It supposed to have 999 meter distance but the app has an infinity symbol for the max distance so we are going to test it out.

Interesting test, I've not seen the upper end of the distance with the infinity symbol on any other MJX/Holy Stone app, the fail safe return to home is a great feature which appears to cut in even if you try and overide the GPS. Good job. Regards from the UK.
Yes, all of the rth still will work in atti mode it just don't have position hold.
A pretty nice video quad copter. Yeah! Whenever the distance test is done, I'm very curious about the result. Its max distance is Over 2km! Good result! Fpv vtx is also a good helper. Good review!👍
Without the little vtx I would never have gone that far. It is much more reliable than the phone app. Thank you :)

Just like the old mjx gps quads that max out at 999 meters but it can still be pushed further. Thanks Greg!

@@RCEscape by the way sir...have you encountered a wiggly and shaky gimbal onboard camera on your Drone.... Thats whats happening to mine mow...seems its having some sort of epileptic episode while up there om flight.... Very frustrating this problem is..

my h501s made it 1037m out all stock! i coulda maybe went a bit further but i stopped and decided to do a pan-around...big mistake there...rth kikked in lol! and i had fpv video as well!

Mine went 120 feet and got disconnected the gimbal doesn't work anymore and they won't repair it because I didn't bought it on Amazon or their official store

My take off "space" is much smaller so I would've had to MANUALLY guide it to the landing pad or hit a TREE!

I thought it needs gps mode ON for it to return to home. Seems like drone returning with it off
most all gps drones will return to home with gps turned off. however, the gps position hold does not work.
gps mode on , means that the DRONE is moving acording the pgs and holds its position acording gps, however the gps works all the time, that why you can see the distance hight , even when gps mode is of,, if you press return to home, you just told the drone to use the gps and return to the take of point(acording gps) and if the drone get out of transmitter range, the same happens
I don’t know how yours goes that far? Mine is the same drone as yours and it goes up to like 364 meters. Any help?

It all depends on where you fly... This guy is in the middle of nowhere... Very little signal traffic
In a city, you can only expect a few hundred feet w/ line of sight.

I don't fly with all that extra equipment so this is not a valid test for me. Would have preferred a screen recording of the Ophelia Fly app as you performed the flight.
In the beginning of the flight, I do show the video transmission from the Ophelia app. @3:00
It doesn't last that long. I wouldn't be able to showcase how far the drone itself can fly.
I have seen many videos and several have comment you don't need Internet..BS,, I have a phone Samsung that doesn't have a sim card, at my house no problem it picks up my internet, went out in the woods would not work had to ,use my phone with cell service to log in.. Please correct me if I am wrong.. Holly Stone has not responded.

I can not get 100 feet out of it before it loose connection to the controller. Don't know what is wrong with it. Loosed connection then come back to home.
Could you be in beginner mode or something? I had that issue once on my Bwine drone.
I've taken mine about 1586m. Wi-Fi FPV until about 900m. I'm in the wide open desert like you too. However I have more Joshua trees in the way, you have a really flat area. 👍👍
It supposed to have 499 meters wifi distance but if you are getting 900m wifi that's really good.
@@RCEscape Well I'm in the Antelope Valley 🏜️ I have to hold the phone, and RC above my head for a range test. It gets choppy, but it's pretty much useless after 800m 😜 I've gotten over 1800m distance with the BUGS 12, and similar FPV. But it's just for fun to test the range with friends.

I wouldn't get a second hand drone. Something could be messed up by the original owner.

Where is that? I see Highway 18... are you somewhere around Apple Valley? I bought a Holy Stone HS175D in December. A real piece of crap. I'm going to upgrade to the HS720G in April. That's like going from a toy camera to a real camera. The HS175D doesn't have a gimbal. The videos are terrible. Every movement makes the camera go up or down and turning to the side is ridiculous.
I'll probable never get it out or up to the distances you're running. I'm more into the photography aspect of it. I think the HS720G is just the thing I need.

Lool. The 175D is more of an FPV style drone.. not videography.. It's pretty good for photos, that's about it. It can produce OK videos on a calm day, going slow, and running the camera on 2k at 25fps, not 4k. Makes it too choppy in 4k. You gotta know what you're buying before you call it a POS 😌. It's a decent drone for the money, but there's definitely better options out there. Especially if you're more into the photography/videography aspect like you said. Only thing is, if you're gonna want to stay under 250g there's little options for 2-3 axis gimbles. EIS will be your next best option. Then of course you got DJI mini/SE. You can find them in good condition used for under $300. But the majority of cheaper 2-3 ax gimble drones will be over 250g and in the $200+ range
Get a DJI mini 2 se. Don’t waist your money on these drones.

With this one you don't need a booster.

The holystone company doesn't repair their defective products
Get what you pay for buy a DJI and forget about it
Also get non existent customer service if something goes wrong.
I d rather have a good drone and excellent customer service than a military experienced drone manufacturer and get a crap customer service and a drone which shatters when it falls out of the sky.
Holystone can take a lot of punishment. I have 5 holystone and my drones have hit concrete walls, fences and still only a scratch on them.
If a dji hits a concrete wall it would collapse in to a pile of dust 😂😂😂😂
