Members of the European Parliament visited Malta to examine the state of the rule of law following Prime Minister Joseph Muscat's announced resignation and the further resignations in connection with the revelations of Maltese investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was murdered after exposing corruption of the current Labour government.
Members of the European Parliament met in Malta with Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, President George Vella and representatives of the Parliament as well as the Attorney General. Dutch, Renew MEP Sophie In't Veld and Maltese MEP Roberta Metsola from the EPP spoke after the meeting and called for the immediate resignation of the Prime Minister.
