Bravo! This film made me cry! My century old grandma just passed away and I searched UA-cam for a Hometown related video to help me grief. I grew up in the faculty residence right next to the campus off Beijing West Road. My grandfather Zhao RuiHong was a professor here and he taught Chinese School of Comparative Literature. I grew up around this university in the 1980s. The campus was my playground, a great place to play hide and seek. One of the professors in this video said it right, Nanjing University is an incredibly beautiful educational institution. Each of the 4 seasons are distinctively represented in the scenic campus. The winter tranquility, the spring splendor, the summer Cicadas, and the Autumn Gold.

Nanjing university was once the greatest university in Asia, far better than Peking and Tsinghua, beating even university of Tokyo and Hong Kong. It was ranked in top 50 universities in the world by America, and that was a time long before Chinese universities began inflating research output and subsidizing international tuition, in order to boost world rankings. This was all during the republican era though.
