I’m such a huge nerd for this. I always love attending panels at conventions. To have one at a music festival seems pretty cool. When growing up, I knew a lot of Gen-Xers that love W.A.S.P. I don’t hear folks today talk about them much. As much as I support creative freedom, black metal had a unique sound that I wasn’t sure if it will fit in a “mainstream” platform. I appreciate Cradle and Dimmu bringing attention to a larger crowd, but I felt like those fans didn’t care for the history. This was a great conversation. You did great, Jackie.

Thanks for the support as always, brother! And totally agree with you; I don't mind new people coming into the scene or bands who attract a wider following, but I reserve the right to question their credibility and / or their motivations, at the very least.

Another different episode but quite interesting to follow since that book is pretty good! Thank you Jackie for the short but honest conversation.

This is actually not a numbered episode (another one of those coming next week); I'm posting this as a separate series. Kinda. 😁 Glad you enjoyed it either way! More of these to come.

Kiss trading cards was incredibly influential! Every saturday, you got a new bag of sweets acompanied by a small stack of Kiss cards. That we traded amongst us. This started all the way back in the 70's here. As was W.A.S.P. . But it took many years before alot of the Norwegian BM bands owned up to this. In our early days with Gehenna, most BM bands frowned upon us talking about the W.A.S.P. influence. Svartalv 🤘

We'll need to dedicate some time to W.A.S.P. when we next speak! 😁
