OMNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Yes! Finally! I want one! How much are these? It sounds just like an omni music box! Maybe it uses the same kind of chip! You used your Sony recorder again, didn't you?
These are rare. I got mine for about $30 plus shipping (ultra expensive for international) but seems like there aren't any on the market. I think it is the same chip, just one with different package than another. Normally I record melody ICs with my ICD-UX560 which is a solid little PCM recorder that I often carry for various purposes, but for this chip I used the other one which is the premium PCM-D100 which I only use to capture something like live concert or from professional equipments.
@@whc2001 Where did you get the music box from? If I have that information, I might be able to find one for myself. I just got to watch out for very high prices that I can not afford. I only have 20 bucks!
He didn't get an OMNI, he just got a Blue Box Fun Circus toy keyboard which has the exact same chip.
@@TheBeeshSpweesh I didn't say that he used an Omni! I said that I wanted one that I could afford for a low enough price with what little money that I have!
@@whc2001 I am in desperate need of one of these because the Omni I'm repairing the chip is messed up (only plays once) and I need to get it ready before spring
The Ice Cream Truck Song!

Exactly. That's the chip used in the OMNI ice cream truck music box made by Nichols Electronics.

Why are you obsessed with that song?
@@Undercoverelevator212-s2n I just like to hear it played on toys and ice cream trucks.
@@ruthbarron625 Sadly I am still unable to find any chip contains this song for now.

Sorry but I am in China right now so it's expensive to obtain that. Maybe I'll do it when I go back to Canada after the pandemic.
@@whc2001 If you are in China, please be VERY careful, as COVID-19 started there. We don't want you being tested positive for it and eventually passing away from it.
@@Undercoverelevator212-s2n Thanks for the reminder, actually China is pretty safe now (some new cases in ShanDong though), I'll definitely pay attention. Also you too, I heard US and Canada are suffering a lot, please be careful and stay safe.

这个IC算是7910系列的标准品之一,UA-cam上应该有不少视频,可以搜一下,有机会我去看看哪里能搞到7910系列
好哦~期待你的7910CF
I wonder if it's possible to reproduce this exact chip, but add something that lets you program your own songs and add PCM samples..? It seems like a fun challenge, but I'd probably accidentally electrocute myself and turn myself into a fried dogshit lookalike making it.

Is there any way to get the rest of the drum sounds? (Bass, snare, hat, cowbell)
Well I don't think from manual methods as they don't have triggers. The simplest way for now is to clip them from tunes.
If the chip gets decapped, it may be possible to extract them all from the mask ROM on the die. If we can't do that, then how else are we gonna hear the full "ride cymbal" sound from Row Row Row Your Boat?
@@TheBeeshSpweesh this is super late, but I think the hat samples are Yamaha. At least the open hat is from an RY30
