We were there for opening weekend and it was anything but smooth sailing. There was a LOT of downtime every day we were there. Even with season fast lane plus we were only able to get a few rides each day. Fingers crossed it opens for coaster mania.
I hope it opens before the first of June. Me and some of my friends will be making a 13 hour drive. We are booked to go to Cedar Point on June 3rd and 4th. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they get it running within the next 10 days cause if not we may cancel our plans and I don’t really want to do that.
Great video! Maybe theyll get this issue fixed with the wheels soon and they wont have this problem with them again. I dont know but maybe if it only has to do with the trains it cant be too bad of an issue. I really enjoyed watching this!

While the issue with the wheel cracking is concerning like you said, hopefully Zamperla CAN figure out the engineering kinks in the trains so riders can safely enjoy this ride. Were gonna give the initial launch to more of a rollback at 101, matching the reverse speed. Kind of to make up for this downtime. Were engineering new trains as we speak, nk charge to cedar point
What's funny is everyone thinks intamin would have done it right the first time... 🤣 If the wheels are the issue, then what does everyone think will happen on falcons flight when it opens.
Intamins Trains are a lot more reliable then this train not even 2 weeks broken dragsters didn’t have this problem til a few years after and it was only 1 train we only started to see this dragster problem was the launch system was too temperamental but the trains were good that being said tho I want this to work Cedar point is my home park anything they add should be good
@@zacharysmith1187 they tested it in the cold. They probably just need to get a different compound urethane on the wheels. Probably nothing wrong with the trains themselves. Probably just de lamination issues due to heat which happens alot on new coasters
This is why I’m glad Waldameer has reliable coasters and rides and I think I’ll just stick to that for now. I mean Cedar Point has other great coasters and stuff but I still don’t really see much of a point going if the coaster I’m looking forward to most is closed 🤷♀️
I think people are blowing this way out of proportion. This is basically a new ride with new technology, prototype trains that have never been used before. Just because Zamperla hasn’t done this before doesn’t mean it’s a concern at this time. For example car manufacturers that have been making cars for decades have recalls on cars all the time. When you have a ride with this much new technology and complexities, it will need time to work out the bugs. Give Zamperla a break! Obviously they lived up to the challenge and developed an awesome ride. Let nature take its course and let’s see what happens.
I still say the original Dragster was sabotaged by a Six Flags employee pretending to be a maintenance worker. Reason being is that Six Flags hated that Cedar Point was more popular than them, so they built Kingda Ka , but they noticed that it wasn’t as popular as Dragster so they sent someone to tamper with it. The accident happened, someone got hurt, and then Cedar Point and Six Flags merged. Coincidence? I think *NOT!!!!!!!!!!*
I think it probably has something to do with the 2020 Coronavirus even though that happened in 2021. I know it hurt the economy a lot. A lot of American adults were on unemployment.

Heck, CP literally just put out that they don't even know if it'll be reopen by the time for Coastermania on June 7th and so I think we should relax and not assume that just because there was some recent unconfirmed testing, that this means that it'll be reopening anytime soon.
I think this whole new project revamp was a joke. I called it from day one when they announced they were going to recreate a reimagined Top Thrill Dragster that they were going to have a lot of maintenance issues, yet apparently they forgot a guest got severely injured in 2021. God forbid, they could have died and if I was that woman I would have sued the park and cedar fair. How many people is it going to take to get injured or die to finally shut down and tear this ride down for good? In my opinion, they should have just tore down the entire structure, made a special plaque of some sort and used that space to build another record breaking coaster that was not going to hurt anybody else but oh no we have to have the biggest, baddest and fastest coaster there is, thus the infamous roller coaster wars.
Fair enough, I can see what you're saying for sure... Though I do think that Cedar Point realizes how iconic of a ride this was for the park and that they need to have it re-open in some form. Unfortunately freak accidents can and do happen, but I trust that the Cedar Fair and Zamperla professionals will take their best care of this ride for years to come. This thing isn't going to open till next year. All of those wheel bogies have to completely rebuilt and manufactured. Then you have tons of Testing. Then the state has to come in an certify it. Zamperla should not have been chosen to do this reimagining. Zamperla and Cedar Point look like a bunch of losers. Cedar Point sucks anymore anyways.
