Its the best... ☺😊👍 my country Nepal's national flag carried flew 2 Boeing 757 for 31 years :) sadly they have just retired the combi version this year.. I also got to fly in it as a passenger when i was small 😊💺✈ feeling thankful.... And i still like the Boeing 757... Its my favourite single aisle narrow body aircraft in the world... 😊👍💺✈
Of all the Boeing airplanes I have had the privilege of flying 737-500 thru 900, 757-200,-300, 767-200,-300,-400, 777-200(PW) 777-200(GE), 777-300, 787-8,-9, the 757-200 RB-211 powered is hands down my favorite airplane. Iconic, one for the ages, incomparable, no rivals. What a machine!
the 757 will always remain my favorite aircraft. once and always, she always had that uniqueness feel to me that made her stand out to other aircrafts. the 757 having it's narrow body and sleek design are what made me enjoy it. she will always remain my favorite aircraft. may she fly from here on out.
I love the sound of those Rolls-Royce engines; wonderful aircraft, have taken over 50 flights in the 757. It's hard to imagine that British airways will be retiring them soon, I flew in their first 757 G-BIKA in the 1980's.
That's so cool. One of the most beautiful planes ever built. And very comfortable. Do you know more about the difficulties they talked about at her first flight?
The 757 is and was pure class. I remember business travelling a lot Heathrow to Frankfurt, the lady in our company travel dept always booked me on a BA 757. I’d bring her back presents! 🤫
@ruemiser This was before computers. This is the FIRST time this airplane flew. There was no simulators to practice on before hand. They didn't know any of the planes characteristics until it flew. You do better!
the B757, quite frankly the BEST mid-long range aircraft to date. That jet is plenty powerful! Even though it has been out of production since 2004, I would recomend it for any airline with new mid-range routes. Get the new 787 in 10 years,--or after making profit on the route
Wind 180/24 and they're taking off from runway 33 which is something like 5300ft long? I get that the plane was quite light for that flight and I've often heard that the 757 is a good performer.. but damn...
this aircraft was one of the best made, bumpy landing, anyways, this aircraft should not have stopped production. theres soo many out there in service today.
@warner72 Did I failed to mention those? My bad... About Lockheed Martin... Lockheed made great planes. Don't forget the L1045 Constellations and L1011 Tristar. Man! those planes were great. Constellation was in use by TWA for transatlantic and Tristar's aircraft system with autoland and other cool things outdated B747s...
The a300 was also designed for short high-density routes ASWELL. Infact, the early a300 had a shorter range than that of the early 762, don’t believe me? Take your own advice and go read it up. So, yes they can compare, Boeing sacrificed the width of the 767 for extra range over the a300.
Why there is big fuzz with the Airbus jets and Boeing jets? I believe they are great aircraft manufacturers both with state of the art flight controls and with awesome cockpit displays.
It was and still is a great airplane. It was a great first flight. I was the Captain on the first flight. 2/19/82
John Armstrong great job sir!!
Wow! Great to hear from you many years later!
Great to hear from you John.
Will be sad to see her leave our skies.
John Armstrong I don’t really believe you, can you show evidence?
By far the best looking plane Mr Boeing ever made, They even look super cool with the gear down.
The Boeing 757 has to be the best aircraft ever created, boeing made a mistake by putting these birds out of production
Children arguing is hilarious
Narrow body didnt do it for plane that big
agreed
@reverse thrust He's right though
757USAirways loved flying Northwest 757s
i think the 757 has a signature takeoff. no other plane can take off like this.
757 is like the sports car of the skies
I love this plane! After all these years she's still the best looking in the skies!
Today is the 39th anniversary of the 757. Such an amazing aircraft. So beautiful. It’s also my mums 40th birthday today 😂
the 757 will always remain my favorite aircraft. once and always, she always had that uniqueness feel to me that made her stand out to other aircrafts. the 757 having it's narrow body and sleek design are what made me enjoy it. she will always remain my favorite aircraft. may she fly from here on out.
thrust level is wonderful on this aircraft! I'm flying this beauty now for almost 12 years!
the 757 was possibly the most passenger friendly aircraft ever built, my opinion.
I love the sound of those Rolls-Royce engines; wonderful aircraft, have taken over 50 flights in the 757. It's hard to imagine that British airways will be retiring them soon, I flew in their first 757 G-BIKA in the 1980's.
The 757 was a legend, I wish they didn’t discontinue it
The way they took-off and landed gives me a feeling that the pilots were just having fun with the plane! : )
Yeah, the same when I flew on it. The pilot's used to love throwing it around.
Great, thanks!
what a beautiful girl she is...
Love the music - reminds me of Boards of Canada.
I worked on this airplane from the time the can came to Renton till it's first flight February 19, 1982.
That's so cool. One of the most beautiful planes ever built. And very comfortable. Do you know more about the difficulties they talked about at her first flight?
I remember that day well. Rotated right in front where I was standing. I got to see the last one leaving Rentoon as well a few years later
The 757 is and was pure class. I remember business travelling a lot Heathrow to Frankfurt, the lady in our company travel dept always booked me on a BA 757. I’d bring her back presents! 🤫
This was the largest single aisle airplane they had ever made, very well designed too :)
What a beautiful moment in aviation 🥹
Bring back both the 757 and the 767.
Simply stunning!!!!
My father was part of the original 757 flight test team at Edwards AFB
I am honoured sir. thank you for watching my video.
What a beautiful aircraft ☺
Amazing! Airbus A340 and 757 are the two best planes on earth and they're both sadly out of production.
Totally agree
757 signature takeoff- takesoff like a rocket
Boeing at its best. Love the 757
I was a drafter in the wing structures group and was at the first flight. ;-)
She leaped into the air. ;-D
Most amazing commercial aircraft ever.
Birth of a legend...
I still need to fly on a Rolls-Royce powered one (I've only flown on 1 PW-powered jet).
fly tui!
Jet2 in the UK still flys them on certain routes.
0:22. Looks like the earlier version of the RB211 compared to what is on today's 757s.
@ruemiser This was before computers. This is the FIRST time this airplane flew. There was no simulators to practice on before hand. They didn't know any of the planes characteristics until it flew. You do better!
Its been 40 years today! Its 2022 and the 757 is still my favorite.
Back in the days when Boeing was run by the engineers and not wall street penny pinchers.
This airplane quickly earned the nickname "Atari Ferrari", because it flew like a hot rod! One of the nicest airplanes I have flown.
XD
i honestly think the 757 was better 707 replacement than a replacement for the 727 as boeing intended. the 757 also kicks the ass out of the a321 too.
Happy 42nd Birthday to the most amazing airliner ever!!!
a toast to the 757🍾
What a wonderful aircraft! Great memories of every time flight with them.
This was the Best Day for American Airlines !!
Birth of a legend
My fav plane to fly on!
that approach is crazy but landing not too bad lol....but yea the 757 is a great plance
Still a beautiful bird after all
OMG!! What a landing, and for a test flight too!
Get up there, you beautiful bastard.
Great thrust to weight ratio, 1:3, makes it a great performer.
A great plane with those Rolls Royce Rb211's engines. It was like a rocket ship taking off. My first flight on one was around 86/87as child.
All Boeing aircrafts are very nice.
30 years old next year still looks modern without the wingtips
said to be the most over powered airline with its amazing british RR211
Today, the beautiful bird took its maiden flight.
★★★★★
A good airplane it is.
When the cabin is stripped bare of stuff, that thing takes off like a rocket.
Greatest airplane of all time.
this plane needs more respect the a321 looks like crap compared to the 757
damn straight, not only the a321 is crap but its less performant then the 757
I taught I was the only one that believed the a321 is crap compared to the 757 :-)
I hate the A321 I’m an airbus man but 757-200 is may favourite plane and A321 is worst airbus
My favorite plane, and for a good reason.
I have a crush on this aircraft.
you are absolutely right.
I love the 747
It’s sad that Boeing retired the 757 too early it was a perfect aircraft
best 757 test vid out there
the best plane!
the B757, quite frankly the BEST mid-long range aircraft to date. That jet is plenty powerful! Even though it has been out of production since 2004, I would recomend it for any airline with new mid-range routes. Get the new 787 in 10 years,--or after making profit on the route
damn, we at 40 years now
Nice aircraft! Windy landing...
My fav plane
That's the airframe Boeing should have further developed.
And the king of the skies is the 777 =)
Wind 190 @ 20 Gust 38 is very windy especially for a first flight!
Lots of respect.
Who loves the B757?
fawii i do i do i do.. 😁
Me!
Pretty awesome, what year would it have been?
@Shipocute not to mention there are other companies who do a great job with technology, like Lockheed Martin, Embraer, Bombardier, Cessna etc.
@MrWscherr
You're right, the 747 is the QUEEN OF THE SKIES
Suprisingly the 757 and the a310 are the only planes that have a size and range in between the a320s/B737s and the a330s/B787s
What is the music in the background
@grantourismo0109
I'm in your opinion, the 787 is a great aircraft.
the 777 is the princess of the skies like if u agree
Amazing Machine!!!
I love Boeing's other planes, but the 757 should still be in production. It's a great workhorse of a plane.
1:55 looks like a cute baby bird learning how to land.
The 767 was a response to the a300.
Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden. Claims its the most overpowered aircraft in the sky.
@alyfuturepilot i totaly agree with you the 757 is boeings sexiest aicraft but im guessing there gonna replace her with the 787
after the 747 the 757 is the first boeing airplane with redesigned cockpit that is the same of the 767 and 777
And so it began....
*windy day*
Boeing: Let's see how well this thing flies with stiff winds...
@scaremenga
767 is not ugly duckling, theres no test flight video probably because its greatness could not be captured on film, lol
I agree, but the Most Reliable part of the L1011 & B757 is the RR- RB211 engines.
Prototype Boeing 757-100 powered by Rolls Royce RB211-254, the same powerplant of the L1011. This variant never launched until 757-200
@Jrink30 true but take into account a lot of landings you see in jets nowadays are all autolandings. Anyway there was a 20knot crosswind to be fair.
@perfectpilot1 Unfortunately I cannot agree with you. 747 is an evolution, but the A380 is a revolution ...
The a300 was also designed for short high-density routes ASWELL. Infact, the early a300 had a shorter range than that of the early 762, don’t believe me? Take your own advice and go read it up. So, yes they can compare, Boeing sacrificed the width of the 767 for extra range over the a300.
757 is very the most beautiful aircraft. I think Obama also liked the 757 because his private jet was a 757
Why there is big fuzz with the Airbus jets and Boeing jets?
I believe they are great aircraft manufacturers both with state of the art flight controls and with awesome cockpit displays.
1st Royal Nepal airlines 757-200F
good
Beautiful. Does anyone know more about the difficulties they had with the plane?
Sweet
