone or they'd be dealing with him. he kinda had a reputation of not being afraid to get into fights. needless to say we're still very close. you remind me of him. much respect
I think you are one of the most genuine people I've seen in years. This world needs more people that look at life in the manner that you do. Being nice and sucking it up once in a while never gets old in my opinion. Never Lower yourself..it only puts you in a worse position in most situations. You are you and there's only one opinion of you that you yourself should worry about..your own. Be true to yourself.."Pass the Baton of positivity and empathy for others".. and that's what's up. Bev
I'm an old mom. My one and only boy born at the age of 40 with complications. He has been diagnosed autistic. The cruelty he suffers at school hurts me to no amount of measure. I asked him once to say something back to them that was mean, 'But mom i cant, it would hurt their feelings.' I ran from the room trying to hide my sobs. He asked his father, 'Dad can you take me to the doctor so he can take away my autism?' The tears on his fathers face as he had to explain to our eleven year old that there was no medication , no cure. But it would get better if he kept learning. This song hurts. If only every bully was made to feel how they make others hurt. Thank you for this reaction. Much love to you for kindness and empathy.
Your reaction.. priceless and very heartfelt ♥️ Sceez your a wonderful example and I am touched with how you share your wisdom and compassion for others without hesitation!
Originally done by country legend mark wills. This song hits home my godmothers son has a heart condition from birth that left him unique. This was one of the first songs I learned when I started out playing guitar for him sang it a few times for him and his group
My best friend has a grandson that have autism and it sad to see him like this. He is great kid and smart. I am proud of Home Free . Mark is a great singer and songwriter. The harmonies are great from Home Free.
Much love much respect. Its great to hear someone like you on here. As a father of 3 boys, one of which is a young teen, I hope I can continually impart the same sentiments of being the light. As a combat Veteran that served in Afghanistan, I've seen first hand some of what the world has to offer. Unfortunately, not all of the bad in the world is confined to those of us that volunteered to weather that burden. There will always be negativity and darkness in the absence of light. You dont have to be everyones friend, you dont even have to like everyone, but you have to make that choice to be an ass hole. Great reaction, glad i stumbled across it.
Awww such a sweet reaction. Bullying is usually done by those who have been bullied too. I loved this kid’s answer to reach out to them in kindness. They looked shocked by it. Hopefully it turned out well. Mark had a hit with this years ago. His daughter in the blue dress had been bullied. I loved the kids in this. Mark has a really nice voice. Good reaction Sceez. 😍
Allen Shamblin and Steve Seskin, were the writers. The song and its curriculum have been taught in over 185,000 classrooms in over 50 countries around the world.
Loved your reaction. I grew up with a mentally handicapped brother that could not talk. My parents taught me to respect people regardless of any differences. My brother passed away just over 4 years ago and this song hits hard. I teach my daughter the same things I was taught. You need to see Mark Wills original video to this song, it really follows along with the song perfectly.
Thank you for your views. As the dad of a daughter who is "perfectly different", shes in a wheelchair and non-verbal. Shes 21 now. She had people like you behind her. The teachers and administration didnt have to do anything to protect her. The students there did that. If someone made fun of her, or any special needs kiddo.......the football team, the basketball team, volleyball team, lets just say im not sure what happened to those kids, but i know the problem got "solved" and it didnt happen again. My wife was a teacher there at the time. It makes me proud that folks like you still stand up for the special ones. Youre a good man, in my book.
I can really relate to this song. I admit I was always picked last to be on a street baseball team when I was in elementary school. I was bullied in 5th and 6th grade. Almost died, when one of those bullies pushed my face in a pile of snow. I started feeling suffocated. Anyway, I am glad to hear that you're telling your child not to be that way. They way I was treated has affected my self-image to this day.
Hey Sceez, I love that you reacted to this. You have a wonderful heart, but I already knew that when I was watching your Larry Bird videos. Home Free will touch your heart. Thanks, babe.
You are awesome, it is great to hear how people were raised. I was in this kids place. I remember, thinking is this the way it is going to be. My parents were wonderful, teaching me the ways of life. I as bullied by a female, Brutus. We were in grade school, high school. She quit in 10th, grade. I was happy. Here when I graduated high school, she was killed by a drunk driver. Walking home late at night. I was 69 yrs old and I found her grave. And I said to her, I am sorry for you. I forgive you, for mistreating me😐
I added you because of how you feel about handicapped people! I have a son that is 42 now an people still make fun of him! We were sitting there watching tv tonight an I bet he told me 50 times “ mama I Love you” Michael is my pride an joy!! Thank your parents for me!
This made cry. It made me remember my childhood. I was a foster kid with glasses. I would get picked on all the time. It made me a stronger person, as I grew up. At the time, it was so hurtful.
What a great guy you are!! Kuddos to your parents and kuddos to you for being a great parent as well!! Blessings to you and yours!

Powerful. Love goes a long way, even across boundaries nobody thought could ever be broken.
I agree with you 💯 my niece is handicap 27 years old can't walk or can't hear. Can not stand people who can treat a beautiful human like that.
My son has severe autism and is non-verbal. He has an incredible heart and not hurtful bone in his body. He is the true definition of Innocence. He goes to high school next year and I pray he has a protector/guardian such as yourself watching over him when I can’t. Thanks my brother for the reaction.
I wish the same thing for my son. It's so hard as a parent of an autistic child they have the sweetest heart
Music to make us better people....one of the many reasons we love Home Free.
These three remain, Faith, Hope and Love...the GREATEST IS LOVE!!! Without LOVE there is no faith. Without LOVE there is no hope!!!
I wish there were more people (kids at the time) now. I have a 12yr old son who is high functioning autistic in the 6th grade and he has never had a friend at school. He is by himself a lot. So thank you for being you 😊

What a perfect and real reaction. Hats off to your parents and you.
Your outlook, love, and acceptance is something to be admired.
