It shakes?! You might want to check your tires mate! I have a 2012 and it NEVER shakes, even when I'm hopping onto the highway......it's a base model and I gun it ALL the time, dunno what your complaining about, mine ROCKS!
I drove an 06 cooper s 6sp for 8 years I loved the car but it was pricey to operate In my ownership time I had purchased 18 run flat tires never wearing out any tire A clutch (I have never ever replaced a clutch and I have driven many sticks well over 150,000 All this in 8 years and 58000 which I put on all by myself
I had three Geo/Chevy Metros, three cylinders, five speed coupes. I enjoyed driving them on blacktop two lane twisty roads. Forgive me, but I'm seeing some similarities, on steroids: Hatchback, three cylinders, 5spd, low, wide, short wheelbase, 40+ mpg, with plenty of room if you fold the back seats down.
Mike C As a brit i agree, however I do think the mk3 onwards are different beasts to the mk2 shown, lets not forget you were driving with a Peugeot engine in front of you in this film, which i find explains alot
i have a 2009 i bought brand new. I have had minimal issues ans still drive it! It it not wobbly in the slightest, the suspension is stiff and you feel bumps
Hey Rodger! I’m looking to buy one of these. Any interesting quirks I should know? I’m also looking at a 2009. Does it have Bluetooth? And how’s the sound system?
I have a question, on paper the consumption isn't that much but many ppl say that that's not really the case... On your experience how much does it consume?
Depends quite a bit on the engine configuration and how you drive the vehicle. My brother and I made a couple hundred mile roadtrip with some pretty good mountain pass climbing on a non-turbo manual and got over 40 mpg. If you're driving a Mini Cooper S quite aggressively you'll probably see pretty poor fuel economy. In general the fuel economy ratings are very good for all configurations of the Mini Cooper
Might be a bit late for some but do not buy any mini from 2008, they are holey unreliable, mines got 60,000 miles and is in the shop for an engine replacement because of how the engine is built. Stay away from these cars
Hopefully my issues isn't a super common problem across the board 😬 but I had about three different garages look at the car, one of which couldn't work out the issue and another who said it would need a whole new engine. Fortunately I have a local guy who's very reliable and was able to replace the internals of where the spark sockets connect to the rest of the engine, but it was still a very expensive repair, cost about 2 grand which is close to what I bought the car for 😅 Just keep an eye out for any slight oil leaks, that seems to be how the whole problem started, and even after getting the leak fixed the rest of the engine went bust. BMW modify the peugeot engine so parts are difficult and expensive to get. Fortunately the engine is all fixed now but I still don't feel confident driving longer distances in it.

Lol, that glove box button looks like it would be a button for an ejection seat.
In going to check out a 2009 model today.

"...Feels like a British car: very wobbly and shaky"?? It's German built by BMW. Lightweight in places but definitely not 'wobbly and shaky'.
They're owned by BMW but still built in the UK. I love Mini's but compared to the ride quality of a BMW or even a VW golf they don't compare.

Hi. One question.
Do you have a lighter to connect a Bluetooth?
Thank you!
Is this stradman’s brother?

@@caleb8625 Bluetooth works great. The stereo is ok but some have the upgraded one.
@@rogervallve7375 bought it this last Saturday and love it. Thanks for your help!
I was wondering about the steering wheel it’s much different than other mini wheels and I can’t find much about what the grey buttons do.
OMG! An American talking about a British handling icon being 'wobbly'??? American cars are the very definition of wobbly. :).
American cars in general are incredibly smooth - where they sometimes fail as a result is handling on windier roads.
Name me one American car that can take a corner without sliding

You forgot the hidden glove box
Either I forgot or I couldn't find it because its hidden? :-)
Mike C who’s knows ;)
Doesnt ur dash above glove box have a secret compartment?
Are you sure about the 0-60 mph speed for the non-S Cooper?
Varying specifications out there depending on who you ask but that was the number I found
Seems about right from what I've experienced so far.
@@shiver8860 its around 9s 0-60
@@bhayat911 No, the 2006 Cooper is a bit quicker than that. Still a 16v fuel-injected BMW engine in a small, light car

Have bluetooh?
I don't think the 2008 model did - but newer ones will
Don't qualify 'unique'. Something is unique or it isn't. 'Very' unique or 'sort of' unique just makes you sound like an idiot. You are not an idiot.
British or Germany?
Owned by BMW but is Brittish
