I was wondering if Guinness would have to ever defend its title again! lol Better late than never. I think I would go with Paulaner on this one, but hard to say what would happen when comparing each category one after another like that.
I have to go with the Paulaner but that's because I'm more partial to hefeweiss and the wheat flavor. I understand the creaminess of the nitro bubbles, but what I like is my beer to have a lot of carbonation throughout, I think this is from my background of liking mineral water. The presentation of the Paulaner does it for me since you can see through the liquid, and the excess carbonation that whirls up constantly, you have to use a dedicated tall hefeweiss glass. I would consider the Hacker Pschorr as the little brother of the Paulaner, which is very similar but lighter and not as strong with the hops.
hahah these are always so ridiculous and fun. why do so many people get stressed in the comments? they're not supposed to be fair comparisons, they explain pretty clearly how this pairing came about. people need to chilllllll and just enjoy.
Can't fairly compare a light bodied beer to a heavier bodied beer. The heavier bodied beer will almost always win (even though Guinness isn't that heavy), at least for my palate. But when making a choice for one beer to drink, it's situational and a lighter bodied beer will frequently be the choice. Let's be happy Guinness and Weizen Biers are both available to chose from! I chose to open a bottle of Franziskaner to enjoy while watching this at 10 AM. If it was 10 PM I probably would have gone with the Guinness (or both to play along). By the way, you guys may be comparing the Guinness to two different Weiss beers. The can states Weissbeer (probably filtered) and the bottle states hefe-Weissbier (unfiltered). They probably don't taste the same.
You know.. This is Apples vs Oranges = 2 totally different types of beer. But give me a Paulaner anyday! Guinness is good at one thing = Stout, which I do not really like. I have never had a bad variety of Paulaner, which there quite a few.
I have to say that canned Guinness is wayyy worse than tap, paulaner is not perfect at all jezzz there are wayyy better Weissbiers . bizarre that those beers are in the best
The Chocolate in the Distance reigns supreme! I can't wait for the Nocturnum fight
Chocolate in the distance!

So unfair! It’s absolutely preposterous

SUCH different beers. Almost opposites
In what possible universe is Guinness the "ultimate beer"??? It's not even in the top 100 in the world. It's not even the best stout in the world.
In the Beer Brackets universe! Cheers friend 🍻

It’s very bizarre, it’s true
