I've been listening to them for awhile. "Let it burn" is the song that speaks to me them most and helped me through some tough times.
They're new to me but this one spoke to me a lot. Any other suggestions?
@@zeanyt2372 I would say you can't really go wrong with any of their songs and Let it burn is probably my favorite if I HAD to choose. But ifyou want more specific suggestions I would say if I Surrender, and if these scars could speak. Those are definitely up there in their songs on my list.

For me it's bedroom ceiling and I'm not okay
I've struggled with depression, anxiety, ptsd, self-harm and suicidality since I was 15; I'm now 26 and everything is still the same. It's a constant trudge through darkness. Even when (if?) I'm ever okay, the scars on my body will always remind me of my past and trauma.
I'm sure I'm not the only person that requested you react to Citizen Soldier, but thank you none the less. I truly relate to all of their songs. Some other songs of theirs I recommend are; Let It Burn, Buried Alive, Weight of the World, I'm not Okay, If I Surrender, Gunshot Lullabies and Bedroom Ceiling.

Been suffering from depression since i was 5 years old, but i never got diagnosed with it till i was about 15. I now suffer from emotional and mental trauma from my childhood, social anxiety and severe chronic depression.. ive been struggling to find a reason to keep living. Its so difficult 😢😢😢

This band has helped me through a lot of states. From just feeling sad to wanting to end it all.
I absolutely LOVE citizen soldier. Jake, their vocalist, is an absolute gem of a human being and a beautiful person. I connect a lot with his story. I love their music so much.
The lyrics to this song especially hit me hard. My brain lies to me and tells me I don't matter sometimes. That if I disappeared, I wouldn't be missed.
But the truth? Is the exact opposite. I am so needed in this world.

I was in tears before the end of first verse because I've had those exact thoughts. I was in foster when I was 12 so I know all about moving from family to family. But past mistakes and just life in general had me thinking negative thoughts about myself. Even now I deal with self-worth issues.

I've been listening to a few of their songs recently but never heard this one, I had goosebumps towards the end of that song. Depression or no depression, all of us have had those moments where you question all of those things and wonder what our part and importance are in this world. I find it more often than not coming down from a sequence of happiness, when you come down from that "high" and everything else just seems pointless and not worth it, those are the times you need to brave and fight through.
I love these reactions Alex, I haven't personally gone through serious depression, but I can still relate to having those questions whenever I feel alone and sad.

I think craziest thing I've learned about Citizen Soldier, is that the lead singer was in a band previously but they told him his vocals weren't good enough for them. He didn't listen, he picked himself up and he found people like you who said "beautiful vocals." 💙
Thanks for the positive messages. It’s needed more than ever in this world. All of the songs by citizen soldier or deep and have real serious meaning behind them and the continuing positive messages of saying to not give up the fight to keep going you’re not alone helps a lot of people and if just one person here is the song decides to keep living on instead of committing suicide that makes a difference
Thank you for finally reacting to this band and this song. I can relate to this song more than you know. I listen to their music daily it helps so much with all I'm going through. I lost my son my fiance and then my grandma who raised me she passed away 2 years ago from a heart attack. I struggle with a mental illness severe anxiety/panic disorder ptsd ect and it's a struggle just to get out of bed most days. I ended up in the hospital a few years ago from a suicide attempt and i still struggle with not wanting to be here. I just want to say ty to alex and Citizen Soldier because you both have helped me to keep fighting and not give up. Here are a few more songs by CS you should check out I'm not ok(and it's so true I'm really not ok) Let it burn, never good enough,if these scars could speak,thank you for hating me those are just a few all of their songs are amazing and speak to me. There's a song called watch me bleed by a band called scary kids scaring kids and that song hits so deep i can't even explain it. I hope you check it out sometime. I'm dealing with alot right now i have noone no friends no family and it hurts alot. UA-cam and music are my escape from all I'm dealing with. I feel worthless and alone. And no i don't want anyone to feel sorry for me it's not like that. I usually don't share stuff like this i keep it bottled up inside and i hide it from the world I've been doing it for a long time. Because when i have tried to share these things people act like they could care less so now i just keep it hidden deep inside. This song hits hard. I've been in that place because of the demons in my head. I have anxiety and C-PTSD due to years of domestic violence. I keep this song and another Citizen Soldier song, Stronger Than My Storm, on my phone's playlist. This song reminds me that no matter what, I have value. Stronger Than My Storm reminds me that I can overcome the demons.

The best thing about Citizen Soldier is the way they don't shy away from these dark thoughts, he says them aloud so others can say them aloud.

I found this band by chance on Tiktok a few days ago & been listening to their music since. As someone thats been through a lot including losing both parents by age 21 (im 23 now) & having depression/anxiety for at least the past 10 years especially the first time i ever listened to this song i started crying halfway through it.

The way you're looking at the screen, reading the lyrics, listening to the song, you can tell that you got caught up in it and were feeling the song. That's how I felt the first time I heard it, the first time it reached me. I remember it vividly....I was sat in an empty parking lot, screaming my head off at my steering wheel, desperately trying to find a reason to go on, to fight a battle that no one seemed to care if I won or lost. The two people who meant the most to me had just finished emotionally abandoning me, telling me that they no longer wanted to hear about how I felt, or what I was thinking, and one of them telling me that they hated me and wanted nothing else to do with me. Context is important, but it dealt with a horrible break up because she didn't want to feel guilty for cheating on me anymore. I not only hit the end of my rope, but my rope snapped and I began a downfall that I am still trying to recover from 2 years later. Citizen Soldier has helped me tremendously, and this is the song that started it all.

Every song this band creates is tied in some form to mental health, depression, emotions, or some combination of the above. It could be self reflective like Would Anyone Care, Bedroom Ceiling, or Gunshot Lullabies. It could be ones emotions stemming from another like Make Hate to Me, it could be a song of emotional resilience like Stronger Than My Storm, or it could be the singer themselves directing a song towards the listener like Go Through Hell or Irreplaceable.
Hey man I personally appreciated you took the time to pause and say what you did there around 4 min mark. It’s I’m portent to have people say this to one another strangers to. It’s how trust in the world begins. How we build up one another and listen to those in pain. Be an ear, be a friend, hearts and love is what guides us all in the end.

Been listening to their band for about 2 and a half years now, and I know plenty of people say this about plenty of bands but I haven't been disappointed by any of their songs yet. They've really hit their stride with This Is Your Sign Pt. 1 and I can't wait for Pt. 2.
I have struggled with suidicidal ideations over the last 17 years since my dad died. I haven't had them in awhile, this week someone I thought cared totally fucked me over. And they're back. I've never seen anyone react to Citizen Soldier before, and honestly I thought there was gonna be shit talk. Thank you for understanding those of us that struggle
I`m a pretty new fan of Citizen Soldier so i actually havent heard this song yet until now. They are so so good and i can relate to it, so when the ”second part” of the song was playing i was about to cry but when you in the middle of that part ”ily” it made me cry. Alex, my full time job is as a psych tech in an inpatient, lock-down psychiatric facility. My unit has 21 beds. Most of the time, 3-4 of those beds are empty due to 1 of the two beds in the room has someone that we categorized as a 'No Roommate ' due to suicidal (SI) or homicidal (HI)0 thoughts or intention. Usually we have 2 Psych Nurses and 2 techs, or more (some patients are put on a 1 to 1 status due to increased SI or potential for self Harm (SH).
Honestly, my 1st impulse is to show this video in a group.
However, having done this for the last 6 years, honestly, part of me needs to hear this as a lot of the staff here has dealt with this so long that we almost have grown numb to this. We are struggling to be empathetic as opposed to being kind of 'yeah, whatever"l." Especially with 'frequent flyers- (reaccuring patients who we see once a month or so.)
When YOU post these kind of reactions, especially with your positive attitude, you help to remind me that I am there to help and encourage them and that I need to step up my empathy game.

I went through two years of absolute hell and I can remember the day CS literally saved my life.
At that time all I needed was to feel understood and let some of my suppressed emotions out. I wouldn’t be here if that didn’t happen.
Now a year and a half later I’m much better and making my way back to a normal life.
I have felt like that.....lost my dad when I was 23 and it crushed me..turned to drugs and alcohol...14 years on i have a amazing son who is my world..its just him and me but I feel like I was ment to stay around so I would become a father..life is awful but it has its amazing moments..

This band is one that you must love. Every song they put out is meant to reach someone, to help, even if just a little bit. They are there for those who feel lost, broken and alone. For those who lost hope. They are beautiful people for doing what they do. They helped me just by playing their music and singing their lyrics. And I'm just one of many.
