Cant believe its 11 years today since the world lost Robin, seems like yesterday when we heard the news 💔
Rob was definitely one of a kind. Look up eccentric in the dictionary and you see his picture. Baby photos (like the one in the video) and early performances always showed a laughing, cheerful child full of mischief. David English, Barry's dear friend, said Robin never knew just how talented he was. We do. His wit, voice and lyrics did reach many hearts including Elton's. The tributes on his death came from so many of his peers. Other singers and composers knew quality when they heard it. Amazing how different three (four) brothers could be and how tragic their loss before their time. Thank you for recognizing him on this sad anniversary.

Thanks Chad for the heartfelt tribute to Robin. After 11 years after his death, the love of his fans is still very strong but I realize that even the new generations sincerely admire him, thanks to YT, far from the clamor and journalistic gossip of the time, in which he and his brothers they were at the top of pop. People want to hear harmonious voices that create positive emotions. There is too much evil around us all. We need oxygen from time to time.

@@juanita6479 I went with her to physical therapy Wednesday. She is about the same, but still trying to regain some muscle use in the bad arm. She can wiggle her fingers a little bit, and the therapist says she thinks she now has some muscle contraction in her bicep, but nothing in her tricep. She gets around pretty well, but falls easily because her balance isn't good with that arm in a sling. Thank you for asking about her!!

Oh yes, Elton is a great man, he always takes the time either in concerts or interviews to pay tribute to many of the greatest who have left or in other cases to praise those who are still alive, always sincere always humble, great Elton!!!
I admit Robin is my favorite from the Gibb brothers, even though I really love the four of them. A great 80s vibe, this time with a higher range of his voice for the whole album, all in all a very good song. Also you have a good point there Chad, they should being known as 'Kings of Harmony' no question, instead of Kings of disco as everybody refers to them.

In the 60s I didn’t think there was a leader of the BeeGees since Robin & Barry seemed to share leads equally. In the 70s Barry seemed more of the lead especially with the falsetto. Really like the Elton tribute.

Chad, o ano era 1982 quando comprei essa raridade e todo esse disco é um retrato de uma época única quando eu tinha de 17/18 anos. Foi nesse disco que reconheci o quanto a voz desse cara era de outro mundo, pois até então eu me dividia entre ele e Barry como vocalista principal, foi neste disco que eu vi que a voz de Barry é fenomenal, porém a de Robin é de outro mundo. Parabéns pela homenagem mais que merecida.

He referred to Barry as the lead singer and to Robin and Maurice as the background singers. Such nonsense!!! Maybe he only knew this song and hadn't listened to any other song sung by them.

Must say, I'm very proud of that album. Buyed it as fast I could get it those days. 'Juliet' was a great hit out of it, but every song is remarkable, just like that one. Fact is, the family of Bee Gees fans in Germany always saw the three of them and that means equality. But Robin couldn't get hits in the US-market. There, he's been totally overlooked. Good thing, Chad, makin' that tribute-weekend!

I love the '80s sound of this song too! I've heard Robin's voice referred to as a chameleon many times before but never a unicorn. I think both animals describe his voice perfectly! It's so sweet that you put what Elton John said about Robin on the day he passed away before the song to which you were going to react! Such a sweet tribute to Robin! I love that most of this weekend's marathon is dedicated to Robin, since this is the anniversary of his passing! I just love how invested in, honoring of, and respectful of all four Gibb bros you are! Nice song by Robin and as always good reaction video. Nevertheless, I always have to smile a little when I see this type of video. Everything is mixed together when selecting the photos. From the 60s, 70s, 80s to the last decade of his life. There isn't one photo from 1983 (except the album cover), the year the song was released. Everything mixed up....Pity
Hello, BG's, and thanks for your feedback! In regards to the pictures... obviously, this was a fan-created slideshow of photos that someone placed on YT. I just select a video that would be more entertaining for my viewers to watch than just an album cover.
@@hereonthe3L Hi Chad, I think it's totally fine to make a video more entertaining with slideshows. I use it myself too. However, I choose the images so that they fit the era in which the song came out, with a few exceptions where I feel the subject matter allows. It's okay to make a video dedicated to a day marking the 11th anniversary of Robin's death. In this case, I think it's okay if you choose pictures from any number of time periods. Like I said, it depends on the topic. However, if a user only presents one song, it should fit into the respective epoch.

Happy Birthday a few days late, Carol. Yesterday, the 19th, is another sad day for me. I would have celebrated my 50th wedding anniversary but the ex had other ideas 17 years ago. That's two awful days in a row for me. 😢
The "How Old Are You" album as a whole is quite a paradox. The songs were well written and could have been given to other artists, but his singing and some of the drum machine parts are just bad. This song is one of the few where he doesn't sing in a painfully high range. With better production, this could have been a great album.
Maybe it’s just my age (I’ve owned the album since 1983), or maybe I’m just a sucker for the nostalgia these days, but I really enjoy the production on this album. It was on par with many other records of its time. Sure, there was much greater production out there, but the unique sound of this album always made it feel just a bit more personal. I actually still listen to it frequently.
