I have and like this jacket. I was surprised that the KR-2i back insert was practically unnoticeable. Also, I feel supported rather than weighed down when wearing it. The black/black is perfect. About as stealthy as this kind of gear can be. :)
According to your size charts, i'm a size 50 with the exception of the waist (i'm in between a 50 and 52). If I were to add the tech air vest, would a 50 work or should I upsize to the 52?
Hey you should size up the the 52 with the tech air vest if the 50 is a bit snug (if your proportions are pushing the 50-51 area), I would recommend getting a jacket that is made for tech-air use so that it is more easily compatible
Alpinestars shame jacket, they literally put level 1 protection on it. Don't think you be safe with that. Compared to super speed 4 this is just for 50cc riders imo
Probably because it’s meant to be used with the tech air 5 airbag. If you’re on a 600 or liter bike and high/low side at 150+mph on the highway you’re not surviving that with either the super speed 4 or this alpinestars jacket unless you have an airbag
I think this is a great jacket let down by two things: 1. Very ugly and cheap looking screen printing. Looks like some kid drew a pattern and went to his local screen printers to print it on the jacket. For one the those lines around the chest are unnecessary, and the angles of the lines create an unflattering silhouette. The knitting adds sufficient style and color in a sophisticated grown up way. 2. There is a lack of good color different options. Like what happened to simple black and white? Black and grey? Some greens, yellows. Make it less of a billboard. A smaller higher quality printed logo or embroidered if you can do that to a high quality on the chest would go a long way compared to this monstrosity. Take a look at how companies in the sportswear industry play with color and branding. Look what their best sellers are.

Yes, tried it on today, protection is very thin and area it covers especially on elbows is inadequate
